Watched this about a year ago as a Protestant kicking the tires on Catholicism, this was one of many Catholic ministries that helped me make the plunge. As the Lord would have it, I met with a local parish priest to ask a series of questions, and as we where leaving and I had made my mind up about making the conversion, he said, " oh, and by the way, RCIA starts this Sunday, come on if you want". This being one of the strangest years of my existence, unfortunately because of Covid I wasn't confirmed on Easter Vigil per the tradition, but I was confirmed on Pentecost, which is very significant in my life. So to make a round trip back to the topic of this series, I came from a very charismatic background, but came to a point in my journey trying to find a church just seemed impossible. So much relevance and post modernism in the Protestant world. I attended my first Mass on Mother's Day of 2019 and the rest is history. Smells, bells ,veils. Contemplative, structural, tools galore. And best of all, our Lord in the Eucharist.
Good stuff man. Growing up catholic (I couldn't stand it, because I never really understood it. I was non-denominational for the majority of my life, and then when becoming a young adult in college I pretty much forsook Christianity altogether. Two years ago I found myself going to reconciliation with one of my brothers in a catholic church and I had such a peace leaving it. Around this time my grandfather (who I was close to and who was catholic) passed away. His funeral was in a catholic church and this priest came up and gave me a hug. I had no clue who he was, but it was one of the most peaceful moments of my life as well, during a time I was really hurt. That priest turned out to be the priest that confirmed me and is my pastor to this day. Diving into catholicism has brought me so much closer to God, and the power and sacredness of the sacraments has changed the way I look at Christianity all together. So..... TLDR...... I'm right there with you man. This series is life changing, and I look forward to a day where we can all be under one banner of Christianity, and all the fake catholics, non catholics, and non Christians can all find the power of the sacraments and beauty of catholicism.
I've been diagnosed with an aggressive small cell lung cancer. I've finished with the Radiation & Chemo. Many people have been praying for me. I experienced few side effects and I've told anyone & everyone I know it is due to all the prayer. My prayer for myself from the start is "Your Perfect Will, Lord". I have been very peaceful and your talk has told me why...I have no fear because God's perfect love casts out all fear. My Cat scan has shown additional spots. I'm scheduled for a Brain Scan since this cancer readily moves into the brain. Also, I will have another Pet Scan which will show if these new spots are cancerous. I received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit when I was 33 yrs old, which was 39 years ago. A dear friend is praying that I will amaze the doctors. I pray that somehow, whatever happens, this will bring my husband & oldest son & family to the Lord. Your preaching is so uplifting, thank you.
This is unreal So beautiful I will be showing this series To my 8th grade catechism class Father the Holy Spirit is in you. I cried three time during your talk. Love you Father. Franciscans Rock!!!!!
Come Holy Spirit come! This Wild Goose series is so very good. I need the Holy Spirit and all his gifts, especially that of wisdom to reside in my heart. Help me Holy Spirit with making decisions. Help me to trust in you and Jesus more than I already do and know that your will be done.
I led The Wild Goose during the pandemic on zoom in 2021. I’m running this starting May 31. Come Holy Spirit! Thank you Father Dave Pivonka and God bless you in your ministry.
Hi Father.... Just wanted to thank you for this awesome message "God's Love Poured Out" Segment #1... as we are already one week into Lent, I just felt that I hadn't satisfied my heart in my first week of Lent. I wanted this year for Lent to be so real in my heart and that I could show God how much I loved him, but just changing a few things for lent. Your message to me was so strong Father and I thank you for that. The gift that our Lord has given you to share with all of us about him, is so profound. Thank you... I look forward to continuing my Lenten journey with the Lord in these RUclips segments. Praise God for you Father and for your daily intentions and that he continues to bless you each and every day..
I am SO incredibly thankful for my spiritual director giving me all 14 of these videos from this series. I was at the beach praying with God and this was a few hours before I watch the video… What came to my heart was what I said allowed was GOD is love and without even realizing it or knowing the first title of this video was “GOD is Love” which is such a GOD Moment! ✝️🕊❤️
..it is really sad when we don't believe God's love to us... He die for me, what else can i ask of Him?.. His cross is His evidence of how He loves all of us.. love Him. Jesus, i trust in You!!!
I am famous for spontaneously, combusting into tears at any given moment during the mass. I think in the beginning Father was very concerned, and I assured him that the tears were for all of the years I wasn’t there I hadn’t practiced it didn’t matter. It matters now it matters more than I can say . I do the things that I want to do with a full and open heart. I didn’t understand the Holy Spirit until I heard you talk about it and I listened for 90 days and you went away and then you were back three days later I was almost coming out of my skin and even if it’s the same thing every 90 days, I don’t care I wanna hear it. I need to hear it. We need to remember. For all those years when things were going so wrong, so terribly wrong. I completely forgot that there was a God who loved me. I won’t forget it again.
I am a convert from Protestantism. I am familiar with the emotionalism of Pentecostalism. It was a huge turn-off for me. What I love about the Catholic faith is that is doesn't matter what you "feel". I was Baptized. I was Confirmed. I have the Holy Spirit. Each time I receive the Eucharist, sanctifying grace is increased in my soul. It doesn't matter if I get a goose bump or a nice feeling. Catholicism is a religion of Sacraments. There is no such thing in Catholicism as being "baptized in the Holy Spirit". This is a Protestant novelty from the 1800's.
God’s Love poured out and my response to Him each day. Thank You! “Send forth your spirit, they are created and you renew the face of the earth.” Psalms 104:30 We live in an instant world that expects instant results, is the Holy Spirit instant? Jesus spent three years preparing the Apostles before they received the Holy Spirit. The apostles waited upon the Holy Spirit and spent a life time perfecting the gifts of the Holy Spirit. The movements of the Holy Spirit are subtle, we do not always perceive the changes but if we are being obedient to His will, they are happening. I believe we expect dramatic results and though they are dramatic, it takes time for them to take root and we don’t always recognize them. Nothing happens in our lives until we take time and sit in the stillness of the day and be in His presence, this is giving the Holy Spirit the opportunity to move within us. He begins to renew our world and we are allowing Him the opportunity to transform it. You should try it, it is exhilarating! What is God saying to me: it takes conscious effort to hear My voice, you must be still and focus, even with all the noise that surrounds you, I am there. Dear Triune God, You have moved mountains in my life and continue to do so, I thank You for revealing the Advocate to me and for the grace to seek You out each day. I pray for a world in need of the stillness drowning in noise. Send forth Your Holy Spirit and renew the minds and hearts of Your people. Thank You Father for this past several days, they have been joyful and filled with happy moments. May the Holy Spirit make His presence known in the life’s of the faithful. I ask this in Jesus name, Amen. Mary, Spouse of the Holy Spirit, pray for us. ruclips.net/video/bzNhIvGuEIQ/видео.html Peace be with you! Happy Pentecost! We hope that this novena has been a sanctifying experience for you that has helped you to call on the Holy Spirit more. Now please join us for our final prayer -- the prayer we say at the end of every novena. :) Here are the prayers for today: Final Prayer Dear Lord Jesus, I have specific requests that may only partially fill the infinite needs and desires that are in my heart. I ask that You answer me not only for those requests but also for a greater reliance on You to satisfy the needs and desires that You have given me. Please grant the prayers of all those who prayed this novena with me. Bless them with Your love and make them holy! May I seek You with a sincere heart knowing that it will profit me nothing if I gain the whole world yet lose my soul. So, help me to see Your good and gracious purpose in all my trials. Help me to see Your blessings in every day and help me to love You more. Thank You for everything, Lord Jesus! Amen. www.dailythoughts.com Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. 1 John 4:4b
I wonder, what does this fellow -- nice fellow, to be sure -- think is the relationship between God's love actually being poured out into someone's heart and the person's subjective experience of that outpouring? He seems to be all focused on the subjective experience, so does he think those two things are the same? If he thinks those two things are the same, then his position clearly makes no sense. If he thinks they're different, why does he focus only on the subjective personal experience and ignore the actual divine reality? And what does he think of God's hate? Does he deny it, and so deny scripture? Or does he recognize that it is the other side of the coin of God's love, that God's love can manifest as hatred, just as all love can, since love hates that which destroys the good, it hates that which blasphemes what is holy, etc.? -Dave
