You naughty parsnip! This is actually the 1996 Super 12 game, round 11, 11 May 1996. Watching this took me back in pleasant ways. It revived a mystery as well. Transvaal looked like a team who should have been made for Super rugby - a strong forward pack and a high quality backline, but they really struggled. Some of it was probably 'rub of the green' as the competition was always closer than it looked. I do wonder if they had a 10 who could really light up that backline and perhaps the tight five lacked the mobility for this style of rugby, so that there was a bit of a disconnect between the loose trio and the rest. That was a fantastic QLD side. Morgan back from a weird excursion to League - a disaster. It turned out he went into his League stint with a neck injury and it reminds one that many cases of players seeming to be in poor form are because they are carrying injuries that don't stop them playing but do stop them playing at peak and if you are just a few points off peak, you look ordinary. As viewers we should be more tolerant with players who seem to be struggling.
Dankie for uploading this. Golden years of Transvaal rugby
Thanks so much for uploading this. Two great sides of their era.

Title needs a slight tweak. This wasn't the final, that was between the Blues and the Sharks in Auckland.
Got it - thanks.
@@gerhardcombrinck7026change the title, then! You’re fooling the viewers.
