For those who are complaining about the audio, Jim was there and in the main seat and was complaining about the acoustics. Get a nice headset or turn the volume up I was able to hear everything fine from laptop speakers. The question microphone wasn't putting out enough sound, and for the people who didn't speak loudly or spoke too far away, their questions were harder to hear. Just be glad we have this at all! Dragon con has a policy against recording panels. Thank you Priscilla :)
I am from India , and unfortunately I never managed to travel to US during one of the various convention Mr Butcher shows up at , so I don't care about the audio quality . I am very thankful for the content Ms. Spencer. Once again Thank you very much
@@davidwooden3878 so mine (at 12:23) was "You have this entire room hanging on basically your every word. How on earth do you keep your ego in check?" (The reply was basically 'this is famous guy Jim, regular Jim would look at this room and say too many people and walk away') My husband's (at 38:32) was "Other than Harry, which is your favorite character to write [in the Dresden-verse]? And which is your least favorite?" (To which he said he has a hard time with Charity, and that his fave depends on his mood: if puerile and in need of chaos, it's Bob - if he needs to get shit done, it's Marcone - but then he related that Mab is really fun because often he'll write her stuff and not even realize that's what she was doing until he wrote it - and when he reads it back, he's like 'this is good, I should tell the author' and then his brain is like 'you are the author' - which he finds confusing)
@phoenixDR34MR thanks for your response! I think I was able to hear most of your question and your husband's, but thank you so much. Wish we had some good subtitles on these but I am just happy to have them. Jim speaks and sounds a lot like my BIL
Priscilla, did you record this yourself/do you record these Q&A's yourself, or do you track down videos taken by people at the panels, and then "collate" them on your channel?
In the majority of cases, I record them myself. If there's a panel or con I can't attend, I'll sometimes ask a friend to record for me, in which case I'll credit them in the notes.
Many of his friends have colorful hair, and he'd been wanting to experiment. He decided to take the plunge for his fairy tale wedding last year! Then he liked it so much he decided to keep it blue.
The most important part of a video is the audio. These would be so much more enjoyable is the audio was better. Please find some way to plug into the audio feed when you record these. Thanks!
I'm lucky no one shut me down. There are two panels they didn't let me record at all. I wasn't going to draw additional attention to myself by asking them to let me interfere with their A/V setup. Sorry you're not happy with the quality of a product you're getting for free that attendees had to pay hundreds of dollars and wait in line for hours to see.
@@Priscellie thank you so much for these posts I couldn't get the time off to come to dragon con so these posts are a blessing for those of us that could not attend his panel
It really depends on how they use religion. Jim seems to be using it in a good way from a good place. I had am instructor who said lots of folks have enough religion to hate, and not enough to love. I'm here for criticism of Organized Religion, but personal beliefs are separate from that
Ms. Spencer, you bring the community so much joy when you post these videos.

Thanks for that Priscilla!!! Good luck with the gig with the TV - make em do Jim's writing justice!!!!!
26:30 - That song is not Whitney Houston's - it's Dolly Parton's.
Have really enjoyed your posting these panels...thank you!
Thank you so much for sharing this with us, Priscilla!!
Thank you, Priscilla!
I started with Ghost Story followed up with Cold Days and loved them. Of course then I started back to beginning and loved the whole series.
Yay!! Thank you for posting this! I was in the panel but it was hard to see him good, even looking on the screens. This is so much better!!
I was heavily inspired by this guy when i was doing my creative writing Degree.

Lol, "Don't ask questions that I'm going to make you pay me to answer!"
Winter, brought to you by Coca Cola.... does that mean Summer is brought to us by Pepsi?
If that’s true, I am going to feel a lot less friendly towards Summer. 🤢
Mellow Yellow?
Always knew summer was the true villain
Fanta might fit better
Guys, COME ON. Most of the questions so far are "no way he's gonna answer that" questions. What do these folks EXPECT?
Jim liked my question (Spanish Flu) :)
The audio was marginal. Would you please restate your question for Jim? Thanks.
It makes me want to overlay and review the timeline to history. I wouldnt do it justice I'd I tried to restate it.
@@OhYassYass sure!. Was the Spanish Flu a cover story, or a side effect of the necromancy used by Kemmler?
I liked your question too!
Great panel😁 so hyped for peace talks!
Wish more religious guys were like Jim so accepting of others ♥
Michael sure makes Christianity look pretty good
Thank you so
Much
Mister is Cat Sidhe, the Irish version of Cat Sith, but he's retired..............
Cool idea!
But cat sidhe is a little character in his own right, he appears in Cold Days and he's one of my favorites
Jim! Priscilla!
What do we need to do to get a list of these "writing playlists" for Dresen Themes?
I need it. For. Scientific reasons
Given the opportunity; what Name would Harry Dresden give himself?
Plays with matches
I feel like "My Way" by frank Sinatra would be great as Harry theme song
So true
Maybe he'd wear a hat long enough for the song
Was that Kitty Krell asking about Butters?
oh hey! 12:23 - that's ME! =D
(ooh neat! and at 38:32 - that's my husband!)
Awesome!
What were your questions?
I can hear most of this panel but its tricky

did jim butcher dye his hair?
He was born with blue hair. He got tired of dyeing it brown to blend in.
No, he embraced Winter Law and it followed ;P
Actually, someone asked him about this at DragonCon this year - apparently he dyed it blue for the wedding, liked it, and just stuck with it.
Priscilla, I love you. What's with Jim's colorful hair?

@@Priscellie...does his hair mean he's a Vassal of Winter, now?
Colorful hair is lots of fun. Never dyed my own, but I'm loving Blue Haired Butcher
Jim butcher is a god!!
First comment. Love it can't wait till peace talks
Sound is horrendous 😥
Must try this with different headphones!

@@Priscellie I'm pretty late to this, but that was a beautiful murder.
Sad to hear that Jim is religious. I love his books but I always lose respect for someone when I find out they believe stupid shit.
