- In this tutorial, I'll show you how to make a DIY pineapple out of paper, origami style! This is a fun paper craft you can do for the summer.
This cute, little pineapple is traditionally made with red envelopes (red packets) for Chinese New Year (Lunar New Year) as home decoration. It requires 38-square Red Envelopes/Hong Pao/Lai See/Ang Pau/紅包 and 10 sheets of green paper. But, luckily, it's great for summer too! :-)
For tutorial purposes, I used colored copy paper (38 yellow, 10 green) so that it's easier to see on camera. :-)

I am making this right now but did you use real origami paper or just regular colour paper?
I used colored copy paper to make the pineapple, but you can use origami paper if you want to. :)

Wonderful designs thank you. What thickness of paper would you recommend? Specific origami paper is expensive here in France, so I'm hoping I can use simple coloured paper, but need to confirm the weight. Thank you
Sam's music Hi Sam, Thank you for your comment. Yes, you can just use regular computer paper. I know origami paper can get very expensive. I actually used computer paper, as well. Have fun making it! Don't forget to take a picture and share it. :-)

If you don't want to wait that long for it to dry you can use hot glue instead
