SMTP is Simple Mail Transfer Protocol for sending emails. The incoming is POP and stands for Post Office Protocol. I always remember SMTP as "sends message to people" Also the stick as you called it is an antenna. and the little hole in the front is not a speaker it's a microphone. Why on earth they let you do a review I will never know.

I had some problems with that so I would like to help you Setting it up. If you have problem with the Hc801G trail camera you need to load a cd ,that is given in the box with the camera, into computer. There you enter your phone number and/or email depends where you want to recieve the picture. Save the file on your microSD card and load the card into camera. You will need SIM card too. If you bought a new Sim card you will probably have a Pin/code activated that blocks the usage of card. To remove the code, put your sim into a phone then enter the code and go to settings where you can deactivate pin lock. Load your sim card into camera and you are ready to go! Hope this helped you...
I use SMTP not MMS. During some weeks it was working ok. Then stops to send photos. I bought a big omnidirectional antenna and since then it works fine.
suntek is just a b.s name for it. i got Denver wct-8010 from germany , look 100% identical to your suntek.. just that mine is without the 4g antenna and function. as anyother came, from china.
the 3 directional sensor is terrible for small game like wild rabbit in my garden vege bed. i returned my after the 1st use.. because it didnt capture when the rabbit comes in and when it goes out of view.. just suddenly the rabbit is in the video..
Have you set it up to send pics by SMS or SMTP email? I've tried EE, O2 & vodaphone PayG sims with the HC550G & failed. It looks like the Crenovas I've got, good cams better quality than my Apeman except it's 'no glow'. Used to set up PCs & modems so it's familiar tech.

Some have set up with Vodaphone & created it's own email address, or receive an SMS image by sending code "*500*" to camera's PayG mobile number - I've got it answering if it's on or off & battery life - but no pic - yet!

if you have the camera with the cloud software in it, than read it's manual. however i found the cloud software would be very nice - BUT unable to use, because only chinese (and some other) provider was pre-configured and you have no chance to set your provider's APN. Also support does not really helpful in this topic.

While making timelapse photos can it send pictures in original resolution via FTP?

high sensitivity just triggered even by small birds like dove or pheasants for me...

btw, my new trail came uses 8 batteries.. and half of the battery gone after just a night.. taken 7 videos of 30s each.
I could send and receive MMS from the device but it don't alert me when it detect movement. HC-801M am I doing something wrong?
Battery life is not great at all!!! In winter it dies after 3 photos sent!!
Next time use better batteries. After one week at temperature around 0˙C stil 100% level. Duracell Procell.
