  • Building a model wood framed L-1011 RC airliner, designed from scratch using Fusion 360 CAD modeling. Woodworking with 3 mm Baltic birch plywood cut on a laser CNC machine.
Carbon fiber parts molded from 3D printed mold patterns. Processed used was wet layup lamination. brackets and mounts are 3D printed from nylon carbon fiber composite filament called NylonX sourced from ‪@MatterHackers‬
The model in this video is being developed as a kit.
This is an summarized excerpt from the most recent airliner build video. this details the development and prototyping of the 1:20th scale model airliner.
Made for model builders, aviation enthusiasts, and RC Fans.

Thank you for watching 😃 I am hoping to get some time to create a build debrief video where I give more details into my process.

Wow. Great build but I can't imagine the planning involved in getting all those pieces to fit together like that.

It takes a lot of planning for sure. The fit is usually not an issue since it solved in CAD, but the assembly order and making sure nothing was designed in a way that makes assembly not possible is where the real challenge has been. Several changes had to be made to this section after discovering parts couldn't be assembled because of blockages. Good times.

I think if you decide to pursue RC kit making on a full time basis there's no doubt you'll succeed. Enjoy all your great videos.
