- The restaurant customer who shot and killed an armed robber is coming forward. The drama erupted at a restaurant in Houston, Texas. An armed robber ordered everyone in the restaurant to hand over their money. As the gunman walked by, an armed customer fatally shot the robber. The customer then took off in a pickup truck before police arrived at the scene. Now, the armed diner's lawyer reached out to the district attorney's office saying his client wants to talk about what happened.
The gun might be fake but the robbery was real
But no matter the robbery, it was shooting him in the back when he's leaving. You can't shoot a guy in the back who's leaving, even if cash stolen. A Korean store owner was jailed for 7 years for shooting a armed robber in the back when he was fleeing.

That is not correct- police can be prosecuted if a criminal is not an immediate threat, as it should be. I've seen many instances where police give 10-15 commands to a suspect to drop the gun, and commend them for saving many lives.

He still did the right thing and the robber did a really stupid thing but it's very sad. Too many dumb people think it's like a videogame but real life happens fast. The robber chose to rob people with a gun (seemingly real) and even robbed another guy before who died as a result. This was about as justified a shooting as you could get.
I didn't see a life or death situation. According to google bard there is 0.14% chance of death while robberies in US. That man just straight up killed another man to get back his wallet. I understand the pressure but man didn't have to die.
New York needs to pay attention to this.
Ummm, the police want this man…
TO GIVE HIM A MEDAL.
This guy is a hero, it doesn’t matter if the gun was fake or not, the guy didn’t take any chances and could’ve saved others lives.
It does matter???
Use you're brain
Facts
While it’s great that he took action quickly and saved people’s lives potentially, we cannot ignore the fact that he was clearly going for the kill on the robber. He shot the robber in the head and then felt the need to shoot 3 more times. He fully executed the robber.
He did execute the guy though....
@@stephenhill3286 you have to eliminate the threat.
FYI. The robber's name was Eric Eugene Washington, who was sentenced to 15 years for armed robbery in 2013 (a robbery in which a man was killed). He served only 6 years and was released on parole in January 2021. Apparently, Washington was not a changed man.
Disgusting
Well he started robbing with nonlethals, look like he learned some lesson. Besides we have no clue how eric was living before and after incarceration. Socioeconomic circumstances can lead a person to take desperate actions, thats why you guys should invest more in rehabilitation and less on arming every average Joe waiting for his vigilante moment to shine

we want the same laws in Italy
It's good to see you can still defend yourself without going to prison

Well we got to remember it’s in Texas
I can't imagine how that man feels not only taking someones life, but on top of that knowing the fact that it was a toy gun. That is bound to add an extra load of stress.
I’m sure he’s not too upset about it any more than he would be after stomping the on a cockroach
He did not take someones life, he took out a robber's life. If you want to play this games get ready for the consequences, period.
That Ghetto-Blaster got what he deserved. It doesn't matter if it was a toy gun.
Yep, exactly. Thugs cause regular citizens unnecessary stress everyday. Just because you rob people with a toy gun, doesn’t make the action any less cruel.
But he only knew that after the fact
self defense, toy or not.
Justified.
The robber valued their possessions more than his life.
This man was not in the wrong, he defended himself, the customers and the business of which he was a patron. We need men like this who will not allow lawlessness in their communities.
This guy would absolutely be charged if he was black.
nah bro. I certainly do think that people should be allowed to take measures into their own hands in situations like this. the guy from what i've seen in the video didn't look like he was much of a threat. flailed his gun around quite randomly. that said, you absolutely never know what people do in these kinds of situations so i think it's generally absolutely justified.
that said, the enormously big red flag is the fact that the guy took off immediately no questions asked without contacting the police tells me everything I need to know about the guy. definitely think he should be prosecuted to a degree.
Wait a Minute...i tought you only supposed to use a gun at ur own home for protection against robbers not carry a gun outside your own home for dangers to others...i tought that was the American law?? Anyways im against voilance in general...may jesus Christ guide this fallen world🌎 🙏🏾 ❤Amen!
yes
@@themightypotato3857I hope you're never on a jury.
The armed customer did nothing wrong in this situation. The fact that robber was using a fake gun is meaningless, no one else in that situation knew until the guy was taken down. The armed customer not only protected himself, but he also protected the other customers and employees of the restaurant from a man perceived to be a threat.
The hooded teen was forced into life of crime because of systematic racism and didn't deserve to be murdered by a trigger happy white supremacist. The white guy will probably serve life sentence for this while the teen's family will likely get millions of dollars in fundraising as compensation. No mother should have to fear for her son's life when he is robbing a place.

If this guy gets prosecuted for self defence then it proves beyond a shadow of a doubt how broken the US justice system is.
It's texas. He'll be fine
That's normal in some countries in Europe. Unless someone stabs you, you can't stab them back, it's ridiculous
