Honestly bro….I can see where your dad is coming from. He’s a hard working man, spent his whole life working, and he doesn’t want to give that up. He can’t just live on your money. Your dad is a hell of a dude, I wish I could just sit and have a beer with him.

Also, one day this RUclips thing will all burn down, and Jessie will be living off of his savings, so giving his dad the 500k-1mil he needs to retire might not be a good idea

My dad grew up on a farm so work is all he knows. After 38 years of teaching, he retired and was working at Home Depot two months later. 15 years next month. He doesn't have to work, he just either loves it so much or doesn't know anything else.

He’s a smart man, Jessie should give more of the money to his mom😂 Then she can spoil the both of them till he retires. He’s gotta be close to retirement . Probably could’ve retired years ago, a lot of people who continue working even after they can retire.

its different for guys like that. work keeps him in line and running like a well oiled machine. once people retire, they dont have anything to do really because at an older age, sports arent as easy as they used to be in your 20s and 30s. theres a saying that a lot of people who stop working or retire, their body starts shutting down and they die sooner. jesses dad is correct here. if hes able to work, why stop?

Jeff comes from that generation that really believes in hard work. Coming from the generation that preceded that and having parents and grandparents like him I can relate. Some people need to keep working, even if its something like cutting lawns, well into their retirement because its boring to no do anything or feel accomplished.

Things will come around eventually Jess. Your father sees what your trying to do for him, it's just a very big leap for something only pertaining to his personal happiness, a happiness and freedom that he'll carry for the rest of his life. So yes, he more then likely won't accept it right now cause of the suddeness and massive size of your statement. Just give him time, and later on show him numbers and proof that you *can* do it.
This is a really nice and admirable thing your doing Jess. Much love. 💙

This makes me so happy. You getting to do what’s right and take care of your parents is everyone’s dream. I thank you for doing this altho it’s not benefiting me. Seeing one of the stars of my childhood that actually put work into their career makes me feel like I’ve just achieved something. Not saying other people don’t put hard work into their content, just some people get it with a snap of their fingers and the next morning their famous. You built your career. I grew up on your channel, was my favorite channel of all time and still is. I’m 20 now.
Try to convince your dad to take the offer or at-least take on less hours or not as hard of a job that still benefits healthcare and his potential needs so he’s satisfied. I lost my dad December 26th and this was one of my goals growing up. Unfortunately I didn’t get to do it and watching this made me cry. I don’t even think I’ll be able to do it for my mom. I get all these crazy ideas to do something and my disabilities stop me.

Well my son has dropped off but I am still here lol
It’s obvious your family are proud of you and love and support you. I watched you retire your mum too - that was beautiful. So now I continue to watch the rest of this vlog with tissues on hand 🤧
*** now I have watched it , Jesse I feel how hard it was for your dad to reject your offer. Maybe now isn’t the right time for him to “retire” in his mind and it’s obvious he still wants to provide for the family and still wants to work. He wants you to worry about your mum, you and Ashley for now. Jess you did what you felt in your heart and ya he didn't accept it, but believe you me he knows your hearts is in the right place and he loves you for that, but when a man works all his life for his family well honestly that's all they know how to do is work. My father also didn't except the fact that he needed to retire, to them taking there job away feels like his not needed any longer and they don't know what to do with themselves, at least thats how my dad was, he still would get up ever morning at 5 am and work around the house fixing everything till about 4 or 5 pm. Mom and dad just passed away in 2020 mom left us then dad right after he missed mom to much she was 90, he was 93yrs old, they were married for 70 yrs. Never stopped, always doing something. So I'm thinking as long as they say they have a job, there still needed and wanted. Isn't that what we all want just to make a difference in someone life to be relevant. So Jess what you can do is just live your life and show your father, you can and will continue making money, be focus. Show him that you will make it no more let downs you got this bro. Peace.

Listen Jesse, I know you want to do him this favor and you’re wholesome for that. But the thing is, a man doesn’t stop working till he can’t no more. So let him do his things and when he feels the time is right, he’ll past that touch up to you. He’s still an amazing father and he’ll keep being the father. Love y’all

His dad is used to work, his entire life, so it is alright that he declines the offer because he knows nothing else but work and that is a lifestyle for some people and sometimes all we can do is just respect it! :)

I just recently lost my dad 5 months ago. He was a lot like your dad, worked 120 hours weeks, never really took a break for 30 years. He retired last year but ended up with several organ failures due to alcoholism. Ascites, liver, kidney. Hee never got to settle down and enjoy his retirement. He bought a boat for himself but sold it quickly to move my mom and myself down south. To see this video hurts a ton but the emotion is raw and I understand as a son what this means.

Dont me mad at him for not expecting, you knew he really was touched and flattered by your offer but he flat out told you something. He just enjoys the work, it keeps him busy/on a schedule and he likes to know him his wife and family will be more than financially covered until the end. Please dont take it the wrong way, my dad is the same way. I think lots of people from his generation are the same way. they have worked their whole lives its what they do and know best. Your workaholic of a dad might become restless and need new things to do if he suddenly stopped working and had the rest of his life as free time. My Poppop still drives around and works at 89 years old, even while being more than well off being able ti have retired years before. Some people just have to work they need something to do and your dad is one of those people. I dont think its necessary an awful thing too rather have that then be lazy and have no goals. Dont take it the wrong way jessie you saw him get a little emotional he cared that you offered and cares about you. Hes stubborn, as you said and is hesitant of change.❤️
