Wow, never seen this before either I've lived and breathed Status Quo since 1979, was at Milton Keynes 84 and have seen them dozens of times from 1984 until 2024 and have never seen this song live, its a hard song for vocals for Mr Rossi so i bet he was glad it didnt become a regular. My favourite live song throughput all thei back catalogue is The Oriental i just love it. Sadly on the day of my Birthday 23rd August 2024 it is reportedly their last live gig at Taunton. God bless Status Quo and all who played in her.
The curtain drop - truly awesome intro and one of their very best songs from way, way back. Andy Bowen probably the most overlooked and musically talented member of the band. Stroke of utter genius to bring him into the line-up. I believe he was in The Herd prior to Quo. Met him a few times in civvy life, really nice gentleman.
When your mate is in trouble you go and help him......this is what Rick Parfitt is doing realising that Francis Rossi is struggling a bit...........Rock n Roll...........
That Francis Rossi is one DISRESPECTFUL PIECE OF CRAP,didn't even have any Emotions over Rick passing away.. WELL RICK MADE THAT GROUP SUCCESSFUL NOT ROSSI.. R.I.P. RICK""YOU WERE THE BEST""
in thsi song rossi is at the limit of his nasal voice. Hsi voice has changed a lot since he was younger. Rossi isa great singer who can adapt the way his sings to the style and the years
They are bloody fantastic followered these guys for year's and they are just the best of British rock and I love them so much ROCK TILL YOU DROP 😀 ❤ BUT WHEN YOU DO STOP GO OUT IN STYLE. Anita from Kent UK 🇬🇧
LYRICS: Now you know this ain't the kind of life for you It's not the way you thought that it would be If I could change my way to you If I could change, it wouldn't be me And you see I know I never tried the things I should have done Oh and time is always passing by I want to do the things I never done before So I do try not to tell a lie When I'm so low, when I'm so high Yet you cry when I say I can't give you more First you said you'd never try to slow me down That ev'rything would work out really fine But as those walls closed in on us your words just fell right out of line And behind I know I never tried the things I should have done And time is always passing by I want to do the things I never done before So I do try not to tell a lie When I'm so low, when I'm so high yet you cry when I say I can't give you more Oh, oh, oh, can't give you more Can't give any more Oh, oh, oh, can't give you more Ain't got any more Did you figure ours would be an easy thing Like lazy days of lying in the sun I told you if you wanted me That ev'ry day just wouldn't be fun Now it's done I know I never tried the thing I should have done And time is always passing by I want to do the things I never done before So I do try not to tell a lie When I'm so low, when I'm so high Yet you cry when I say I can't give you more Oh, oh, oh, can't give you more Can't give you more Oh, oh, oh, can't give you more I ain't got any more Oh, oh, oh, I ain't got any more I ain't got any more Oh, oh, oh, can't give you more I ain't got any more
Is that it then? Leon is a kickass drummer too. Total gentleman too. I’m too young to see Quo live with Jeff but I love that era. I love the new lineup too. Respect to all the Quo fans who evolve with the band. If it wasn’t for Francis continuing the band after rick passed, younger fans like me wouldn’t have the chance to enjoy the music as it should be enjoyed, live and loud.
@@barrymcnicholl4140 I would say he's right, though Leon comes in a close second. Jeff had a lot of balls behind his playing and he was VERY technically skilled. Leon took a while to come into his own but has showed on the last couple of tours that he is a damn fine drummer. Perhaps one of their best. He easily over shot John and Peter, that's for sure.
what we hear has no relation to what happens onstage - rossi's struggling to sing high up maybe due to a sore throat etc. but if the voices are quiet, it's cos the audio mix has been done like that
Für mich einer ihrer besten Songs überhaupt.Aber diese völlig misslungene Live-Version--was soll das??? Bin alte Quo-Sammlerin.
John would die a horrible death if he even tried to get to Jeff's professional level. Whether you like it or not, John and Alan were amateurs who got very lucky. If it wasn't for Francis and Rick, neither of them would have had an ounce of fame. Jeff and Rhino are and always will be great professional players.
My least favourite Quo era. A great track and rare video, but as of all the tracks played during the Jeff Rich era, far too fast. His drumming was so fast that Quo lost their great driving rhythm. Was he on speed for the whole of his time with Quo? They returned back to their former awesome selves once he departed.
Fecken keyboards far to high in the mix and jeff rich ain't for quo. Great drummer but not for quo. Way way to fast, quos heavy driving rhythm lost., what a criminal shame, rossi has to know he's got to but his ego is so big he will never admit that.

Also in Peter Frampton's band before joining Quo only months before Frampton Comes Alive.
One of their "billion" best tracks...always loved it. Good singalong. Pure Quo! There's no life without Quo!

Wow - never seen this Quo clip before. Great song. Hard to believe it's 20 years ago!
Steve_Gazza_Gascoigne
The song is older than that. It’s on the Rockin’ All Over the World album originally.
I’ve always liked this song, I thought this is a great performance!!
Great version of one of my favourites from Quo
R.I.P. Rick ....🕯🎸Long Live Status Quo!
Great energetic performance. I don't think I've ever seen Francis push himself so hard live. Did he have a cold or something?
What a video, AWESOME rare live quo. The band where brilliant live wi jeff on drums!
Jeff was a fantastic drummer. In my opinion, the best, and most technical Quo ever had!

Best Drummer Status Quo ever had.
By far the best status quo lineup!
You must be40 or younger?
You must be joking
That's a joke right???!!!
You need to be in the asylum if you think that.
Wise up
Francis really gave it his all here

Rock at its finest, and not just the music, your comment, spot on dude!!!

They do Rockin all over the world in the same key for a long time. OK, the unplugged version is another story.

LYRICS:
Now you know this ain't the kind of life for you
It's not the way you thought that it would be
If I could change my way to you
If I could change, it wouldn't be me
And you see
I know I never tried the things I should have done
Oh and time is always passing by
I want to do the things I never done before
So I do try not to tell a lie
When I'm so low, when I'm so high
Yet you cry when I say I can't give you more
First you said you'd never try to slow me down
That ev'rything would work out really fine
But as those walls closed in on us
your words just fell right out of line
And behind
I know I never tried the things I should have done
And time is always passing by
I want to do the things I never done before
So I do try not to tell a lie
When I'm so low, when I'm so high
yet you cry when I say I can't give you more
Oh, oh, oh, can't give you more
Can't give any more
Oh, oh, oh, can't give you more
Ain't got any more
Did you figure ours would be an easy thing
Like lazy days of lying in the sun
I told you if you wanted me
That ev'ry day just wouldn't be fun
Now it's done
I know I never tried the thing I should have done
And time is always passing by
I want to do the things I never done before
So I do try not to tell a lie
When I'm so low, when I'm so high
Yet you cry when I say I can't give you more
Oh, oh, oh, can't give you more
Can't give you more
Oh, oh, oh, can't give you more
I ain't got any more
Oh, oh, oh, I ain't got any more
I ain't got any more
Oh, oh, oh, can't give you more
I ain't got any more

Not a bad Quo tribute, no Nuff and Spud no Quo.
In early nineties I lost my interest in SQ. A fantastic band in the seventies, some of the records in this period were really rock classics.
Status Coke.
Aus welchem Loch ist das denn aufgenommen worden? Eine Schande für Status Quo! Die haben besseres verdient! Wirklich!
Die Analogtechnik und dessen Vor und Nachteile.
Brilliant live performance with best drummer Status Quo ever had.

The best drummer was the original John Coughlan. All the others were session musicians.

End that's a fact afta Rick and Alan there's no real Quo now is there? ✌️ 🙏 👍
No there isn't. Francis should have said he's a solo artist because there is no more Quo.

Rossi is really struggling to hit notes there thats for sure...
Rossi seems to be struggling!! Why write a song in a key thats hard to reach!!

The version on Rocking all over the world was better. John Coghlan and Alan Lancaster just made it better than Jeff & Rhino.
