    This is hella smooth, absolutely amazing.. The digital control makes it even crazier, very useful in a modern day hybrid setup. GREAT VIDEO ALWAYS @2probeats 👍

    Hi man! Hope you’re great.
    I used to own both VTC and SKM and except the recallability I thought their sound is very similar. What did you think?

    • @2probeats

      The SKM can do what the VTC does but the VTC can’t do all the things the SKM does.
      I also had the VTC and it’s an amazing compressor but the SKM is the next level. Cheers

      The SKM is a VTC with a digital sidechain, at similar settings they do sound more or less the same..although in vari mu mode the standard VTC was better to my ears ..but then couldn’t be recalled and didn’t have the other modes…which I more or less didn’t use much anyway.

    i dont get how this would work wired into a mastering chain

      What do you mean?

    Funny how you put a digital compressor in a hardware box, and everybody raves about how smooth and gluey it sounds. Sure there are tubes and transformers in this box, but it is just acting as a color/saturation box. Which means you can have that "analog glue" by using all the processors in the box and go analog only for saturation, instead of undless analog equipement mastering chain. Digital is up there if not better than analog these days !

      @2probeats  4 месяца назад +1

      I think you got it wrong. This is not a digital compressor. This is an analog compressor with all analog components. The "digital" is just the recall and the plugin plus the screen which I like.

      @@2probeats My bad. I am familiar with digitally controlled analog hardware like Wesaudio or the Creme RC. But I read in a review that the compression was done in digital domain before getting converted to analog and going through tubes and transformers, explaining the different modes / Timings etc. But I checked now the Tegeler website and it states it's an actual Vari-Mu with TIMING that is controlled in digital domain, which is different. The digital knobs recallability is one thing, the direct digital control of the behavior of the compression tubes is a whole another achievement. Bravo TEGEL.
