Did an identical Golf yesterday Kev, was comparing notes to see what I'd done slower. :-) No way on earth can I lift them boxes out using my arms. Nope. Not back in again either. You must be strong as a bull. I spent the extra 15 minutes & pulled back the subframe so I could use a jack. Them boxes are heavy sods. I'm also watching your Milwaukee tools open stuff a lot easier than my junk does. Might be time to change.
@@WMCS Not off - just pull the 4 main bolts, couple of other small ones, let it drop a bit - the antirollbar holds it, then pull it back a few inches. That lets the gearbox go in & out without so much twisting - which doesn't bother you as you use yer arms ( ....... ) but for mere humans, makes it a lot easier. :-) Rear gearbox/engine stay doesn't need to come off, it goes with the subframe. RH driveshaft can stay too - just open the 6 splines on the box, pull it aside.
Do you have much hassle with them slave/ bearings -bleeding them ?? - Do you use a preassure bleeder on them ?? - they were a step backwards not forward !!! Hope we gett somme dryer weather soon !!

On Golf MK7 Sachs clutch it says to use a Self Adjusting Clutch took, which just presses down the clutch before tightening the bolts of the pressure plate to the flywheel. I see you don't use a SAC tool. Is the tool nessessary to use when changing a VW Golf MK7 TDI
@@WMCS That is ridiculous Kevin, I hope they are compensating as they are not cheap mate. Go back to the old fashioned one same as me. The low entry helps though I bet.

Definitely not as effective as an external one. But if correct protocol gets followed it should last

It keeps failing and sinking down. Very bad hydraulic pump. Very cheaply made ..
