Welcome back to another season of Saturday Sportster! This season Tim Fiorucci of Fiorucci Fabrications builds a Harley-Davidson Ironhead Sportster from start to finish. In this series you will learn how easy it is to take a Ironhead Sportster motor and stock frame and turn it into a killer custom chopper motorcycle. All while utilizing a ton of parts we offer right here at lowbrowcustoms.com. With this season we are taking the technical and fabrication skills up a notch but walking you through each step and really diving in deep. Our hope with this series is to give everyone watching this more confidence in building custom choppers. And Just like the last series, each of the jobs we are doing to this bike can be knocked out on a Saturday!
In this first episode, Tim starts off with an Ironhead motor and stock frame. He walks you through how to determine what style Ironhead frame you may have and what bolt-on hardtail kit will work best for your frame. You will then see the process on how to install the frame and mount the motor in place. Lastly Tim shows you how to install the rear wheel onto your newly installed hardtail frame. So break out those tools, grab a beverage and let's get to work!
WHAT PARTS WERE USED TO BUILD THE SATURDAY SPORTSTER 2?
Interested in how to build a custom Sportster, and what parts to use on the build? Well, you made it to the EXACT right place :) Watch the Saturday Sportster and follow along! You can find all the parts used when building the Saturday Sportster at www.lowbrowcus...

Who else has just finished SS-S1 and now watching Season2?? WOOOO!
Todd/Tim awesome content man. Learned so much with these videos. Many thanks!
Happy to have Saturday Sportster back again! But I’m missing the chingas and woos
Well, Todd will be back for season three! He is ready to rock, but we are still filming and editing season 2! Stay tuned :)
@@lowbrowcustoms woo hoo!!! Love watching for the Toddisms!!!
Automatic thumbs up for the shop dog. And another thumbs up for the "mount the frame to the motor, not the motor to the frame" trick. Great idea.
So happy this series is back for another season!!
Glad to see an ironhead get some luvvv
i love watching these types of video's as i'm currently hard tailing my 1988 Sportster. using the lowbrow customs weld on hard tail.👍
Man. I love the Saturday sportster series. So glad it’s back
Buzzing for another series! And the new dude is cool too 😎
The older I get which will be 60 soon the more I want to do this because I am sick and tired of moving my 2017 ultra around.
Heavy bikes just are too damn hard to move around and take up a lot of room in my garage great for touring but not anything else like around town. Great videos Thanks
It’s baaaaaaaaaackkkkkk
Great start to season 2!!!!
Thanks a lot for this series! As living in Germany where Harleys are mostly ridden by rich folks, imposter type guys or dangerous gang members, I very much appreciate the attitude of you LOWBROW people. Cheers!
Stoked!! Just what I need to help finish up this 84 ironhead I’ve been sitting on.
Awesome, im currently looking to get my 77 sportster going. Probably womt be chopping it, but we will see throughout this video.
That’s a really nice looking motor. Glad Ralph was allowed to make a small cameo appearance!
Bolt on hardtail? I love that, think it’s great since not to many irons left to truly chop up imo, gotta save the ones we can.
Shame you still have to cut it up…. Would be nice option to get it completely back to stock
indeed... i think i want to hardtail my 78 sportster, but can't bring myself to chop it up. bolt on lets you test the water, and can roll it back if you don't like it.
ive had this kit in my wishlist for a year, but never pulled the trigger, because i couldn't find a quality example of how it would look
Really wish you guys did the weld on kit so I know how to do a disc brake set up. But nevertheless im here and happy you’re back!
I've been eyeing the bolt on hardtail for my '78, but haven't pulled the trigger because i couldn't find any good quality examples of it installed.
can't wait to see how this turns out.
I miss Todd and his WHOO! But this was an enjoyable episode.
Oh cool glad to see the Saturday Sportster is back. Hey y'all make that bolt on hardtail kit for a 91 883 Sportster. Another thing I would have done is I would have painted the frame or had my frame powder coat.
Glad to see this series is back. I'm sad that Todd's not doing it but the new guy seems ok. : ) I'm new to hard tail conversions. I've never seen the bolt on style, just the weld on version where you cut your original frame in half. How much longer is the bike using this bolt on hard tail?
This is a killer build. 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Awesome thanks Tim !!
That camera work was so clean i put my saftey squints on🤣🤣🤣🤣
Like to have a bolt in hardtail section for a stock Sportster 2008 Frame.
No bolt-on one is available due to the stock frame design, BUT Lowbrow has the highest quality and best engineered full custom frames and weld-on hardtails for 2004 & later Sportsters!
Id love to see a bolt on one for a big twin shovelhead. Would like to hardtail mine but id rather not chop my frame up 😅
You do nice work cleaning up those bikes. It must take a while to detail them
A bolt on hardtail that looks good might I say?.
I love the look of the Ironhead motors, but I think I’ll probably end up with an Evo. I just don’t think there’s as much knowledge of the Ironheads this side of the pond and wouldn’t want to end up always working on it instead of riding it.
They make a half-link for that chain.
Is there a mount from the front cylinder head to the front of the frame right where it splits into the two down tubes?
HEY LOWBROW 👋 what do you guys personally think is better? Bolt on hardtail or weld on hardtail, just got myself a 79 AMF ironhead and have been of doing a bolt of for the convenience.
Is the rear wheel an aluminum 18” or the steel 18” sportster wheel
Sorry if this has already been asked. What is the grit on the flap wheel you used to radius around the boss?
50 grit. Would recommend using a DA to send with finer abrasive before painting if you are doing it yourself. - Tim
Agreed, although it’s not going to be the same without Todd!
does the motor even need to come out for this?
No but if you plan on painting the parts that you cut off or re powder coating an old frame, it’s gonna have to come in and out anyway. If you don’t pull the motor to cut those rear section. Make sure to cover your motor so you don’t get any metal junk all over it from the cut off wheel
What if you have a later ironhead? I have a 81 and it doesn't seem like there's a specific bolt on hars tail I can find full frame and weld on.
Have to do a Weldon section - www.lowbrowcustoms.com/products/the-gasbox-weld-on-hardtail-rear-frame-section-for-1952-1981-h-d-ironhead-sportster
The camera man must have tickled you at 22:26?
The back of that case has some serious welds on it, did I miss him explaining what happened? If he didn’t say, anyone know why that would be necessary? Looks pretty serious!
Motor was rebuilt by Delzani… prob before they got it someone blew something out if it, but it’s solid now and is a total runner
@@lowbrowcustoms cool, thanks for the quick reply! Love this series so far, looking forward to episode 2!
DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY HE DIDN'T PAINT THE FRAME AND HARD TAIL B4 HE STARTED BOLTING IT BACK TOGETHER.
This is the mock up stages my man... He's building this bike from scratch. When you build a bike, you mock it up first. Figuring out all mounting locations for everything, like rear fender, exhaust etc... and then tearing it all down and then painting and then build it all back again, plumb and wire. this is only episode one, you got a lot more episodes to watch my friend.
So. Elephant in the room... 4:18 made me really uncomfortable.
more uncomfortable than 6:28 with the red hot cutting wheel aimed at his hand? 😧
Lets just throw safety completely out the window
Sportsters take an Evo engine right? I’m a rookie don’t judge me 😂😂
