What's your favourite Kris Kristofferson movie?
Come on now! This is right up there with Godard! What’s yours?! Please tell me so I can go and see it! If it’s a bad movie I’ll never trust you again, and I’m pretty sure he’s never been in a good movie. I dare you!
Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid. Did you had Sam Peckinpah on your show as well, Dick? If so, please put it up.

Stagecoach is one of my favorite things to watch, Kris, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash all in one
Such a nice, genuine, and highly talented guy, definitely! Not even an ounce of vanity -- the way of the greatest.
Kris did an outstanding job in A Star is Born!!
I enjoy watching actors talk about their craft. Cavett does well to give them room.
It's great to see another clip from this interview. Hearing what Kris says about Cimino and knowing how he'd worked up to that kind of starring role I'm sure it hurt that the picture not only died at the box office but it certainly derailed Kris' film career.
Considered as a legendary masterpiece in Europe, anyway. (I do remember very vividly seeing the original editing in a huge old-fashioned movie theater, on its 1981 release, and the same, years before, about 'Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid').
K.K. Had a concert in Vienna, Europe , in 2018, it was a first and presumably Last chance to see HIM, Here, and around,...:-/what shame, ,i missed it... 😎
message from Patricia Crawford: all of them!!!!
I thought he was great in
A Star is Born
I LOVE A STAR IS BORN!
A genius 👏
The Dick Cavett Show is my dad.
Pat Garett and Billy the Kid
For which Bob Dylan did the soundtrack (he also was given a part in the actual film -- the experience of the film shoot in Mexico would also inspire a later song of his, 'Romance in Durango').
And Kristofferson later did the voiceover in the opening part of the Dylan biopic 'I'm Not There.'
@@ronmackinnon9374*Still do own the original LP I bought at the time, with that touching -- and so significant -- mention by Dylan: "Dedicated to Sam Peckinpah". 🙏🏻♥️🙏🏽♥️🙏
Love all his movies and, singing!! Sexy Man!!
At 3:11, that's 'Heaven's Gate' he's referring to. It had been released only about two weeks before this interview, and was getting bashed by the critics. The studio (United Artists) was already reeling by how much over budget Cimino had gone in making the film, and they soon pulled it from theaters. The following spring, they re-released it in a shortened version, but it still only made back a small fraction of its costs. It was one of the biggest financial fiascos in film history. Over time, though, more and more critics have given it a favorable reappraisal. (Never seen it myself.)
Just watched it first time. Truly a masterpiece

And a Road Scholar too.
@@ianbauer4703 What’s a road scholar?
@@Veritas111 Someone who learns things in life whilst on the road, or street, so to speak.
@@ianbauer4703 Never hear that term. Ok
@@Veritas111 Itis the highest honor of scholar study offered to only the most brilliant of students who have shown a perfect academic record in grades and syidies. Kris won because he had entered in writing contests and his essays had won each time, plus e ad a perfect 4,0 GPA

I don't care what the critics say A Star Is Born and Heaven's Gate are two great films. Rogert Ebert liked A Star Is Born but he put down Heaven's Gate.

What
have nothing against the other celebs that were on this show but is this channel ever going to show the Dick Cavett shows where he interviews Jackie Gleason or Art Carney? How about any Honeymooners actors that were part of the main cast? These are rarities much like the other ones.
