I can't wait to fly away. Come quickly Lord.
My respect for this young woman just went up several notches
It should be forbiddento be so beautiful on youTube. No one else has a chance to compete 🌹🌹🌹🌹
I love Alan Jackson and I love that that you love our Lord.... Great Video!
Bless you sister you are a good light to the world
Yep. The Red Book Hymnal. I know almost every song word for word from that book.
Alan’s church hymns are my favorite to listen to!! ❤
Loved this one young lady and my sister in Christ Jesus!
This is the classic southern gospel that I grew up with. I love it.
His whole Precious Memories album (done for him momma) is a treasure. Just beautiful. ❤
Yes it is!
Haven't heard Alan Jackson's rendition of these Hymns before. This was awesome! Took me back to my younger days in Church. Yes, this definitely put a smile on my face and Joy in my heart! Praise the Lord!
Alan did a CD of gospel songs for his mom, and these songs were part of that collection. It was a grouping of songs that he sang at church when he was younger, and his mom always loved.
I've heard this done when he was younger, before his voice started breaking down, even more amazing. I'm a 63-year-old man and the more I watch your reactions, the more I'm impressed with you. Any man would be proud and honored to have you as a friend, daughter, sister, mother, girlfriend or wife! Thank you for your enjoyable posts.
I am a believer Britt. Your reaction to this was beautiful 🤩 I’ll fly away and washed in the blood was a great hymn sang in southern churches. My mom loved Alan Jackson
Nice to hear this hymn and the reaction!
I grew up in the Southern Baptist Church and we sang both of these regularly. My father was the choir director and loved the older hymns vs contemporary church songs (although he’d do those as well) so these are my child hood. My Daddy is 84 and still sings in the church choir, as well as a gospel trio.
‘I’ll Fly Away’ is my very favorite hymn, so you’re right, it did fill me with joy - and even more so your testimony as you watched it. Thank you for taking me to church this Saturday morning.
I grew up in a church that sang straight from the hymnal, with no instruments...Just the sound of the congregation's voices. These two hymns were sung often...Love those traditional old school hymns! - As always, thanks for sharing!
i'm 68 y.o., and i grew up in the '60's-'70's, and one hymn i absolutely loved was 'amazing grace' sung to the tune of 'house of the rising sun' (by the group the animals in the '60's). i couldn't see it with your filter on, but it made me very happy to watch how happy you were.
I grew up singing this hymn... from the hymnal on the back of the pew next to the offering envelope, pencil and Bible (though I always had my own with me) . Great song, great reaction. Alan is awesome.
I love this! And the piano playing is the best.
You will love his Precious Memories I & II CDs!
I grew up Pentecost and we sang all the hymns and I love it.
With only one exception, I have enjoyed all of your reactions. But as a fellow believer in God and his son Jesus Christ, this is my new favorite. Not just the music but your words. Alan has an album called Precious Memories and it's all gospel hymns with his flair. God bless you in all your endeavors, but always remember...to God be the glory.
I have that Precious Memories album on vinyl, and I love it. 😃👍🏼
@@rfitzsimons55 it's good right?
He actually has 2, Precious Memories and Precious Memories II
@@garygoodman4342 thank you for the info. I was completely unaware.
Love that CD!
I’ll be your witness, sister Britt!!!! Hallelujah to Jesus❣️
Alan Jackson is very much aline and mostly well.
I loved seeing your joy in the singing of these hymns. I too grew up in a southern Baptist church and we sung these hymns often. The hymns as well as your reaction put a smile on my face and in my heart. God bless you and your continued success as your channel grows.
I love how you cannot resist singing along. I am the same way with these old hymns.
Amen sister!!
Preach it sister Amen Hallelujah all the praise and glory to our Lord and Savior 🙏
I was raised in church with the old hymns. I was into praise songs for a longtime. But it's the old hymns that speak to my heart and soul. Great reaction Britt!
God bless you Amen
✝️🙏✝️
His gospel album that this came from is amazing. When he first released it, he also released some conversations with him and his mama that were so sweet.
These hymns have special meaning for me. My mom was a singer and some songs I just can't hear without hearing her singing as she cooked or sewed etc. She was always singing. She did backup for the "Bakersfield scene" in the 50s. If you haven't yet, listen to some Roy Clark and Buck Owens and you'll know who I mean. She also sang in church a LOT. She had an incredible voice and my daughter inherited it. It skipped me. 😆 She'll be singing "I'll Fly Away" in my head all day now and that is most definitely not a bad thing.
I remember my mothers hands practically bouncing over the keys. She played and I danced beside her on the bench. ❤ over and over she’d play.
Amen!
Alan Jackson - Good Time
❤ Alan
This was sang a lot in the churchs i went to as my Dad was a Baptist Preacher.
Alan did Precious Memories for his and Denise's mothers. They spent weeks going over hymnals to find the best ones. They gave it to them on Christmas morning to much delight. It was only intended to be a private gift but his manager kept advising him to publish it. However, sometime later Alan's mother told him it was the best present but why didn't he includes this song and that song, to thus was Precious Memories 2 created. I have listened to these CD's so much and they bring such joy.
Can't express how much I love this. My Mom would be working with her flowers outside and we would be talking all of Gods creations. She would start singing this and of course I'd join her. This was one of her favorites. I can't wait to sing with her again someday 😊❤
Baptist here as well. This is one of my all time favorites. Thanks for your reaction.
This is a medley of two popular hymns that were sung in many churches, especially pre-1970’s. The first “Washed in the blood” was written in the 1870’s, the second “I’ll fly away” was written in the 1930’s. These songs faded out from use in many metropolitan churches starting in the ‘70’s when new contemporary worship songs became popular. However, even today, we rotate in these old standards into worship on a regular basis in our church in SW Virginia.
Iam absolutely trusting in the blood of the Lamb 😊
Thank you
Britt, thank you! 🙌🙏
Britt you are such a sweetheart!
Grew up on these songs in a Baptist church in southeast Louisiana 😊
Alan Jackson recorded an album called precious memories and he done it for his mother just before she died he saying it to her on the stage of the ground of opera and there’s a song on there called I wanna walk through heaven with you that should be your next song from Alan Jackson
Baptist as well but visited many other denominations, and you’re right about everyone doing the same songs differently. Alan’s here is Southern Gospel which has a lot of Bluegrass from the hills. Listen to his whole album. “Stroll Over Heaven With You” is my favorite but love them all.
I grew up with these songs. I've told my family that at my home going celebration, they have to sing, "I've Flown Away." 😊
Love the joy you exude and message you bring. Subscribing
I’m glad to see someone else that loves traditional gospel music and is not afraid to say they are a Christian You just got a new sub Thank you If want to hear a great gospel song Watch Alan perform I Want To Strole Over Heaven With You
Amen sister!
Praise the Lord!!!
I grew up in the Baptist church and the "call and response" hymn was a Sunday morning staple. I had not heard Alan Jackson do hymns before - thanks so much for introducing them to me. I adore your reactions. Thank you so much.
I am the grandson of an itinerant Southern Baptist preacher. Way and I do mean WAY back in the hills of Tennessee were pockets of believers too poor to build a church or pay a pastor. My grandpa would preach one Sunday early in one pocket, go to another and preach around 9:30 or so, move on to the next pocket and preach around 11 or noon. He'd come home to grandma's filling lunch then go back and preach a couple of late services before coming back home for supper. He took no pay or offerings but did it for God's kingdom.
We lived in Michigan and Dad would take a couple of weeks vacation to reacquaint us kids with our southern kin.
Singing on the porch with cousins and no instruments never required it to be Sunday, but those memories outlived grandpa & grandma as well as mom and dad. I'm closing in fast on 70 (I'll be 68 in October) and still lift my voice singing these old songs during the week between Sundays while mowing, gardening, etc.
I have his gospel album!
The whole album is fantastic…Stroll over to heaven with you is one of my favs
Alan Jackson did a gospel album of hymns. You should have a listen to some of his others. "In the garden " " Precious Memories" and Amazing Grace. He is still alive but doesn't perform as much due to a degenerative disease he has that doesn't allow him to stand and perform. Great way to start a Sunday morning. Love you Britt.
Growing up I'll fly away was one of my favorite songs, I grew up very southern Baptist! So glad to see someone react to a gospel song.❤❤
He recorded a gospel album because his momma had been begging him to. He’s released two and they are my all time favorite! Im a weirdo who makes up situations in my head and I always say if I could listen to one style music the rest of my life it would be gospel and even more specifically it would be hymns. And Alan would be singing them! He is my all time favorite. Good ole Georgia boy.
How great thou art by Home Free is a must
Absolutely.
THANK YOU ... VERY ENJOYABLE BOTH YOU AND ALAN ...IF YOU HAVEN'T HEARD HIM YET , YOU MIGHT LIKE JOHNNY CASH AND JUNE CARTER DOING "WERE YOU THERE, (WHEN THEY CRUCIFIED MY LORD) ... JUNE SENDS CHILLS THRUOGH ME
He is with us but has retired due to health reasons. He came out of retirement for Ms. Lynn's memorial service
I belong to a Free Will Baptist Church in the South and sing in the choir. I will be 70 in 2 months and it's the same now as it was as when I was a child. Bibles and Hymns Sunday morning, Sunday evening, and Wednesday evening.
We sang this song all the time in the 1960 and 70s when I was a child in Tennessee at a Baptist church. Sadly my Baptist church still in Tennessee rarely sings hymns.
I'm a 65 year old white lady who was also raised in the Baptist Church! Ladies' Bible Study was so important to me as well! The artist named Hardy has a song called "Give Heaven Some Hell" about a buddy that has died - but there's a stanza in it that says, "I was there when you raised your hand, heads bowed, singing Just As I Am, walkin' that aisle, prayin' that prayer ..." most people that I have seen react to it don't get the reference! But I sure know the call to salvation and singing Just As I Am as new believers accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Just wanted to pointed that out! Wish I could afford to send you a contribution to see your reaction to it.
I heard it the first time that I listened to that song, I'm 59 and Hardy's song is added to songs I want at my funeral.
@@mikepetrimoulx933 Me too Mike! Such a talented singer/song writer!
I would say im agnostic and a fan of Christian music. I left Europe for the first time and went to the bible belt in America, MS. and it completely opened a new style of music to me. the whole country/Christian music mix is amazing. I must say my new taste in it have spawned a rapidly fast growing playlist.
I'm washed! Thank you Yeshua!
Alan has several albums of traditional hymns.
Listen to “stroll over heaven with you” off this album. You won’t be disappointed!
If you like this one, you should check out his album Precious Memories. Chock full of awesome gospel hymns. 🥰
@BrittReacts have you heard Will the Circle be Unbroken?" You will love it.
My church does more contemporary music which I love but this is so nostalgic I love it. He made an album of old hymns. I bought it for my mom a couple years ago 😊 she loves it.
Had to edit 😊 he did the album for his mom ❤
A good song sounds good no matter who or how it is sung.
Alam has an album he made with all hymns.
Did the back of the pew have those little round holes for placing the shot glass after Communion?
Great to hear a familiar song, and so well performed. I miss those hymnals. Are you familiar with Gregory Porter? I did not find a reaction to him in your videos. He is a jazz artist, with a gospel influence. An original of his is "Take me to the alley", and I believe you would enjoy the lyrics as well as his great voice and style.
Mr Jackson has at least one full gospel album, although he is mostly known for coutry blue grass and songs of patriotism. He is a very religious man.
This hymn was regular song from my childhood. Another old time great was a song called God made a way!
Thank you for reacting to this I think you are the only one who has reacted to this song. Alan Jackson does the hymns the very best IMHO.
Are You Washed in the Blood was written by Elisha Hoffman, a Presbyterian minister from Ohio in 1878. It's been sung by churches across the country and different denominations ever since. It has a great message and a wonderful melody.
💕
"Washed in the Blood of the Lamb" was written by a Presbyterian minister in 1878. I love the old hymnal songs. Thanks for reacting to it. Bless you and your family.
Alan Jackson did an entire CD for his Grandma I love it. Great songs.
Same concert “I want to stroll over heaven with you”
Both his and his wife’s mom are in the crowd and he sings it for her.
Yes! I love that song! I think of my dog Charlie every time I hear it and hope I can stroll again with him "some glad morning". He was the best dog ever ❤
👏🏼
One light left in Heaven by Blue Rodeo
🙋🏻♀️
This is considered southern gospel
Are you washed in the blood, or just the water
Hello Britt hope your doing well and healthy today love this great reaction by you again you always give an awesome reaction on your youtube channel so awesome of you thank you so much for sharing this video with us love it Britt.👍
Dead eyed people and people with light in their eyes. Follow the light.
Allen has a two cd old Gospels he did for his mom .... best of the old Gospels....so awesome
Allan Jackson is in my opinion the best gospel singer in country music. You should listen to the precious memories CD
Miss Britt, you should have a listen to Alan The Older I Get!!!
I'm about three weeks new to your reactions, Britt. Tonight I decided to get caught up, so I've been listening to your "ouvre" for about two hours now no-stop. Really enjoying all of them, esp. your venture into c&w artists, and now the gospel songs. The more I listen, the more I'm taken by the depth and expanse of your reactions. You have quite a background form which to draw both facts and feelings. It's a pleasure to listen to you. I'm very glad I found you here at youtube. I have a suggestion for a country gospel song I think you'd like: it's by Wayne Raney and the Raney Family, titled "We need a whole lot more of Jesus." I hope you'll listen to it, whether or not you use it for a reaction video. Thanks again for the enjoyment you're sharing.
"In The Blood" Home Free
I know you are right They don’t play the music that I heard growing up in church and I miss these songs I live in a little town in middle Georgia and I go to a Methodist church and it’s a little church and I have been going there all of my life I love some of the new music but they can’t replace all of the old songs I grew up on
Alan did a show all gospel his mother was in the audience it was wonderful for me Alan and Randy rank right up there with Elvis. Randy has a song Jerusalem cry must here
If you like this You should listen to Alan sing a song that’s called I WANT TO STROLL OVER HEAVEN WITH YOU it’s so good
He looks like my late father
1878 in Ohio by Elisha Hoffman regret have been too many covers to list. We had this in the First Baptist in Oklahoma and
