Hello from Italy, Turin, north west. I leave here some notes about how and why Nutella was born, because I think the Punjab misters could appreciate this. Nutella is Italian, and is an evolution of much older product: Gianduiotto chocolate. Gianduiotto chocolate was created in 1806 more or less, by the best patisseries in Turin. Cocoa was nearly impossibile to have and crazily expensive because it was coming from English controlled territories of South America. Napoleon Bonaparte had closed french harbors to English ships, due to an increase tension between the two countries. Pâtisseurs mixed cocoa with a specific type of Hazelnut (Tonda Gentile delle Langhe), which is especially smooth and sweet. They named the new product after "Gian d'la Duja", Turin's main puppet character. Hence "Gianduiotto". Fast forward 150 years later, Italy faces again a hard shortage of… whatever: World War II was just finished and the country was depleted of everything. Pietro Ferrero created a spreadable Giandujotto in his sweets and bakeries family business, in Alba (few kilometers from Turin). The product was meant for workers in manufacturing companies, to give strenght for their hard working. He was focused to use top quality ingredients of the nearby areas, and keep a price that made those products available to possibly everyone. The name Nutella was chosen in 1965, when Ferrero started to export it outside Italy. The product was so loved, that basically gave Ferrero money enough to raise his sweet empire as we know it now. Ferrero passed away in 2015, he was and is still very loved, and designed all his products thinking to his ideal client: a housewife, mother or aunt, that cares for grocery shopping for all her family. Since "Valeria" was a very diffused name in all Italy, he and the company personnel always referred to this ideal client with great affection as "Mrs. Valeria".

I haven't had Nutella in 13 years...
Used to empty a bottle a week, whilst I lived at my parents house...
Had to finance everything myself at my student dorm, so I quit back in 2010...
I ain't wasting money on overpriced sugary chocolate pasta...
