  • I decided to update my steamer and decided on the Need Essentials 4/3. I really like it but had some issues. Overall a 9 out of 10.

Hi, I have the same 4/3 as well as a hooded 4/3 and a hooded 6/4. For the price I don’t think it can be beat. All of them were hard to get off at first but have had all for about 1 to 2 years and they seem to be holding up like new. I live close to Canada in the Pacific Northwest and the 6/4 is my go to suit for no matter how cold it gets here. The buoys can report 43-44 degrees but the melt water coming out of the harbors and rivers makes it colder than that and even with strong offshore I am good to go and core seems to stay warm. I don’t like the hood on either the 4/3 or the 6/4. I like the O’Neill shaped hood on my 5/3 the best over these and a Patagonia. But oall were mid 200’s to 270ish U.S. when I bought them and 500 for O’Neill lol.A
The 4/3 hooded seems to keep my core warm down to around 50-51 Fahrenheit and as cold as it gets in February and March is not too much for the 6/4.. I believe the water is closer to 40 at times than 43 😊
Thanks for the review and your video on the tools you use for shaping! About to attempt shaping my first board.
All the best to you and yours!

Yeah they're great and really it was the only negative thing about it. I have a Project Black to try next. I always look out for new things to try, and they aren't free, I purchase them at retail price.
