Ps; 2 days later I’m definitively fall in love with the MOJAVE. Thank you for this wonderful module. It’s better than I expected, and when i completely understood all functionality’s & their relationship the dream I haved in my head came true ❤. Another dimension is open. Thanks again QU-BiT, you have completely know what a music/live producer expect when he makes electronic music 🎶!!! 🙏🙏🙏
My journey with Qu-Bit Mojave. A blog post no one asked for. Attempt 1: Plug it in and mess around. Sounds bad. Can't make anything sound good. No idea what I'm doing. Why doesn't the clock input do anything? is it broken?? Attempt 2: Watch about 10 mins of this video, immediately put some cheesy reverby karplus-strong melody into mojave now armed with some brief info about how to actually use it... holy shit its incredible... it's SO GOOD and it makes the coolest like actually funky micro-rythyms when it's set to 20ms blip and Distribute around 2pm on the dial... Modulate that shit... Oh my fucking god it's so good...
What a beautiful module both in sound and physical design.. and I think I saw somewhere that you guys stepped up the unboxing experience as well. A small detail that I feel goes a long way for buyers. Since May, I told myself no more modules, and I've stuck to that.. but I may make an exception. 😇
Just looked at Molten Music Monthly and thought about the beauty of the backside of your resent modules. As an artist currently working as a framemaker I thought a limited number of these backsides could be framed, possibly with the lights, and then sold or auctioned for a good cause, but should definitely first be displayed in an art gallery. I know several visual artists who like me fell down the rabbit hole, probably to do with the blinking lights and those cables looking like scribbles when hooked up, but point is, we need to trick more artists to come down here.
I bought one and received it yesterday….! And I love it 😍. 2 hours to understand the functionality’s and sound’s behaviours. Today I’m exploring its insane possibilities, and have so much fun and surprises 😮!! Thanks QU-BiT, this module push the sound design to another level (I should say another dimension to be honest). 20/20 ❤❤❤
Sweet module, I’d love to see more quantised grain examples as I’m not quite convinced if I can implement it in a musical context, it seems difficult to get out of its stuttery unrhythmical behaviour, please convince me 😊
Thanks for watching! If you'd like to hear Mojave in some more musical contexts, check out our video with patch examples from the manual. Great stuff there, and I'm sure you'll find there's many musical uses! Enjoy! ruclips.net/video/N07rPhyKgZE/видео.html
And just when I thought I was done buying modules for a bit, along comes this monster things sounds ridiculous, love it, looks beautiful as well, grabbing one shortly
Great tutorial/presentation, looks like a very usable module, well thought out and functional. Very tempting! Sadly, this seems also a goodbye to Nebulae V2, which I'm sad to realise has been relegated to the Qu-Bit forgotten pile. I'd hoped that Qu-Bit would have updated some ideas in a new firmware (based on requests/suggestions) to make the module more useable, but sadly I suspect it's not going to happen😞.
Thanks for the kind words! :) As for Nebulae---(from previous comments--from Andrew Ikenberry) "We still have a Neb v2 update in the works! Mojave is not meant to replace Nebulae by any means, and we're still committed to supporting the older products in our line." Bottom line, they are fundamentally different modules. Nebulae works with samples and sample memory - Mojave is a live processor.
@@QuBitElectronix Great, that's sounds promising. And yes, I see that Mojave isn't meant to replace Nebulae. However, it sort of continues the research into granular territory, that has become a sort of holy grail in eurorack. 😉
I was wondering if this was a Beads killer, but I don't think so. They have much in common but I can see that I would use them differently and for different tasks as I think they have different advantages. Building a second case atm, a long moment that is, and was wondering whether to get a second Beads but don't think so now. Must get Data Bender first though.
We are working on a custom scales GUI for Narwhal where you can make your own scales! For now, we have an unquantized scaling that is in the Twilight Mode by default, and can be applied to any Sky Mode. With CV it can adjust pitch as little as a third of a semitone, and half a semitone turning the Speed or Structure knobs.
@@QuBitElectronix It's best to just have Scala tuning import over an GUI to make scales. JI requires us to be very precise. Please consider adding a just intonation easter egg for major and minor modes. Otherwise a large part of what makes this module exciting becomes unusable to people who don't work in 12 EDO. Maybe just a config file at the root of the USB drive where we can decide the exact note values (in cents) and the number of notes it quantises to, for each of the two quantised modes? Twelve tone equal temperament is a prison we need to break out of. We who design new musical instruments have this responsibility to history and to future listeners. Thank you!
What is the relationship between setting on the knob and corresponding cv input? Does the control voltage bypass the setting on the knob or does it modulate within the parameters set by it? Anyways wonderful module, like beads with a hint of data bender - I love it so much.
Planning to get one for my first ever eurorack! I am intrigued by the onboard mic capability and am envisioning to process my vocals. How do you sample the voice in the 'mic-check patch'?
@@ThMntnstyeah, that thread is taking too long to have a definite response from QUBit, so I think it will never get updated. Fair enough, although I hoped for a few bugfixes.
@@studio48nl Haha, yes, I'm indeed the last poster on said thread. - Looking closer at Mojave, it's of course not "the same thing but better", regarding the sampler-aspect for example, so nothing is impossible. Still I'm feeling let down a bit here by the time that has passed since getting the idea there would be something coming.

Looks fun but I feel like I'm hearing some zero-crossing clicking every now an then in the demo video. It's a big pet peeve in digital modules for me. 9:57
At around 15:04 you pull back and show using a case that very nicely fits all the Qu-bit modules. Could you please tell me what case you are using for this video?
Glad you noticed the case! It is a custom upholstered case affectionately called the "Pillow Case" here in our shop. Outside of that, it is a standard 6U, 104HP Eurorack case.
Hi @corticallarvae1067 - thanks for the questions! Max grains is 24, and fidelity and resolution for Qu-Bit modules is 48k, 32-bit internal processing with 24-bit hardware converters. Let us know if you have any more questions!
Thank you! Always appreciate feedback /opinions. Re: form over function - our LED panels are actually meant to improve function through interactive feedback connected to what you're doing on the knobs. ie: you can tell what the module is doing at a glance - which can be extremely helpful when there's a lot going on. They look great, but they're also really useful.

Watched Jeremy's video, and preordered! Any idea when the release date is?
They are shipping out our doors now! You can expect them in retailer shops around the world over the next week or so.
I LOVE this module! Old Nebulae fan here. Please please please implement quantisation in just intonation! This is *critical* for drone music :))))

In the mic-check patch, the voice is just spoken into the module. Easy peasy. :)

I guess this will rule out the Nebulae Granular instrument version 2?
At least it seems to have some of the features that were asked for by users in the corresponding forum-thread about a new firmware for the latter.

Is it a mic and a usb stick or either?😊
The mic is just above the USB drive, on Mojave!
@@QuBitElectronix does the usb drive host samples too?
Does speed always affect pitch? And can it be unquantized?
The Speed knob specifically affects the pitch of the grains. And yes, you can have an unquantized pitch range using Twilight Mode!

ha love it!
