Walked from Ventnor to Sandown along the coast path through the landslip and caught the bus back while on holiday October 14th. 2 months later this happened. Unbelievable.
Sad, I guess that's nature at work. I went into the lower landslip from the Luccombe side on February 2nd and the wishing seat is still there. The slip is about 40-50 metres beyond. There was also a slip on the Luccombe side of Luccombe Chine and one in Shanklin.. I am told that Luccombe Chine House, Which incidentally is up for sale, is built on bedrock.which hopefully includes the Victorian wishing seat which isn't far away. Luccombe Chine has two tributary's . One runs under the house and the other hits further down as a waterfall, A couple of nice Victorian terraces, iron tables and chairs. All lost and overgrown last time i passed a couple of years ago . I saw it all restored by the gardener there around 2006.
@@derekfarrellmusicontheisleofwi thank you for the info. I see the devils Chimney is still there albeit lower than it used to be. I guess in time if it becomes stable there will be new growth and a whole new area to be explored
It's insane how much volume of ground space dropped here and it's sad for those in the area. I plan to come here possibly tomorrow and do a video.
Here there are forests and seas, trees and water. Although it is wild, it is very interesting. 8:52
Another lovely part of the Island between Shanklin and Ventnor, one of my favourite areas being slowly washed away.
