I say this Pocket Rocket can put to shame many others being graded in kata even to 9th Dan in their various styles. She has amazing snap, speed, strength & focus. She would be outstanding at Tai Chi. 11 out of 10 !
I enjoy this video since there is no cheering/clapping while the Karateka performing, unlike other videos where the tournaments held outside Japan. Probably this is the correct etiquette. cheering/clapping are so distracting

Very nice. I know nothing about karate. What do people think if all actions are soft at the start, soft at the end and the muscles only tighten up during the attack? That save a lot of energy and make the motions more fluent and actually assist a lot of the power during the attack? Actually I don't know much but that seems to be the way which Bruse Lee generated his energy.
That is exactly how the Katas are supposed to be performed in Karate. You should be fully relaxed and non tense as you execute the move. You only tense up at the point of impact and then you relax again, for the next move. Stiffness during the move will only slow you down resulting in less final power.
@stephen Dan She is very relaxed like a pro. It is import to "lock" your technique at execution called "Kime 決め" in Japanese. But only at that split second. There is no stiffness between moves. Unless you are an amateur like myself. I tend to put too much power and stiffen sometimes but that's not the way it 's supposed to be.
The control on the right knee when she resets at 2:52 is SO sick. So so controlled. I love it

Ive been a 1st Dan Shidokan Shorin Ryu and I don't do Kata the way she does....so inspiring to see this.
