Brilliant video Ollie, nice to have the options there I suppose. Agree with wipers and radio on the levers, operated a couple of case machines that had that option came in useful. Happy new year bud all the best. 🍻
Great video, some nice features, I got our dealer to wire up the wiper blade to a button on the joystick only took him 5 mins. I want to see a video of you operating 1 handed whilst eating a pastie too
I've always got on fine with pedals, to me the stick steer just seems too complicated. The only application were stick steer would be great is on a 3 ton were the tracking pedals are small and uncomfortable but 5 and above machines have nice big pedals. Your spot on about wipers on the stick though.
I didn't get track control on my JCB, its quite an expensive option (north of £2k if I remember) and I don't really see how it would help me earn anymore money. I have driven the Engcon track steer and its different to the CAT in that the excavator still works as you would expect, and instead, the back rollers (or whatever you have it set to) become the tracks. No doubt you could get used to it, but I don't really struggle to use my feet to operate the tracks so for me it wasn't really worth the cost?
They are all completely different machines, I dont think one is the best, they all have their good points. For me a machine purchase is always a balance of how much I like the machine, but most importantly - backup from your dealer and price!
I just had a301.8 next gen delivered. I love the stick steer but no radio. Do you think I could have it download or is there hardware involved and where are the speekers?
You are right! Not sure why I didnt think this at the time but that would make much more sense. I think CAT seem obsessed with wanting to make it drive like a skid steer for some reason?
I'd say one wire rubs through and a lot of the machine will be down. Best get good with the multi meter if we want to keep these things running out of warranty!

Its happening Mark! One handed pastie eating is on my friend!

Do you use the track control with the engcon system in your jcb? If so, how does it compare to the Cat system?

What you think, you jcb is better than Japan machines ? I think what buy jcb 26 Takeuchi tb 225/230, yanmar sv26, kubota kx27 or kobelco sk28

completely agree with you mate pretty cool but wouldn't solely make me choose that machine lucky the cat has other great features!

The speakers were behind the headlining in the 308 I hired. The radio was integrated with the main screen. Sounds like a question for your dealer?
It all needs to be the exact opposite. Digger controls normal travel control on rollers

If you could show the blade float that’d be grand 🤣
Come on Harry, real operators don't need float!
Like I said 🤣
Must admit the cruise control is excellent even managed to set it up with a flail with just enough energy to creep on
Its a cool feature for sure. But not sure I'd like to own one in 10 years time... You are one broken wire away from the machine not working at all!
Imagine 20 years from now when electronics start to fail.
