I love how Tim can redefine what ring REALLY means, and stay singing lead on all four parts. This is art. And you consistently raise the game with EVERY new recording. GOAT!
Hey man, your new quartet sounds great. Hope you guys are going to compete.
Thanks so much, Niko!! That means a lot! I keep working hard!
@@SignatureStampsFan thanks so much! I’m excited!
Hear hear! 🙌👏👏🎶💖
@NikoPorter dude, this was on my list of tags to sing with you in Indiana this past weekend. Freakin phenomenal, and made even better by Tim (of course)!
This man is definitely the best singer on RUclips. Great job!
Yup^
Thank you so much, James! Huge compliment right there!
💯
Just a fool that loves Barbershop!
The best kind of fool is a dancing fool!
Crazy overtone at the end
😃
WOWWWWWW!!!!!!! That was insane!! That final chord was like an organ on full power, mind blowing Tim!! 💈💈
Thanks so much!! 😃
Hello, Tim. My choir teacher actually met you at a workshop, if I remember correctly, and he is the one that introduced me to you. He's also a tenor by the way. I just want to say that you have an amazing voice, and if I had a voice with a range like that, I'd be singing almost all of the time, even though I'm a Bass. Keep singing, because you have a gift that should be cherished, and I know you probably won't see this comment, so if you do, just know that I have cried listing to some of your music simply because of how you sing it. Keep up the good work.
I got chills. Wow. 🫶👏
Some of these overlapping lines got me tripping up on the bassline. When the lead goes below the bass at 0:10, I was so confused at what I was hearing. lol
Man, I love barbershop.
THE OVERTONES UGHHHHH
That’s just Tim.
If AutoTune could become a human, its lifelong dream would be to sing even half as accurately as Tim. Simply amazing, dude!
Every single time I throw on headphones and watch one of your videos, I am brought close to tears. I have definitely cried a few times. Thank you for the beauty you pour into your art!!
Hayden clapped and said yay after this one! ❤
Yesss I'll take it!
That ending was beautiful. Wow
Thank you!!
0:38 what in all that is holy was that chord. My god the tone is immaculate. Always bangers with you Tim never duds
Thanks so much!!
it's basically a D7 chord in second inversion on "kind" and then in root position on "of," but spelled with a B# instead of C due to the harmonic context.
@@brandonmartell2361 I wish I could understand that from the start
That "I am" swap at the end was effin PERFECT!!! 💯🎶
The perfect Barbershop Quartet. That’s all there is to say.
Tags are awesome, but when done by Tim, they are sheer perfection.
I know you can’t see it, but I am giving you a standing ovation 👏🏼
We don't hear baritone posts very often, but when we do get to hear it, it's quite the treat!
A very talented one obviously!!! Thanks for everything you do to keep the whole world singing Tim!
Thank you, Trenton!!
How is it you always manage to raise expectations with each song, and still manage to exceed them every time?
Asking what kind of clown am I is how I spend my mornings each day.
ha!! Same!
A classic tag! Well done, Tim!
On a side note, I blasted this at a traffic light, windows down. No regrets.
Babe wake up, the guy with 4 lungs just posted, love the tags keep it up please!!
Oh, this one is wonderful! I love it! And you, my friend, sang it beautifully. Bravo! 🙌🙌👏👏👏🎶🎶💖💖💖
Thanks so much, Megan!! It's one of my favs!
Week after week I am again and again impressed!!! It‘s genuinely hard to come up with good new comments to describe this awesomeness at this point haha! Well done my friend!
A constant reply of mine when people ask me how I'm doing is this; "I get better with age!" Tim, you redefine that statement every time we hear you sing! No matter the arrangement, the group or specific time-sensitive feature of that week, we're given a clinic on the JOY in singing, how to make any song come to life, what it means to turn every single sound into its highest possibility of ringing, and we're simply loving how you invite everyone in! I LOVE THIS!!!!! Time to go back and listen another 20 times!!!!
This was a really cool one. Great job Tim!
Thank you!!
As always, incredible, Tim!
Thank you!!
Bravo bravo bravo Tim
I adore this chart, one of the all-time great ones - thanks for wringing every bit of emotion from it, Tim! ❤️❤️❤️🙌🙌🙌
Thanks so much!! And I agree , it's a great chart!
That pure "oo" vowel from 0:40 to 0:44 is such a juicy chord. Absolutely nailed it, as per usual!
Oh my my‼️‼️‼️‼️
That was fantastic...thank u
Your voice always makes me smile, Great job
Incredible and every cover is creative!!! I never thought I’d love barbershop but you definitely got me hooked to listen to it 🙂. Random question - are people allowed to give suggestions/ideas (NOT requests!) for covers?
I love how every Tuesday I can count on a regular shot of endorphins! It's goosebump-Good!
Bravo Nice Tim!
Thank you!!
Wow
You should do mamselle!!!
Really really cool. Always good to hear a new tag every week.
Spectacular tag! I will keep this one in my collection for sure. I love the lead and tenor movement on this one especially. What video software do you use for your split screens?
Thanks so much!! I have a someone who puts the video together for me in Premiere. I think there are other programs that work well too like Final Cut Pro.
This is really good. I especially love all of the harmonies, and I also love the way you made it sound so smooth. Keep up the great work Tim.
Hey Tim can you do john dowland." can she excuse my wrongs "?
thanks!
Can you do "It's you I like" arr. Cay Outerbridge?
Great tag, great song! I can remember MCC doing this years ago and it was certainly one of my favorites to perform. Thanks for performing it here again. You nailed it!
Awesome!!!❤
I mean does he switch from head/mixed on the penultimate note (D natural) and then transition to chest on the high C on the tenor line?
Harrington tag?
Yup!
Am I crazy, or is there a version of this tag where the post ends up being the fifth? I like this version better, it flows more naturally to my ear, but now I'm doubting whether that "other" version even exists or I'm making it up.
You're not making it up. Some people hit the penultimate E9, switch the post to the bass's B, then have the bari slide to E♮ before resolving E7->B. It nearly ruins a great tag.
@@Paul_K_ yeah...that never made much sense to me, and now with the context from this clip it makes even less XD
Hey Tim, do you happen to add in the overtones in post?
It seems like I shouldn't be able to hear them naturally---if each part was recorded on an isolated track and I'm listening to this using headphones. But I'm also no physicist lol.
I have a physics degree and did my undergraduate thesis on musical acoustics. The barbershop "overtone" phenomenon is not a component of the sound that is added from environmental resonance, so it's not unusual that they are present even in studio recordings played through headphones. The illusion of there being additional voices singing higher notes is just that-an illusion. It comes from your brain, rather than being actually present in the sound wave that reaches your ears. When voices harmonize, the higher harmonics overlap in a way that doesn't typically happen when your brain hears multiple voices, say, talking. Those loud reinforced harmonics then confuse the "how many people are vocalizing?" part of your brain-it jumps to assuming there are lots more people singing those higher pitches, rather than there being fewer voices that are in perfect harmony.
@Paul_K_ Thank you so much. That clears up a lot. And not that it matters, but in my original draft of this question, I actually tagged the end with, "Or is it just an illusion?"---in what I thought was a complete throwaway. 😂
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm heading out to go scold each of my K-12 choir instructors for not having physics degrees, lol.
@@brentbarrus9754 it *does* still make sense that overtones happen more readily watching a live performance and more rarely listening to a studio recording through headphones. The clearer you can hear the voices, the less easily your brain gets confused about how many there are.
Are you paying the arranger on a per view basis?
This year for Christmas I just want to be loved the way Niko

Day 17 of requesting Tim to sing Til the Sunshine’s Nellie by Paul Keller
POST for days...
I can only imagine the amount of time and effort you've put into sounding like an angel! Listening to your singing is almost hypnotising
