  • And just like that, this channel went from documenting my progress to a review channel? I have the opportunity to sample demo gear from my favorite local shop, Good Breeze Kiteboarding. I jumped on it. I love my AK gear, but I also really love trying new gear from everyone. I am a gear fanatic.
I ride AK gear every day and so I am really keyed into the performance of that gear. It is flow state and mindless. So I cannot go comparing performance of my gear against gear that I try for a few hours or a few days at best. These reviews will try to capture what I liked best about the gear and who I think will want to buy the gear. My AK/Freewing gear reviews will be much more in depth and substantial, but I would love to continue to try new gear as I can get my hands on it.
This one is a bit long and I made the mistake of riding two new pieces of gear at once. In future reviews, I only intend on changing up one variable at a time. I hope you enjoy. AK gear reviews are coming along with a review on the Foil Drive!
I am not getting paid or compensation for recommending Good Breeze Kiteboarding. I am just grateful to be able to recommend them and grateful for the use of their gear. They did give me a hat and T Shirt, so there is that.
Good Breeze taught me my first steps in wing foiling a few years ago and helped bring content to this channel in the early days.
You can find their shop at:
110 Dixie Ln, Cocoa Beach, FL 32931
    or find them online at

Thanks to @AKDurableSupplyCo and @FreewingWorld for the support and flexibility to be able to review other brands.

Stoked to see you putting out authentic reviews bro. As someone who is now also using AK I always loved Slingshot gear. This is going to be so helpful for riders to find what’s right for them rather than what’s just right for us. 🔥🤘🏼🤘🏼

It is a fun process and it keeps my personal gear from getting worn out as quickly. 😄🤙 There is also a ton of value in benchmarking. I also learned that I lost some boom skills. Not sure when that happened. Humbling.

nice one bud. interesting wing design! I'm glad you covered that weird handle... I saw that earlier in the vid and kept eyeing it. btw Will from AK is in our area, I finally got to ride the Nitro and Air! they were sweet. I feel like I was just saying to you a week ago "I wonder if they will hit our area??" and the totally did. we def made that happen. lol.

That is awesome! Love the gear. But I love the Pro the best. That clear wing is just fantastic. Not sure if you saw a few of the shorts I dropped this week. I have been playing with a new Foil Drive and sinker boards. You gotta try them!

Yep, I did try and throw as many brand names and models into that title as I could stuff. Lets see if that helps boots my search or if this one rides under the radar. Super excited to try other brands to see how they ride. Very few in this industry have that privilege. Super grateful to be among them.

William ... a question... you recomended before the vision Cabrinha 8 m² to me... I asked if it is flappy and you told me as all big wings they are flappy... So question is as this wing with 7.5 m² is almost the same size .. how do you rate the "flappiness" in comparison?

Great question...I want to avoid direct comparisons between brands. I will leave that fight to the people in the comments.🤣 I noticed some flex when pumping up, but this one was a bit foreign to me because of the boom. So I really could not dig as deep as I usually do, because I was not fully tuned into it. There is some flex. It is less than some wings because of the very large diameter of the leading edge. If you want to really avoid the flex, special materials wings are the way to go. High PSI and a small firm leading edge is worth the extra if you are looking for all out performance. That big leading edge is also why my Flymount kept dropping off. It was hard to get a good grip on it.

@@foilfanatic While I understand your point of not wanting to be engaged in brand issues, I would like to express my thoughts and observations. I recently purchased the Vision 7 m² after hearing from you that it was somewhat flappy but surprisingly rigid considering its size. However, I have encountered a couple of issues. Firstly, I find the dehydral difficult for tacking compared to the Mantis, despite Damien's claim that the Vision is easier in this aspect. Secondly, I have noticed that the wing feels flappy, which is not ideal for me, and it has left me unsatisfied. Since I don't have the opportunity to test other equipment and make a fair brand comparison, I simply wanted to gain a better understanding of my observations without resorting to bashing any particular brand. Therefore I am disappointed of not getting the clean feed back I would have expected because I know one side and your vision of both sides would help me to understand better the wing I have.

@@christoph4333 I get it. I tend to add a 1 psi more than what is recommended when flying wings myself. In some cases, that might void my warranty, but has been worth it in the end. It adds to the stiffness. 7 and 8M wings in general are not stiff. I had no issue with the 8M Vision. I found it pretty manageable for the size. If you watch the videos of me on a Vison and this video of the Javelin, you will see the Javelin was not flapping as hard as the Vision. But, I was digging in way harder in the Vision clips. I did not have the Javelin long enough to really compare it. I did not dig that deep with the Javelin.....the conditions were within 3mph of each other, maybe closer. But those are threshold winds. Other things come into play, like wave direction, period, chop, and height....8M wings are pretty crazy to flag out in general. It is manageable, but a challenge. I never noticed a big difference from the Mantis. So, it is all subjective. Best advice I can give is: try and find a demo before buying.

@@christoph4333 just realized, I could not dig super deep because when I did, I would pump so hard the camera would go flying off. Why did that happen? Giant leading edge. Rule of thumb, the bigger the leading edge, the more stiff. More drag too, but it should be stiffer than wing of the same size with a smaller leading edge.

@@foilfanatic i understand that. Testing would be the best.. but no way here in Brazil... So I really appreciate your additional explanation... Thanks
