Dark Souls 3 - Abyss Watchers, SL1 No Damage

Watchers are fairly straightforward, even at sl1. They're easily staggered and vulnerable to parries and backstabs. First phase can feel protracted as you look for openings when the second watcher arrives, but if you wait, one will become more passive and let you wail on the other. Their HP is low, and an upgraded weapon will tear through their health bar so it's not really that bad.
Third watcher can damage and even target you, so keep that in mind. Just let them fight, and try and fish a backstab on the boss if possible.
Second phase pulls out fire AOEs but you can easily keep your distance and just fish backstabs when he does the leap attack. You can also still parry him in second phase.
There's enough materials do get a good upgraded weapon by this point, but if you're too lazy you can just use a gold pine resin, either way they're fairly weak. I was really passive in this fight, you can be more aggressive than I was and get more hits in or parry
