It's an ambiguous SUV. Looks like something you'd find in Europe. Not quite sur if it translates well to North America. Interior is always on point with Mercedes. This looks to be the replacement for the older B-Class. Those were great.
Mercedes kills it with their cars in so many ways, but they make it so expensive and tedious to get some rather basic features. Sunroofs and driver assistance tech should be standard, I feel that they might make more standard features in the future to stay competitive, but then again with the Mercedes badge they can get away with it. Great review as always!
The price is mainly what would turn me away. The new Cadillac CT4-V starts at almost $10k less and has more power than this, although nowhere near as nice of an interior, but definitely a nicer exterior (and I know it's not an SUV-poseur like this car, but same size class)... Altogether this would be a hard pass for me.
I actually have one which is fully optioned out and is a great drive for a daily, especially if you have a small family. Couple of corrections: It is not 4Matic+ (only the GLA45/45s have 4Matic+) it is actually the 4Matic suspension system from the older gen GLA45. Also you can option in 360 camera, which mine has, and is very handy when your apartment has very tight parking spots. Also your launch control / race start didn't engage because you didn't turn off traction control / ESP.
I'm not saying this looks bad, but in this generation, it looks like they took every stylistic element out of it. The sideview just looks really boring compared to the previous one. In general, this just looks extremely generic, not necessarily bad, but doesn't stand out.
i think thats the first time ive seen engine sound amplification done RIGHT through the speakers... usually its synthesized completely off pitch, but this has the nice bassy roar

Entry level price tag......IF you get one with no options on it. Everything is an à la carte add on, and the majority of them are things most people want. Then of course you want one with actual power, so you need to get the A35 which starts at $47k with nothing on it. Add what you want and now your paying at nearly $60k for something that still has a crappy feeling interior. If I'm paying that much for a MB, I better get nicer leather. But no, you have to move up in models, like to the E class to get the nicer feel. I sat in one of these, and other than the screen going across the dash, it felt like a Chevy inside. (The Premier trim Chevy has softer feeling leather than this.) For $55-60k....nope! I don't need nor want a larger vehicle, but I want the luxury feel inside that only the larger ones have. I was looking at this or the GLB, both the 35, and was not impressed. They have the three pointed star but did not feel at all like a Mercedes.
