It would be so cool to see Amy Jo Johnson & Nancy Nevins do Sweetwater songs together or an album together. Both have powerful voices & I love Amy Jos acting!
I didn't know that a movie was made about Nancy Nevins. I was a die hard "Sweetwater" fan back in the late 60's. This is the first time I have found any of their work. I am delighted.
I didn't realize there was a movie about her either! I was fortunate to get to see Sweetwater live in about 1969. Phenomenal talent! All of them! I definitely had a crush on Nancy!
The original version is better as Nancy's vocals have a deeper, nasal range like Steve Windwood with a cold and it doesn't sound seductive or like a brat.. Amy's sounds too seductive and like a brat and whiny. Here is the original recording: ruclips.net/video/SimrMxpAZqk/видео.html(Sweetwater - In A Rainbow...Crystal Spider [2022 mix])

@@mikemorgan1204 Rose Kemp(female musician), Simone Holsbeek, Diana Mangano, or Darby Gould(female musician) would be better for the part of playing Nancy Nevins than this Amy person.
I first became aware of this band in 99 when VH1 broadcast the amazing movie. Even though, i still consider myself an aging hippie, the name didn't ring a bell. Now i think their music needs to be heard by everyone. It is still perfect for today. I got to see Michelle Phillips at the John Lennon 50th Birthday Party in Hollywood.. Oh how i miss those fun days. Take care. I would love to see What's Wrong on the Top 40 again.
I like the Sweetwater's original version and this version of the movie, too. Amy is a great singer and a very beautiful woman. She is amazing, dressing like a psychedelic girl from the sixties.
@@robinwelsome28 What sad is this movie with Amy Bratty who is not right for the role. How about Rose Kemp, SImone Holsbeek, Diana Mangano, or Darby Gould who are also female musicians instead!
Love this movie with Amy Jo Johnson hope sometime in the future it gets uploaded. It's a great movie I really enjoyed it ty for sharing the song it was a nice song.
I remember seeing this movie on TV years ago but never knew what it was called nor could I remember the name of the band it was about. I thought it may have starred The Pink Power Ranger actress but I wasn't sure. I remember I liked the music a lot from the movie so I spent some time finally figuring all this out and it wasn't easy to find. I went to Amy Jo Johnson IMDB and didn't see any leads there. I thought I remembered the band name had something to do with water. Looked up Woodstock bands
I wish there was an album of Amy Jo singing Sweetwater songs. I have original music of Sweetwater and Nancy but the Sweetwater musicians overpower the vocals. In the movie tracks they are a little more subdued and Amy Jo shines in the songs.
I miss the effect of this movie, its been so long. I saw it in '99, recorded over the TV series....bought the original VHS for dad....sorry for the destruction of the original VHS you recorded...we did, well I did Cheech to that, what was left over, but the original VHS copy was the best, kickin' around somewhere
This is my favorite song from the movie. I was wondering something....could anyone tell exactly what happened with the accident? I mean unless I'm wrong, it looked like her friend lost control of the car, and it smashed on Nancy's side; which is why she was hurt so badly. Was that it or am I wrong? I guessed that also because her friend didn't have a scratch on her.
+speddygonzales5 in real life she was hit by a drunk driver she didn't mention anyone being with her. But yeah in the movie I guess her side of the car got hit movies do rewrite reality a bit I guess who knows.

I loved Sweetwater (saw them give a free concert in K.C. in 1970), but this movie was godawful. There's a scene that takes place in a hippie record store, and the speakers are blasting Tommy James and the Shondells. No self-respecting hippie would have been caught dead listening to that kind of bubble-gum music.
If you fucking say so and the reason why I say that is because I’ve known some people that are somewhat hippies and they said the same thing and they listen to that I guess what everybody has their own opinion so that at the end the day that your damn opinion because she ever has her own idea what they think a hippie might be like button on top of that with your tone but don’t make any damn sense because newsflash they were a record store meaning they might not been paying attention listening to that music they were just look at other music because you know when you go to Dan record store they’re playing all kinds of music that I can just play the music that you guys like they’re playing the radio music and record stores or whatever they always played different kind of music that is not always the music I listen to so I really didn’t make any damn sense what you said but whatever
Amy Jo rocked in this movie!
I guess pink ranger paid off for her lol

A groovy rendition from a cosmic band that was only around a short while
A life snuffed out too soon! What a beautiful voice!
This is where I learned about the about the band Sweetwater because I was born in 1972. 😍

I'll take the real Sweetwater and the real Nancy over this movie tripe.
Drink a little "Love" wine with friends (in S. FL) and put "Sweetwater" on the stereo. Those were some great days.
both ebay and amazon have it also. but it gets pretty expensive and its only vhs. Sad I wish someone would make the dvd and bring the price down.
I love this movie to
I loved watching this movie on VH1... Too bad it's only on VHS :o(
I like her song
It is a Cool song kind of reminds me of her being on the Power Rangers she and her friends were in a rainbow and Zordon was the voice just saying
This song sounds like the power rangers Rainbow even though this movie was based on a true story and the 60s were before Mighty Morphain
Love this movie! I had such a crush on the guy who played Alex
Pterodactyl!!!
Music in here is dope
she is so cute singing AMY JO.
Nancy got part of her voice back, but years later
Bravo! Excellent video presentation. I will give this to my troops for inspiration.
