Exactly, they cannot even get the simple things right. Multi billion dollar company, yet their newer games that they just recycle are full of lazy bugs. What was your first Call Of Duty?
I believe these algorithms are designed to maximize profits from certain players. Since 2019, I've hardly spent any money on microtransactions, and I'm considering canceling my Xbox Game Pass subscription due to the overly strict SBMM in BO6. It's concerning to feel the algorithms altering the gaming experience, and it's even more alarming to think that one day the manipulation might become imperceptible, potentially eroding what makes online multiplayer games distinct from single-player games.
@@brunsonbruh I am so sorry that it happened, I did not know anyone would have seen it by then. Was meant for today. But I will upload another one soon.
they fucked up the retention algo cuz after maybe 4 months of mw3 i gave up and vowed to never play ever for free any new cod or activision game ever again its utter trash they did not manipulate me into playing longer they forced me to quit
Man, I feel you. It sounds like you’ve been playing COD since the golden days too? Same here, and honestly, the game just doesn’t hit anymore. It doesn’t make me want to grind like I used to-it makes me want to quit every single time. Back then, I’d happily grind the Battlepass and camos for hours. Now? It’s just not fun anymore. I’m actually editing a video about how games today feel like they’re feeding into brainrot, like TikTok-level dopamine loops. Especially in multiplayer-it’s all about chasing that one good game in this endless cycle of engagement. It’s exhausting. Years ago, I could feel how these games started shifting how we interact with each other, but I thought it was just me not having as much time to “sweat” anymore. Turns out, I’m still just as skilled, but now I’m a casual player who built those skills over years. These days, I’m stuck in this repetitive loop, playing game after game, hoping the next match will bring back that old magic. But it never does. And because I’m not hooked on that brainrot dopamine cycle, I just feel burnt out. No other game makes me feel this way, except maybe Valorant-which I’ve also quit because it’s the same engagement trap. We’ll never get that authentic gaming experience back unless some dev out there has the guts to ditch SBMM. Let the unskilled players learn or leave, and bring back real, unpredictable gameplay. I miss the days when gaming was a hobby to relax with after work, not a chore that drains you. Thanks for sharing your thoughts-it’s good to know I’m not the only one who feels this way.
I totally agree. I had the same feeling when I stopped playing Valorant. I peaked at Platinum 2 after 1.5 years (never played CSGO before), and I was really proud of that. People would ask how long I had played CSGO, even though I hadn't. But after that, I always felt like I wasn't improving anymore in Valorant. It didn’t matter if I was playing with friends who had never touched the game or if I was just trying to play casually. The SBMM system just drove me crazy. You could feel that it was keeping you stuck at your current level for as long as possible. Since I stopped, I’ve never had that "wtf" moment again, and I’m sleeping better now too. The algorithms behind the SBMM are the issue. You feel like you are being controlled, and that is unhealthy yes!
i wonder how the game adjusts when i play 8 hrs a day xd usually when i start the game day it welcomes me with some tough matches, wanting me to finally get some dopamine rush after getting a good K/D
Great question! The algorithm doesn’t just focus on one single factor-it’s a mix of many things. It looks at how much you play, when you play, and when you log off. So if you play every day, say 2 hours in the evening, the game picks up on that pattern. For me, it’s the same-my first round might be fine, but after that, the game just seems to rail me to keep me hooked. It gets frustrating, and I usually end up quitting after about an hour. Think of it like this: if you play from 8-10pm daily, the game can predict when you're about to log off. It might then try to match you with worse players or drop you into a game that’s already in progress, hoping you'll have a good moment and keep playing. It's not always guaranteed, but that's the goal. And all of these mechanics work together with many other factors. At the end of the day, the game just wants you to play as much as possible and stay engaged, pushing you toward purchases along the way.
Oh, they definitely are! The thing is, many newer gamers and younger players don’t really feel that, since they’ve never experienced the authentic lobbies and games from back in the day. For them, it’s normal now. Being "bad" or "below average" is just part of the experience, and the same goes for being highly skilled. Casual players seem to enjoy the game more often, and I’m sure they really do enjoy it, so they don’t really have a reason to hate on it. But it’s the skilled players who get the short end of the stick. They’re the ones who are being affected by it because high-skilled players are why "noobs" left in the first place. And now, SBMM is the reason why at least 3 people leave every match. At least. You’re stuck playing the same repetitive trash every game, every day. And I get it. The majority of gamers out there are casual gamers. Why keep bothering about high-skilled players? If we dont come back, thats alright. But if the casuals leave, that means less revenue. All about securing the bag.
Wydm by the game “sensing you” and “sensing your time” like it’s reading your mind or something? I’m confused on what you mean by this. Also I am somewhat confused about the “suggest buying gear from in game store” . The items are cosmetic and games selling cosmetics is very normal and common in every game. Another thing I’m unsure about is the “tweaking enemy behaviours” is that even possible like the players you are fighting are real people so how are enemy behaviours going to be changed. They can’t make everyone win. Overall I think this video is very vague but maybe that’s just me. This video just sounds like a conspiracy theory video 😭 This isn’t a hate comment please don’t get it confused, I watched this video twice just to make sure I didn’t miss anything.
I guess you could call it that. It’s funny how it works-when you're playing alright, you get decent spawns. But as soon as you start doing really well and die, it’s like the game punishes you. You’ll spawn right in the line of sight of 2-3 enemies and die instantly, or enemies will spawn right behind you. By the time you realize the spawns have shifted, you’re already dead. I just uploaded a new video where I talk about the "brain rot" and the kind of engagement people seem to crave nowadays. It's all about constant, non-stop engagement, and since this algorithm keeps players hooked, I wouldn’t be surprised if Activision and other companies tweak their patents and games to keep people stuck in that dopamine cycle. I am so glad I am not stuck in this. For me, these games get boring really fast, I do not enjoy it at all. And since I dont crave these fast engaging things, I just leave the game.
@ I just started he-1 grind yesterday and noticed that when I was dying over and over it was spawning me on enemy spawn while the rest of my team was still spawning normally. Assuming they wanted me to get a quick Tripple kill or something lol keep me playing
Exactly, that’s exactly what it’s doing. And if you deny it, you’re just being delusional. I’m not saying everyone experiences it the same way-there are definitely people who aren’t as sensitive to these changes-but I sure am. I notice when I keep spawning at the same spot 20 times after dying, and then suddenly, out of nowhere, I get 3-4 spawns behind the enemies, and bam, I get 2-3 kills with each spawn, which brings my KD back to a 1. I can't stress this enough-while you can't expect everyone to dive into patents and read between the lines, the lobbies are being customized in real-time. It’s all about engagement. Younger players fall for it 9 out of 10 times. They’ve grown up with it. We didn’t. Or at least, we can feel that something’s trying to control us. They grew up with battlepasses to keep you engaged, and I grew up with authentic lobbies, that made me improve over weeks, months, years.. and did not let me rot in SBMM/EOMM cycle.
i wonder how people still play this shit , i literally saw the patent while bocw and once i got 3 hitmarkers with the sniper and never went back since ... WyySoSirius made me discover the patent and shills saying oh its sbmm , 99% of people dont know about this patent
I can't stress this enough, it's honestly disgusting. I'm not saying we have concrete proof that this stuff is in the game, but there are so many players feeling the same way. The ones defending it? Either the hardcore casuals that Activision is clearly catering to (which is totally fine, by the way), or those who praise Call of Duty no matter what. I've always been a huge COD fan, and I've trashed on Battlefield for years. I used to joke that BF was for older players, for those who don't have the skill because it's slower-paced... But here’s the thing - I started with Battlefield BC2, then BF3, BF4, BF1, BFV, and all the way to 2042 - which I thankfully skipped. EA completely ruined that game, no doubt about it. I was doing things with the Littlebird, oh boi .. Locker 24/7 or the sniping in BFV. Loved it! But here's what I really want to say: I used to praise COD endlessly, trash talk BF... but now, I actually enjoy Battlefield way more than COD. I only come back to COD because of the nostalgia, but let's be real, that feeling is never coming back. Maybe I should make a whole video explaining how I got here, but honestly, there's always going to be people who can't think critically about it. And imo, people who still play this daily are either content creators, the pure casuals and their protected lobbies, or (little) brainrot kids who got influenced by TikTok and have short-term memory and a huge lack of dopamine. And theyre just playing and playing not realizing theyre being manipulated.

What do you think about these real-time adjustments and the way Activision uses our data in games like Black Ops 6? Do you feel like the gameplay has become more artificial? Do you agree that it’s all a big cash grab, or do you think there are some benefits to this kind of customization? Drop your thoughts below-I'd love to hear if anyone else feels the same way!
It’s an interesting topic, for sure. I love diving deep into things that catch my attention. The reality is, companies file tons of patents-just because they’re filed doesn’t mean those features are actually in the game. We don’t know for sure, but they could explain why the game feels the way it does. It’s all about reading between the lines. The same goes for SBMM and EOMM. There aren't patents specifically for those terms, but Activision has filed a lot of patents, including updated ones that could affect the game and impact our experience. We know SBMM is real, but there’s a lot more going on, especially when it comes to engagement. I just uploaded a new video where I dive into this and want others to think about how it connects to gaming. The usual “brain rot” where it’s not about enjoying the game-it’s about following the algorithm. You’re being played, all for the sake of manipulating dopamine levels. Casual, authentic gaming is long gone. Let me know what you think and thanks for leaving a comment!
@@xreve_ Honestly, in the beginning, I was enthralled with the new COD. But after getting raped by the exact way you're talking about the gameplay loop, I've gotten tired of it and I haven't played it at all in the last week or two. I got diamond on SMGs and a lot of golds but I really couldn't care less to play it anymore because of this cancer. It sucks as a longtime COD fan to want to abandon it so quickly.
A little protip: not every patent is used. Prolly 60% of all the patents never see broad adoption. For example: I dont get gear suggestions in BO6. Do you? And if there would be SB-damage, you could proof it, since the damage numbers are shown on the leaderboard. But you can't, otherwise you would have done it already. Is the game good? No. But I hear way to much emotion and no real factual evidence.
I get where you're coming from, but let me clarify a few things. You’re right that not all patents are used, but that’s not the point here. It’s about the possibility that these patents and algorithms could be in play, even if they aren’t overtly visible. The gear suggestions in BO6, for example, are part of a much bigger picture. The game isn't just suggesting things for fun-it’s subtly guiding players toward microtransactions, which can have a huge impact on gameplay and player behavior. I don’t need that, and I’m sure many others don’t either. Gear suggestion would be the store in game. As for skill-based damage, you're missing the broader issue. It's not just about seeing damage numbers on a leaderboard. The real issue is how the game feels manipulated at times-whether that’s packet loss, desync, or changes in performance that seem to affect players in different ways. Sure, no one can prove it right now, but that doesn’t mean it's not happening. If it were easy to prove, it would have been done already. The fact that players can’t point to hard evidence doesn’t invalidate the feeling that something is off. The system in place makes it difficult for anyone to definitively prove it, but the community is starting to see through it. It is a term that was created to explain this phenomena. And about the need for "factual evidence" to have an opinion-well, that’s a bit too rigid. Feelings matter, too. When I say the game is bad, I’m speaking from my own experience. Emotion doesn’t automatically make someone’s view less valid. In fact, it can often lead to deeper insights into what's wrong with the system. We don’t always need to back up everything with data; sometimes, the community’s collective experience is enough to recognize patterns that go beyond the surface. So, before dismissing other people’s opinions or experiences, maybe try to think about the broader picture-what’s happening in the game, what players are feeling, and how it all connects. Just because you can’t see it doesn’t mean it’s not there. But I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment on my video. If you're looking for real factual evidence, like researching the game’s netcode and offset structures, I’m not the guy. My goal here is just to publicly share what I’m feeling and raise awareness about certain things that are affecting the experience for many players. I’m not claiming to have all the answers or concrete proof. I'm simply voicing my thoughts on the situation, and sometimes starting a conversation is the first step to bringing attention to these issues. Thanks again for engaging, and I hope we can keep this dialogue going.
@@trossity9930 Exactly, I completely agree. That’s a really interesting way to put it! The problem is that they hold these patents, leaving consumers in the dark. All we can do is base our theories on what those patents suggest and if they are implemented to some degree. To some extent, these patents could provide an explanation for the issues we’re experiencing.
@@xreve_ Yeah, not sure about this one mate. If you're making a positive claim towards something, factual evidence is the only thing that is a determinant on whether that thing is true or not. Feeling like the Earth is flat gives no credence to the claim, and I am not wasting my time hearing someone argue something without factual premises or evidence to the conclusion. Just basic argumentation, basic truth seeking behaviour.
@@recondite-raven7606 I think there’s a misunderstanding here. What I’m sharing is my personal opinion and experience with the game, not a definitive, objective claim that requires factual evidence. Opinions are subjective and don’t need to be ‘proven’-they’re based on individual feelings, observations, and interpretations. And luckily I am not the only one feeling that way. Your example about the Earth being flat is a claim about an objective fact, so of course it needs factual evidence. But when I say something like 'this game feels manipulated' or 'I don't enjoy it because of these patterns I notice,' that’s my subjective take, not a scientific assertion. It’s fine if you don’t value opinions without hard evidence, but I’d argue that personal experiences and feelings-especially when shared by many players-can highlight potential issues worth discussing. Not every conversation needs to be purely evidence-based to be meaningful. Sometimes, shared opinions are how we identify broader trends and open the door for deeper investigation. If you don’t like my approach or don’t accept that personal opinions can have value, that’s okay-but in that case, you’re not obligated to watch my videos. My content is for people who appreciate a mix of personal experiences, discussion, and raising awareness of potential issues. Hope that explains my POV a bit better.
You know what they say-data is the new gold... and Activision definitely needs it to fine-tune that SBMM of theirs. They're probably sitting on piles of data like a dragon hoarding treasure, all to make sure every match feels like a "fair challenge" (aka the algorithm's favorite way to ruin your day). Without that sweet data, how could they improve our gaming experience? It’s all about balancing the chaos, one data point at a time, making sure the OGs are never coming back and making sure, that average players will not get destroyed by players, who were higher skilled. It is hilarious.
Play zombies.. cod pvp multiplayer is a braindead selfish mode. It has little to no teamwork and rewards stomping aka killstreaks. Compare that to tactical shooters like csgo where comms are a must
Unfortunately, that's what gaming has turned into. I really feel for the newer generation of gamers and the younger audience. Games used to be something special, whether single-player or multiplayer-authentic, casual, and impactful! Now, it’s just the same recycled content year after year, and somehow, people still find a way to buy the same stuff over and over again. Only to keep you hooked and coming back. Instead of making actual games that people love and will come back to, companies rely on algorithms to keep engagement high - its sickening if you ask me.

If you wanna talk about proof then you have no proof it's not used either. The fact that the patent even exists proves intent at the very least.
TTTHHEEEEE DDAAAAAATAAAAA 🤓🤓 me and the squad hate Activision
You know what they say-data is the new gold... and Activision definitely needs it to fine-tune that SBMM of theirs. They're probably sitting on piles of data like a dragon hoarding treasure, all to make sure every match feels like a "fair challenge" (aka the algorithm's favorite way to ruin your day). Without that sweet data, how could they improve our gaming experience? It’s all about balancing the chaos, one data point at a time, making sure the OGs are never coming back and making sure, that average players will not get destroyed by players, who were higher skilled. It is hilarious.
I have hacks i played activision
That is an interesting approach :D Are you shadow-banned already? Do you play against other cheaters by now?
Play zombies.. cod pvp multiplayer is a braindead selfish mode. It has little to no teamwork and rewards stomping aka killstreaks. Compare that to tactical shooters like csgo where comms are a must
All games are a tailored artificial experience designed for you to play, duh.
@xreve_
Try Stellar Blade, Black Myth Wukong, Astro Bot, Helldivers 2, or Space Marine 2. Those are recent games I've enjoyed.
I agree there's a lot of BS in gaming these days, for sure. We gotta vote with our wallets. Support the good stuff, let the bad stuff flop
