Keep buying in the end I don't have enough to do much with, so it's the only option..if the price goes down I'll buy more, if it goes up, it will take me longer per purchase, but I will still continue 😊
Rambling! 👍 I don’t want to sell now, but life happens. My wife was laid off and I’ve had some medical issues that have kept me from working for a few weeks. Keeping the house is more important than maintaining the stack. Glad to have the metals during a challenging time. I’ve always considered gold and silver as a savings account that is likely to be better than saving in US dollars. So, if we have to sell to pay the bills, we are still better off than if we had just stayed in US dollars.
I bought my first gold and silver 15 years ago. It seemed expensive at the time, and I wondered if I'd done the right thing. Gave my 3 kids a 1 oz gold bar and a 10 oz silver bar each, which they still have. Bought some for my wife and I too. Best performing Christmas presents ever! Gold was about AUD $1200 per oz, now $4100 - don't remember the silver price but it wasn't a lot. It's never too late.
I was buying gold when gold was at $1,500, these baby boomers could have had gold at $30 per troy ounce, every baby boomer should be very wealthy, if they're not, they made a huge mistake not buying gold
"Will you start the fans please." Sorry couldn't resist. When I saw your tub of 1g gold and silver bars I had to write the above. Anyone who watched The Crystal Maze back in the 1990s will get it. Remember for each silver collected we take away 1 gold.
I remember when gold smashed through £1000, and it doesn't really seem that long ago either, thinking "my god, gold is so expensive" Now the same can be said about £2000, and we think it's expensive.... and so on into the future ! 004 👍😎
Gold and silver are so fascinating and will definitely be part of our future for money somehow. Cool to see you making fractional and denominational. I agree with the silver to gold ratio and have high expectations for silver.
As I have just today purchased a couple of sovs, I can virtually guarantee the price will drop. That's how it usually goes with me. Can't wait for the pull back forever.
Love those wafers of preciousness in that container! I am still buying on a budgeted schedule. Yes, the HIGH price stings, but the value retained is comforting. Your pours are terrific. TY for sharing.
Some guys in Middle East are sitting here with kilo bars from 2000, bought from the banks here after they realised there wasnt going to be a Y2K crash 😵 They can easily re-sell them or exchange them for fractional at the country spot price any time to any dealer by visiting the gold souk 😮 No liquidity issues at all!
Being in the lower wagie bracket its fractionals and sovreigns for me. Its a slow process but i should be able to reach my modest target before the price truly sky rockets.
I just bought a couple more ounces of gold a couple weeks ago and I’m glad I did when I did because it’s gone up over a hundred dollars since. I don’t see it going down significantly anytime soon, I think anything under $3,000/oz is a bargain compared to what it’ll be this time next year!
I think if one has a strategy of buy regularly then there is no reason not to continue. Obviously it makes sense to buy the dips. Being British gold is still good value vs silver but it’s great to have both.
I started buying in 2008 when gold was a record £575/oz during the global financial crisis. 3-coin sov premium sets were still selling for as low as £570 in 2010/11. Seems laughable now

I’m at just over 12 ounces of gold now, it’d be nice to get 15 but at these prices stacking is turning into one expensive hobby! I’d buy silver without the VAT. Think they’ll ever remove it like they did with gold in the early 2000’s? 004
004004 lovely pieces. I agree with you about gold reaching $3k b4 years out. Been rising so fast last few days, silver also definetly thinking of your fraction pieces of both shiny things, love your poured pieces too
Serial 004 Personally I am still buying though it is taking me longer to get the ounces in. I am not buying shrapnel (fractional) because I have found that the dealers don't give the best rates for anything under 1oz in my experience (though admittedly I haven't sold much). The way I see it, I won't be selling my stack until another 24 years when I'm 60, so I need to keep buying because I am nowhere near the selling stage yet. I've always said when I'm 50 I'll stop buying and then at 60 I'll sell everything, so anything I buy up to 50 will still have 10 years of growth. Show me a 10 year-gap graph where gold hasn't rocketed upwards in a decade 😊 I wouldn't even mind if gold dropped a couple hundred quid because I'll be able to stack more ounces quicker over the next 14 years

Now that eBay have got rid of their fees at least for private sellers you get 100% of what you sell for. Still a risk to sell on eBay though. I'm still buying silver. Any dip in price and I'll buy my last 3 ozs of gold for my kids inheritance.

Did you hear about the 740k tonnes of Gold found in Greece

I haven't heard about that, no.
That's an estimate by a mining company and also if it's true would be 740k tonnes of ore not just gold! I'd say it's all garbage tbh.
I would say until it's out the ground be very cautious about this news!
@Pumpanddump-o6v LOL the bailout was a scam, Germany helped them out but the amount Germany charged them was a lot more than what they were given
