I wish that you were actually drawing Hagar the Horrible for the newspapers. My favorite comic strip from the 1970s and 80s, but the guy who draws it now is... not good. Wish they could hire someone who had talent like Dik Browne did. Its like Andy Capp, another strip that I love that is made by robots now.

Well you can always contact King Features, let them know about my video, send a link. The more people do this, the more they will pay attention. I also did a video about me drawing Andy Capp. It's in my playlist if you'd like to see it. ruclips.net/p/PLquEszTktaUQKP0Q51DQFQgqs5wZSavwj

A Karl Dixon cartoon will always be unmistakably a Karl Dixon comic - but you are clever in your choices and this strip suits you.
Can’t wait for “ID” - that’s a favorite of mine

Thank you. I have always loved Hagar. Hopefully, it won't be too long before I do the Wizard of Id

I would love that so much. Just need King Features to feel it, too. But thank you anyway.

This was amazing. I've loved Hagar since I was a small kid. And even though you drew the strip in your style, it was very close to the way Dik Browne drew him. (Chris told me that the character of Hagar is based on Dik, who was a large, red-headed fellow. The family started calling him that long before the comic strip debuted.) Chris' passing was a tragedy, as he was a nice guy and willing to give would-be cartoonist as much advice as he could. As for you taking over the strip: That would be perfect! I'll definitely contact King Features and tell them they should give you a try. This has been my favorite video you've produced yet!

That's very kind of you, and please do contact King Features. You never know. I loved Hagar from the start. There was just something about the way he drew it and the economy of writing that set him apart; also the way that the pupil over took the teacher: I think I'm right in saying that he eventually out sold Beetle Bailey. Chris actually sent me a friend request when I was on Facelessbook, and I was deeply honoured when he told me he was a fan of my art. We had a few chats over a period of time, and I always found him gracious and kind with his time. A true gent. I'm glad you enjoyed the video.

Hi Jason. The size I work at is 37cm wide by 11cm deep and then divide it up to suit your needs. I also give the dividing gullies half a centimetre
