I watched this about a week ago, waited till this Monday for the 7 day campaign to reset, then went all out from 1:00 pm to 1:00 am with DC and was crowned Emperor. I had no PvP build or armor, no PvP guild and was running a standard Magplar heal PvE build and never ran in Cyrodiil before. If i can do it, every single one of you watching can also.
AJA The biggest tip I can give is to not stop playing once you start your grind, once you start keep going. Usually if someone is ahead of you they will eventually jump off when another faction takes over the keeps for example. This is when you can get the most points ahead of them and get crowned emp the next rotation, go and repair walls. Repairing walls may be boring but it gets you a lot of points and that's what gave me my advantage when I was crowned Emperor. (Also make sure to run the delves for the bonus)

Nice advice for the most part. Only problem I see is that you dont get booted when you hit level 50. As long as you stay in the campaign, you will be able to keep going, but once you leave, you wont be able to get back in!
Today, It really doesn't matter in the ways it used to matter in previous years. This is because the game is now largely more balanced. For example old dps sets that used to be Stamina or Magicka are now both. And the lower levels have buffs to counter the higher levels capabilities. The lower the level the more resistances, health recovery and basic damage your character does. So the armor/performance scales to your level. I do recommend crafted Twice Born Star because you can change the x2 Mundas stones for it based off your needs or your teams needs. I'd probably pair it with another 5 piece that enhances what you're doing like tanking, healing or dps. PVP is very much a paper, rock, scissors game. What trumps that is a large number of coordinated friends.
It's a toss up. It really depends on the opposition. If you are severely outnumbered, you can't do anything about that until they get tired. But I've seen multiple players get Emperor in 2-6 hours at the start of the campaign. I'd recommend playing an hour to see how it's looking. If it's bleak you may just want to not play until the next campaign to preserve your low level.
Ebonheart seems to have the most players, but that can also work against you as much as it can help you. Remember you're competing against players on your alliance for the top place on the leaderboards too. I usually play Blue simply because there's more people to kill.

Im pretty sure the bonus AP you earn doesn't count towards the leaderboard.

You just need someone to boost you with kills. 40 friends from guild that will trade u 40 kills. Thats what is pvp turn into.
