Hahaha I was hoping that was undistinguishable! I was hurt and surprised but at the same time thinking, “clean up your language, the viewers are here too!”
Very nice and peaceful hike and campsite. Interesting air mattress concept, saves your energy blowing it up at least. Thanks for sharing with us, glad your eyes checked out ok. As always enjoy your editing skills, stay safe and enjoy the journey!
Thank you so much! I’m so glad you appreciate it all those little things. I edited this video pretty much all of Monday and Tuesday, so you noticing stuff like that really makes it all worth it!
40 out of 50! Congrats! Badlands is definitely on my list, looks beautiful there. Glad your eyes are all good and you were able to successfully “dine and dash” at the Urgent Care. lol 😁 love them IPAA’s!!!
That was a great spot. When I left the Badlands just about two years ago the winds were so bad they let me park The Badlands Truck Stop in Kadoka for two days. Even the minivan seemed dangerous on the highway.
Thanks for the beautiful video of the Badlands. I haven't been through there in years. I actually went to High School in Rapid City (Hated it), but frequently went out to the Badlands. Thanks for the memories! Happy Trails!
I noticed the artificial tears were actually making things worse so now I just do Zyrtec and nose spray. I’m also further west now so I think that helps!
your videos are my inspiration to visit the 50 states whilst living in a minivan, But instead of trying local beer i attent a local whiskey tasting. My only worry is I currently have a cat that isn't exactly stoked to be in a vehicle. I hope to train her on a harness and car rides before my lease ends next august. In the meantime your exploration videos can add on to the inspiration! Thanks for the amazing content!
Oh that’s awesome! You’ll definitely have your choice of whiskeys in Kentucky! As for your kitty, I hope things work out! That would be a really cool traveling companion
Great video! Love the Badlands. (re: your question of how to measure .5 mile off trail): You can use your own footsteps as a measuring stick... I think half a mile is about 800 meters. (Pardon some geekitude here...) If you can learn your pace count--that is: how many steps you take in 100 meters (perhaps it's around 70 every-other steps; counting every other step helps to simplify the counting), you could use pace count beads (or 'Ranger beads') to keep track of how many of your paces you take. For every 100 meters you hit per your established pace count, pull a bead down...and when you get to 8 beads you've hit 1/2 mile or 800 (804 really) meters. I know...Fun, right? Haha. I can send you a free set, cuz I make em!
You're actually doing it friend. Keep up the good spirits!!!
Thank you!
@@BeerinBeautifulPlaces omg you're so welcome! Please be safe out there ❤️🤍💙
Glad you didn't hurt yourself too bad in the fall. Drove through that area years ago. I'll have to go back and do some exploring.
Yeah, I’ve driven through a few times before this too! It was really cool being immersed in the landscape!
Great hike in a beautiful place. I'm a big baby to put drops in my eyes. Hope all is well.
It is now! Thank you!
That was awesome and I had to laugh when you used the butterknife on the beer LOL. I hope your eye was ok
Beautiful bird song and the wind blowing the grasses is soothing. I am so glad you weren't hurt when you fell.
Thank you, I loved the birds and the grasses too! And yeah, that fall definitely could have been a lot worse!
Sounds like a western meadowlark, one of my favorite songs.
Really great video, Maddie! Very nice scenery shots, commentary and editing. I liked how you called out for your mother when you fell. Wink, wink!
Hahaha I was hoping that was undistinguishable! I was hurt and surprised but at the same time thinking, “clean up your language, the viewers are here too!”
You are so fun Maddie thanks for the laughs
Oh no, thank YOU !
You have inspired me to take on the BADLANDS…please be safe out there

Wonderful video! Looks windy at parts, the birds sounds are lovely. The rocky terrain n grassy fields looks beautiful together
Thank you!! It was really nice, except for the wind! And that just bothered me because I knew it wouldn’t sound good in the video!
I think you are amazing for what you do. So much courage.
Thank you! It’s all from taking baby steps!
Great video Maddie!! I'm glad you didn't hurt yourself when you stumbled
Haha yep just a bruised ego!
That was a great spot. When I left the Badlands just about two years ago the winds were so bad they let me park The Badlands Truck Stop in Kadoka for two days. Even the minivan seemed dangerous on the highway.
Oh man that’s some serious wind!
It was great video I love the scenery Maddie. I enjoy your videos an have great Week.
Thank you, Jimmy! I always look forward to your comments!

Oh that’s cool! I doordashed two days in Rapid City so I got to know it pretty well. I probably drove past your high school!
Great videos, so beautiful there! Glad you're ok!
Thank you! I was so relieved that it was just allergies, not something more serious!
Beautiful hike
Thank you!
It's good that will show yourself taking a spill... It happens to everyone
I'm heading to do the Castle Trail tomorrow.
Great one Maddie !
Thanks! Glad you liked!!
Execelente aventura
Gracias!
You’re awesome.
So good, Maddie! But please be careful. We don't want you to get hurt. As for your eye, I get dry eye, too. It itches! I hope the eye drops helped.
I noticed the artificial tears were actually making things worse so now I just do Zyrtec and nose spray. I’m also further west now so I think that helps!
I missed your live..Love your intro, you are getting so good.
Thank you! It was fun to make, and peanut butter oatmeal is really good!
You have a pretty friendly You Tube ☺️ channel, glad to be invited
Aww yay! Welcome!!! So glad to have you here! 🎉🥳🍻

That happened to my eyeball, it really freaked me out…but it’s like a blister forming from too much rubbing your itchy eyes, hope it’s better now.
It is better now! And thank you for that info, it’s nice to finally know what the heck was going on!
Great video! Love the Badlands.

I suck at doing eye drops too.
Yes! They are humanly impossible! Pretty much anyway
I always have a skoop of peanutbutter in my oatmeal,
We’re twinsies!!
Take care of yourself
I will! The allergies were just as bad in North Dakota but now that I’ll further west they haven’t been as bad
