Here we go again... I've seen many videos on shoe care and shining... But I have never seen this. Even from supposed experts. The experts say "You can use any shoe dye or polish and go around the sole with it. I mean, it's 'okay'. It certainly looks better. But this is next level. The shoe sole looks totally new. And there are specific tools for this so it's not some guy making it up..... Great video...
I saw this recently and as i had the good fortune to be in London the other day popped along to princess arcade to visit Arterton and buy an edge iron. Warning! if you're a chap who like a good pair of shoes and likes to look after them Arterton is possibly the most dangerous store in London, i could have spent far too much time and money there. Now, ss someone who has been using dye on his shoe soles for some time the only other thing I'd like to suggest is use blue painters tape around the uppers where they meet the sole for safety. I once had a bottle of perfume thrust under my nose whilst applying dye to my soles with a request to "smell this" which caused me to get brown dye on oxblood uppers, not good.
Man am I glad you're presumably already well off or else I'd be frustrated by the fact you only have 5k subs. Quality all around, from the set-up to the info to the delivery 10/10.
Hey Mr. DressWell, Andrew here. I don't know if you'd do it, but I think a video on cobblers would be great! Specifically online ones because where I am from, Guam, we don't really have a cobbler shop on this small island. I love dress shoes and will be most likely purchasing some TLB Mallorca's thanks to ya. I like your content a lot and watch it while I work. Keep up the great work. As for this comment, I don't really see a clear path to take for cobblers, since I'm from a tropical island I'd imagine, my shoes would need to see a cobbler sooner than most city people. Please halp me with ur guidance. thx
Hi Andrew, that's a tricky one. With shipping costs, it may almost make sense to get a new shoe altogether. That said, for any nice shoe I would stick to a reputable cobbler in Manhattan. I am not an expert on this matter, though from my understanding B. Nelson is quite reputable: bnelsonshoes.com/ You could contact them and ask if they can do a ship-in repair/resole. If they don't I am sure they would be able to point you do a good cobbler who can in Manhattan. I hope that helps!
Competition ready sole edge and heel. I have decent success using the Fiebing's or Allen Edmonds edge dressings. But these edge dressings will not produce the results you just showed. I will try the waxing of the way demonstrated. I will use a neutral wax to avoid the risk of staining carpets. Nice to pull this off while wearing a jacket and tie.
Great video bud. My edges need a touch up. This is brilliant. I was sweating watching you wash that glass full of dye with a suit on haha. See you on the next one. 👍
Thank you! It is the same wax all throughout. The one I am holding in my hand just happened to be the Pate de Luxe line from Saphir instead of their MDO. MDO is supposed to be better, according to the company, though the difference does not seem significant.
Hi. Loving you channel , Learning about the shoes from you , thanks for that.. Who made the suit ?? It’s gorgeous, there is a great suit maker here in Richmond that does beautiful work , very similar ( Especially the Red buttonhole :-) I;ve not been able to visit them yet but now that I’ve seen your fabric I want to !!!! - Jon ❤❤
The product I am using both before and after ironing is the same Saphir Wax. No need for a separate cream/polish product. The same wax for priming and shining will do.
You can use the same iron for everything dark. I don't think cleaning it is too necessary, as product should not be building up on it in a way that creates a noticeable visual impact. If you do find the need to clean it, though, I suggest taking a cloth and very lightly dampening it with a 30/70 mix of 70% isopropyl alcohol and water. Then, rub the iron with the cloth. You can go heavier on the alcohol if you find the need to, though I suggest less at first because you don't want to dry out the wood with the alcohol, especially because you shouldn't need to much anyway.
I have black chelsea boots with a brown outsole. Can I use leather/wood stain to change the brown to black? Or at least a very dark brown would be okay.
Ahh... Suits, cufflinks, preening hair, care about ironing perfect creases etc. the sure sign of 20-29 year olds in middle management who don't have a clue what they're doing but like to pretend they're important to the generic public by driving a BMW. Once you ACTUALLY get rich you won't drive a BMW or dress like this and realize Rolex is for poor people who think that's what rich people should wear.

Thank you! I always appreciate your comments. Good to see you again.
The content is fantastic. Keep them rolling!!
Thanks! Will do!
Outstanding quality mixed with the perfect amount of humour. I love you.
I love you too.
Great timeing. I needed to touch up some shoes and plenty of spare dye to use.
Interesting, I didn't know about the edge iron but the value is clear.
One of the best guides in the game for real

Thanks for posting. Useful and informative.
Glad it was helpful!
Subscribed! I saw you use a different wax on top of the Medaille D'Or. Is there a particular reason for that? Great video!

Question: is it necessary for me to use polish for the final step or can I just use the same wax I used before Ironing⁉️😀
The product I am using both before and after ironing is the same Saphir Wax. No need for a separate cream/polish product. The same wax for priming and shining will do.
Great info. Thank you.
Another Question: is there an easy way to clean my sole edge iron (same one you use) or should I just get another one for my black shoes?
You can use the same iron for everything dark. I don't think cleaning it is too necessary, as product should not be building up on it in a way that creates a noticeable visual impact. Yes, you can use the same leather dye in black to change the color of the outsole just as you would restore an existing color.
Why would you use dye while wearing your suit and watch?😱😱😱
