He is actually playing every thing you hear, the assumption of James is correct, he is creating his own loops via guitar pedal. The awesomeness here is how tight he is keeping time to overlap them in such precise way to the point that they feel programmed . Cheers for every one for proficiently playing their instruments on this level of professionalism.
Is nobody going to mention the fact Michael is using a Les Paul for "Awaiting Recession"? Like, an avant-garde tech-death band using a standard Les Paul? I'm not complaining, I'm just simply amazed.
this is so tight. unbelievable thats only 3 guys from NZ. not to mention the drummer... thats a weapon of mass destruction. holy crap that setlist is killer check out the german word "weltschmerz" to know what ULCERATE is all about
saw them for the first time like 4 years ago in a small venue on a last minute show for approx. $ 3 entrance fee. paid $ 5 though and never regretted it.
the guitars are way too low, if I didn't know the tracks I would've been lost like those people in the crowd, otherwise, good set. I love Ulcerate. One of my top 3 favorite bands of all time since I discovered their music \m/
@@serialdrunkdriver Take a look at Portal, Coma Cluster Void, Serpent Column, Primitive Man, Altarage, Mitochondrion, Impetuous Ritual... just a few recommendations off the top of my head. Most of these are cavernous/disso death metal, some have black and math influences like Coma Cluster Void and Serpent Column
piixiie1337 perfect band...complexity,agression,brutality,speed,odd time signatures, dissonance, memorable, atmosphere, best songwriting i mean fucking beautiful!!!
Honestly some people just like to get lost in the sound this guys make, don't get me wrong, i like some moshing when i feel like it, but the way you apreciate this music is obviously different. Personally i love this band and i would love to see them live, maybe i would be more focused listening and watching them rather than jumping around and punching people.
not really a moshing band. It is annoying how people insist on starting a mosh at every metal show I go to, metal is versatile and sometimes you just want to stand there and feel it. Its a personal experience for some
This is my favorite type of jazz
Jazz sure came a very long ways!🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
The guitarist should release an ambient album. I love some of the delay affected guitar drones that occur between songs.

My favourite metal band ever. Even after 10 years you can find new sounds in their music
their drummer is this generation's pete sandoval, absolutely mindblowing
More like this generation flo mounier!!
check out darkside from mgla
Certain parts it seems the guitarist is setting a loop and then playing the lead to cover both guitars in certain riffs. Amazing.
I think those are backing tracks, most likely.

Jesus. Internal clock wizardry from all three of them (no click, no problem!)
There are a lot of best drummers in the world, than there's Jamie.
Colossal sound for three lads.
Although not nearly as good as Ulcerate, another great-sounding trio is Dyscarnate
@@jbasti227 Daycent.
Check also Karmacypher, Baring Teeth...

Is for the TONE!!!
I would love to see acoustic version of this.

There're so few death metal bands that do it right. Ulcerate do it right. Immence.
Easily one of the best bands in the world ! \m/
Michael Hoggard changed my guitar playing,,, He's on a different plane.
Totally fucking agreed. I get so happy everyime i find someone who properly praises this band
best band right now....nobody are more intimidating in the scene!!!
Try some Portal hahah
frickin breathtaking set, saw them live with Gigan and Wormed a couple of years ago, smashing gig; kudos to Frank for yet another great recording
Frank Huang! You do the best work in filming bands!!! \m/ \m/
drummer is so precise
catface Nooooo, precise is Jamie St Merat in this case !!!😜
Surgical

Nick Russo their from alternate dimensional aliens!!

10:45-10:51 what a tasty ride/hat little fill. So much groove in just a second. Awesome musicianship
This right here!!!! I love this band!!! Not to mention that Michael Hoggard's guitar work is next level godliness.Behold The Future of Death Metal!!!
\m/
This shit is so fucking brutal it simply shouldn't exist
What a fucking band, need to see in person.
Keep coming back to this. The only better setlist I can imagine is a recent one with some tunes off Stare Into Death...

Insane!
unbelievable frightening
Fucking masters!!!

HedlessZombie favorite album???
theres only one guitar maybe that's why
@James Whittier, They use a backing track for the second and additional guitars.
Its Michael doing it, he loops the guitar with a pedal, but everything you hear is played live.
Destroyers of all, love the Vermis album just as much though lol@@isaaczaladar1174
I like DEATHSPELL OMEGA
yeah same man
These guys, DsO, and Gorguts are my unholy trinity
@@serialdrunkdriver bruh... best 3 bands hands down
@@depthsofabjection besides Blut Aus Nord I can't find anything further really it seems. I'd also add Defeated Sanity

brilliant!
Drummer just nailed it! Yeah, and the metal band of just three persons - wow, it makes all mistakes to count. And none were made.
Holy. Fucking.Shit.
I'm gonna see those aliens live this thursday in Moscow and it gonna be awesome!
DanMan DanMan shit they play drown within again !!!
wish they would of done this setlist in tampa. great show!

Up there with Hideous Divinity Tight as hell live though \m/
It all...... makes........... sense... now
YEAH!
i wouldn't know what to do in the crowd.. probably try to capture all the sincopation..
How about experience it rather than attempt to intellectualize like these trendy cunts..
epic!
Seeing them in 8 days in Baile Atha Claith with Malthusian as support. Fuckin RRRAaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!
they really need one or two other guitarists, though, judging from the one time I saw them
Jesus Christ, I’m almost insulted that people go ballistic at the closing of Cold Becoming. 😂
Which cameras do you use ?
it would be unfair to me and to this band to just stand there like this crowd did, i would ve cracked some bones moshing to this

очень не глупо
wtf is wrong with the crowd ??? they are petrified lol
they're taking in a spectacle
This crowd = a bunch of sissies. Look at them just stand there. They would have been crying in Montreal a couple weeks ago.
because is scary!!!
Both times i've seen Ulcerate I've been far too stunned/terrified to move.
It's far too fascinating to not watch also
TheLambIsGood sound fascinant man....i want before die watch them !!!
This isn't music you mosh idiotically to but take in whole
FutileExistence exactly to hear the apocalypse and dread on your mind!!!
