Hello maxon team. Great work on the updates. But I have to say, we are multiple users in the industry who work as freelancers, and the pricing of your tools are getting out of hand. Most of us have no choice but turning to other alternatives like blender which is free. We are honestly hopeful that maxon will hear us and start doing something for indie devs and freelancers. We can’t continue this path, the cost of living is skyrocketing. And paying at least 150CAD(!!) to use a software monthly is just not realistic.
Agreed! You would think with this pricing they would have multiple big updates every release. But nope. I mean like, Sparse Surface and Volume emissions for Pyro + Spline Follow for particles? That's it? for 2025 update? The fact that people even mention Blender as a comparison to C4D is embarrassing. There should be no comparison between a premium and a free software. On top of that, imagine if you are new to 3D and want to learn C4D, you have to pay $169/month for Maxon One or $109/month for C4D alone?? As a hobbyist? Hello?!
Agreed. Great updates. However, whilst C4D is one of the most artist friendly 3D applications available the pricing for indies is not. C4D suits people who need to use lots of other design software by the nature of their trade. It fits very well into that multi-application workflow by design with good integration and workflows that support other design software (particularly Adobe). Yet, it's one of the least affordable solutions for exactly that user group. Indie freelancers earning less than 100k are effectively better suited going elsewhere. You can see the results as less and less content creators are using C4D and its community gradually hollows out.
@@RayDale-TSM exactly. I can’t teach c4d to my students anymore, most of them will not be able to afford c4d in the long run. I now simply teach blender whenever I have a course to give.
Just want to say, because maybe if enough people do they will actually listen, that as much as I love using Maxon there is no possible way I will be able to afford it. I am currently learning Blender and Houdini which I will make the switch to. I have been using C4D only through education licenses, and when that runs out I cannot imagine a situation where I am able to afford the cost of the full product. I truly cannot comprehend why they price out indie and freelancers, it's nonsensical to me.
Keep going, you're losing your customer base one update at a time, with your outrageous subscription prices and updates that bring little to no real improvement. Each new version delivers nothing but cosmetic changes, bugs, and features no one asked for. You’re charging premium prices for what feels like minimal effort, well donr maxon.
Thank god I moved to Houdini. C4D is great for quick and dirty but the price should reflect that. When the client starts getting nuanced in their feedback you hit a wall. Houdini can do so much more than Cinema and has an indie license that you can run on two PC's, enough said

Some of these things could be underway, or on lists for the future releases. Takes time to work on these features and make sure they're all programmed to work properly across devices.
Could you add possibility to change brush size on [ ] hotkeys as on desktop Zbrush version? This hotkey we have in any digital art tool by default. This increases accessibility for left-handed artists.
Cool features but... not very practical for Broadcast anyway which I believe is your biggest branch, nobody uses pyro or particles on an everyday basis.
It's a shame that there is no access to iPad applications for a huge audience from Russia and Belarus. Personally, I waited a long time for it to come out on the iPad, but apparently it was not meant to be, I will continue to use Nomad Sculpt, this application is available everywhere.😔
You guys should be taking AI much more seriously, you could have used it as optional texture engine, saving artist heaps of time, heck you could have inovated in that area. Also no gaussian splatting? You guys are gonna fall behind.
