The police is absolutely right here. It is the owner's responsibility to ensure that the registration number should have been there on the bike, even if it was the temporary number plate. Most importantly you got a good cop, who was so polite.

As per MV Act 1988, a motor vehicle owner gets 30 days of time after getting the temporary registration number. After the said duration if the owner doesn't have the number plate then a FIR can be lodged

Temporary registration is only valid for 1 month, he purchased that bike 2 months ago according to police in this video.

1. You are riding a bike without a number{permanent or temporary}
2. Do not ride if you have not got the number..
3. If the company doesn't give the number drag them to court, or just complaint to the magistrate.
4. The cop was perfect in his tone but trust me you were getting a bit aggressive { just a bit }
5. Your saying that pakad hi na paate is foolish and seriously has signs of bachpana.
6. Here in Chandigarh the cop wouldn't have entertained you even by listening to what you have to say.. Your bike would have been impounded there and then or challaned on your DL. So appreciate good cops always.

I agree with Sreerag here, you ride well, however if your vehicle is not registered, you cannot use it on public roads; there's a lot of reasons for this law.
As for the hazard lights, use it if there's a hazard, it's in the name, they're not meant for style or for anything else;
If there's debris on the road, if you're riding at dark and want to be more visible, then you can use them. I see no need for them to be on otherwise
Only the service centre guys can use the bike on tc number that too to move the bike from godown to the showroom.. if you have the receipt from rto then u can ride it even if u don’t have the number.

It's entirely the RTO's fault. The tax payment and registration fees are paid online and you get a receipt for that. Then it's up to the RTO to mail you the registration card. It took me 2 months to receive the registration of my Kawasaki Vulcan S and that too after getting someone in government service to talk to them.
This is what happens when you are so excited to showoff your new ride....that you forget the basic rules.
I have seen people making this common mistake even when the showroom guys told them that you cant ride until you get the vehicle no.

@@fairose1052 don't take delivery of the bike unless RTO gives high security number plates and it is attached to your bike permanently. It takes time for the number plates to come but that waiting is worth it. I waited 18 days for my number plates after paying 2,20,000 cash for my Suzuki Gixxer SF 250. The wait was painful but still I waited.
