  • The Vajolet Towers hike is one of the Dolomites best day hikes !
    The pleasant walk via Gardeccia to the Vajolet and Preuss mountain hut continues on the panoramic trail that provides a great view on the pinnacles of the Catinaccio Group.
    In Pera di Fassa, there is the little valley station of the two-tier Vajolet chairlift, taking us to the meadows of Pian Pecei (1,800 m). This is the starting point of our walk. The gently rising Via delle leggende (legend's trail) takes us to the hamlet of Gardeccia at almost 2,000 m asl. The route takes us deeper into the Valle di Vajolet, across the rocks of the Dolomites, up to the Rifugio Vajolet and the nearby Preuss mountain hut (2,210 m).
    Now we are directly at the famous Vajolet pinnacles, the rock towers that make up the striking shilouette of the Catinaccio mountain range. From here you can walk to the Rifugio Re Alberto or the Rifugio Passo Principe mountain huts. Due to the changing weather situation we decide to do a shorter tour, the panoramic trail, stretching at the foot of the Larsec pinnacles on the east side of the valley, ending at Gardeccia.
    There are some slippery and steep point along this trail, but in general it is rather easy for those who are experienced mountianeers. The view ranges to the southern Catinaccio mountain range, from the Vajolet pinncales to the Croda di Vaél. After the way down to Gardeccia via the Via delle Leggende, we take the chairlift that takes us back to the Val di Fassa.

    Beautifully shot but boring first 15 minutes, crowds and lots of commercial stuff in the foreground with beautiful mountains in the background. Last part really made up for it with really enjoyable images of the countryside. I would have loved a bit more footage on the remoter parts and telephoto shots of the peaks on the way up.

      Thanks Serg ! this was not planned i googled in the eara in find this location ;) i also learned something this year , Never use a variable ND on a ultra wide lens . . pff the sky is horrible , i used a Nisi true color VND , colors are good but the sky has got a dark blue corner at one side and sometimes a grey haizy sky , not easy to fix with HSL , used a Freewell ND8 but it has a yellow tint , now i gonna try Kase Wolverine 82mm ND8 Magnetic filter , hope this will fix all my problems ;) have a great weekend and thank you for your comment , Mark

    • @SergKhvostov
      @SergKhvostov 11 месяцев назад

      I bought a variable ND B+W, which distorts colors less than others. It can be used no wider than 18mm.
      I shoot mostly with Sony 16-35 PZ. But on walks I almost never use the variable ND.

    • @TheFlyingDutchMan8K
      @TheFlyingDutchMan8K  11 месяцев назад

      @@SergKhvostov never bought B&W products before , is the 35mm sharp on the 16-35-PZ ?

    • @SergKhvostov
      @SergKhvostov 11 месяцев назад

      I have B+W 1-5 stops. It has been released for a very long time, but even now it is better than most modern variable filters. It allows you to maintain maximum sharpness and distorts colors less than others (150 -350 kelvin), and the new Chinese have about 600 kelvin.
      Yes, this lens retains good sharpness at 35mm. I used to use a 16-35 Zeiss, whose sharpness dropped after 28mm.

      Me, I'm the boss in my opinion.
      How much did you spend for those two month? Only you alone or with your family?
      And, what is your age?
      It's not only about money but, also about age, health condition, wisdom, distance from that location, incomes, priorities, preferences, etc., if you understand this.
      Not to mention that for my 8k tv I spent only 1,500 euros, not a fortune and, I can watch good quality videos in the whole world, not only in Switzerland, from my house comfort, in hot summers and in freeze winters.
      By the way, have you ever watched a native 8k video on an real 8k tv?

    Wonderful images! Brought backs lots of memories. This is indeed one of the best hikes in the Dolomites, but... a recommendation to everyone. Don't go in August if you can, the path is so crowded it looks like strolling in central Rome. Best is first two weeks of July. Or, start very early in the morning, which means you need to be at the end of the "seggiovia" before it starts bringing up people from the valley. Also, if you are up for a very long hike (about 25 km) keep going after Vajolet until Rif. Passo Principe, then continue until Lake Antermoia, and descend until Campitello. But it is long and steep at times so don't even try if you don't have good legs.

      Thanks Leonard ! i hope you also like my evening walks :D i did some research about the dolomites : In the Jurassic Period, when large dinosaurs dominated the Earth, the sediment that accumulated on the seabed formed a layer of hundreds of metres that was compacted due to its weight, which then became solid limestone rock.
      In more recent times, starting from about 60 million years ago, the collision of the African and European tectonic plates deformed these ancient rocky sea floors, creating mountains even more than 3.000 metres high. Earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and the erosive force of wind, ice and rain finally sculptured the characteristic Dolomite landscape, creating a multitude of spires, towers, cliffs and pinnacles, also shaping cornices, edges, overhangs and plateaus.
      The Dolomites are therefore the extraordinary result of an ongoing geological process, which is still in progress today. During an excursion you can see signs of their turbulent past everywhere. The Sella mountain group, for example, which today towers majestically over the surrounding landscape, rose up from a single ancient coral reef. mark

    The old rugged cross!
    I hope everyone one watching can reflect on the sin in their life.
    Have you ever lied? Stolen (even something not worth much)?
    Looked with lust? (which jesus says is the same as committing adultery)
    Harbored great anger (hate) towards someone? (Jesus compares this to murder in Matthew 5:21-22)
    etc etc..
    The book of James says if we have broken just 1 of these commandments, then we are guilty
    of breaking all of them..
    Thats why God became a human, The Lord Jesus Christ. He lived that sinless life that no mere human
    could live. Why did he do that? to become the ultimate sacrifice for our sins.
    They nailed him to the cross where he bled and died (where the sacrifice was made). Then he rose from the dead 3 days later.
    Romans 10:9 says that whosoever confesses with their mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord, and believes that God raised him from the
    dead, they will be saved.
