Sadly, the evidentiary paper trail goes back to Michael Cohen. All through this testimony, it seems like Michael Cohen was involved. we have a tape recorded message that Trump was unaware that Cohen had paid the stripper any money. We know that Cohen admitted to paying the stripper out of his own funds and he needed to get a second mortgage on his residence. We now know that Michael Cohen admitted to being an embezzler.
The judge will do that. That's his job in this case.
All they have are retainer checks Trump paid to Cohen.

The Star Witness is always on trial and this is why in a case like this Alvin Bragg is also on trial as he used millions to pursue a case that was always weak But since he ran his campaign as DA on getting Trump he moved ahead and this was always a political trial not one he cared about. That is why they paid it out slowly to confuse things, Cohan unconfuses things along with documentations. The defense attorney is going nowhere with his cross examination. If I was juror at a minimum I would expect the defendant to testify in his own behalf. Trump is not gonna do that because it is a given he’s gonna incriminate himself. The prosecution proved its case and the verdict will be guilty as charged.

The best way to x-examine is to break the witness by proving point blank he's lying in respect of the issue on the witness stand and you do it early so the witness doesn't get into his or her stride. If you don't have the evidence that can break him or her down only then you might have to do it the way that guy says.

Remember if you believe Cohen stole, you just admitted that Trump is guilty. Cohen is saying these were reimbursements, if they were not, then he never stole. It would have been legal fees and then no theft. But Trump's entire defense is that this was just a retainer, and not a reimbursement at all. Even though it was the very very first time in Trump Co history that payments were grossed up. And reimbursements legally cannot be grossed up. That is the only way the whole testimony makes sense, and the tape of Trump and Cohen proves it. Grossing up a bill would never ever have been allowed by Trump under any circumstances. But it was the only way to cover up payments to make them not campaign expenses. Guilty!! Blanche not seizing on that is a fatal mistake.
