I don't blame you for wanting or maybe thinking about getting rid of the dark horse. It blows they still cannot be tuned because it in my opinion takes away from the owner experience. Not everybody just wants to throw boost on a car at first. If I had to choose to drive one I definitely drive the gt500 although I love Apollo because I basically am building the same car as Apollo only I have cams. A GT 500 is my dream Mustang though.

My N/A 2021 Mach 1 10R80 trans temp is cold initially but, gets hotter as you stop and go. In 80-90* temps, it will get to 200* and drop down to about 190*. I drilled both my fake fog light covers, and both covers in front of oil and trans coolers. It seems to help temps not get so hot so quickly, and runs a few * cooler. They sell a trans thermostat eliminator valve, but that thing will drop your trans temp by an EASY 90*!!!!! You have to drop the valve body, but it is a pretty easy looking install. The 10R80 in the Mustangs don't have check balls or paper gaskets between the valve body and the trans. Pretty easy as far as VB removal. I don't know how that would affect trans operation in 70 and under outside temps. Tru Cool makes a model # 47391 trans cooler that you could plumb into the stock trans cooler circuit that would probably work really good for a mostly street driven car. I have that in all the cars I own except the Mach. gonna wait til I do an ESS and decide if I need it or not. I have a 00" Camaro SS, with a built 4L80E and a Yank SS 4000 converter. My trans runs between 100-135* in 90-100* outside temps. If you get a Tru Cool, make sure you get it from the company or a Trans shop like Oregon Perf. The Ebay and Amazon ones are Chinese knock offs.
I'll see a max of 220 on very hot summer days at a Red light but that is rare usually I don't see more than 215 cylinder Head temps and when cruising it hangs at around 199 to 204 usually.. In the colder months I don't even worry about it at all.. But I am going to get that 170 thermostat put in, and do the Oil pump gears, crank sprocket, Clutch, and then a blower eventually..
A base 5.0 sub 40k with a nice twin turbo or a pro charger system would be insane. Started with a base 10 speed coyote, kenny bell hooked me up with big blower intercooler pumps etc just at the limits of the transmission but 5k to make it hold 2k hp
In regards to the last question, imho it's Apollo (biased emotional decision not based on any fact). Now in the conundrum of what car next after the GT500 & Dark Horse. I feel like if you are staying in Mustang Territory you have 3 good options (but I'm also going to inject my own biases because its the type of content I watch outside of you and Derek ;D ). Route 1: A ultimate Road Course/Street Race Car build of an S550 (a base model or premium). There is still a lot of untapped potential doing content on S550's and I think you could milk an audience or draw in an audience that might not have considered you before going this route. Route 2: Same as above but with the S650 (again base or Premium but not a Dark Horse). This one gets interesting as there are two new body kits that are in the works according to the forums so you could literally make a Mustang GTD Lite (using the body kit coming from 777 Performance). Or you could go more street focused and pickup the body kit from Street Hunters which is in the works. Both Route 1 & 2 assume you'd be getting a non mag ride car in order to allow you to go either coilover route, or go fully custom suspension route to build street-able road course race car. Route 3: Scout out something from the S197 era and go that route. We all saw your reaction to the GT500 from Derek's channel. And unlike Route 2, both Route 1 & 3 would allow for aftermarket tuning of some type after you finish messing with suspension. But the end result is a fully custom car vs stock power unit in the S650. I understand the pain of not having a nearby/close by road course but you could always substitute that with autocross as well, which uses a similar skill set (again I'm not really seeing big name RUclipsr's outside of Chris formerly at Steeda doing AX with mustangs). Trying to keep this short but hopefully this gives you some additional confusion on what to do moving forward ✧ദ്ദി( ˶^ᗜ^˶ )

I have a vested interest in the DH as you know however my vote is this. Any S650 you buy right now your "build" options are going to be limited to Whipple or Roush with their tunes. Sure you could add headers, an h-pipe or some exhaust options but your boy Derek is doing exactly that so your content isn't collaborative but competitive. Now, building out your Dark Horse that would be something that would be something Derek isn't doing as he seems to have hit the saturation point with adding that vette and having to sell the Mach 1.

I know you mentioned getting another 650 but have you considered something different like a S197 or even a coyote swapped fox? Both are lighter which is a plus when racing and also might increase your sub base because of the different platforms.

There’s no point in getting a s650 10 speed and do a full N/A build then boost it eventually cause you already did that with Apollo so it’s basically repeated content if that makes sense. All depends what you do with your car but you can’t go wrong with the Shelby it’s a monster if you are mainly dog racing I say stay with your Ess 10 speed
hey what is going so i picked up a 2016 mustang gt and im looking for a good exhuast setup should i bite the bullet and get corsa extremes or should i go with roush?
Cyl heat temps are so weird on my stock gen 3. Will be 180-190 on a warm day cruising. Hits up to 225 while driving a bit hard and holding gears in manual mode. Goes down to 206 after cruising again, then gets to 216 while sitting in the garage afterwards. Takes 5-10 mine to settle back under 200. Is this normal?
Be different put a 10 speed in the shelby it be a lot faster car and you save lot of money. Keep the dark horse for you daily and long trips with the boys.

Right now u have a manual darkhorse and that's what u should boost to give different content to viewers. I could literally name 10 or more channels with an S650 auto supercharged. Boring
@ItalianStallion410 I would love to see that. I'm back and forth with my manual S650. I like the instant power of Roush/ Whipple but the sound of a centrifugal is hard to pass up waiting for. I will probably wait for tuning regardless then pick one rather than have a dumbed down version
