BMW E36 M3 Suspension Overhaul - Episode 1: Teardown

After years of planning, the E36 M3 suspension overhaul begins!
Follow along as I overhaul every component of the suspension on my 1997 BMW E36 M3 sedan. In this episode, I kick off the project and completely disassemble both front and rear suspension.
Future episodes will walk through 2 years worth of work detailing, rebuilding and reassembling this car and bringing the suspension back to life.

Quick question when you removed the engine subframe, how is the engine being held up?

Thanks! I used an engine support bar, it supports the engine from above. Check out images on Google to see how it works. I got mine at Harbor Freight.

How long did it take to drop everything?

Thanks! I took my time and worked at an enjoyable pace, 3 or 4 days total. I could have saved a bunch of time by dropping both subframes as complete assemblies but I intentionally moved at a slow pace for this one.
