Things I didn't know that I needed to see 15 minutes ago: Arne's fabulous new sunglasses Arne's giant platform shoes Pictures of Arne in the 80's Carlos's reactions to all the above
You both add a ray of sunshine to my day, once I saw Arnie pull out the tinsel and the look on Carlos face I was waiting for that's Hideous and out it came, oh my gosh too funny🤣
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at your house! Great sweater weather Love hearing from precious Freja. So ferocious protecting her family from those moose! ❤😘
Thank you for another fabulous podcast. Next Thursday is our Thanksgiving holiday in the U. S. One of the things I am so thankful for is that you two, along with Herlmer and Freya, are part of my life! Looking forward to the Advent podcasts!
Isn’t youth a wonderful free time Arne and Carlos you wear whatever you fancy and no problems - you don’t think too far in the future. I’m nearly 70 now and I often look back and laugh at myself. I love listening to you both and stitching my crossstitch - unfortunately I’m now pulling stitches out as I didn’t pay attention lol 😂. Another part of ageing 😂. Thank you so much for everything you both do for the crafting world 🥰.
It cracks me up when Freya barks at the moose. And she does what so many little dogs do - the little dogs always have one more bark after being told hush.
Caught a cold and hurt my rib..was feeling down and realized that you two had another video up!! I feel FABULOUS NOW! Laughed and even teamed up when You, Carlos, commented about Arne being not boring but fun and fabulous. The love and kindness is always present in all your presentations. Our world needs more Carlos and Arnes ! 💖
I noticed last episode when you were making the hangers, that the colors were rich and vivid, very pleasing, and it was because you weren't backlit. View is lovely but the warm vivid colors were mesmerizing also, very nice.
What a lovely afternoon. I’ve been sitting knitting socks that will be Christmas gifts and listening to you two chatter away. I have candles lit and the sky is dark now. It’s very cosy here in the North of England. I am delighted that you agree that Advent starts on Sunday 28th and not 1st December. Until next week….
I loved learning more about Norwegian life. Like England, small village post offices are a thing of the past. I think we’re headed that way too here in the USA. Started the overwhelming job of cleaning out my basement and kept thinking about Arne. Can’t imagine why! 🤔
Our dog also starts to bark when Freya does, and we have started to say moose moose 🤣 We live in Wales there are no moose, so I think we should say sheep, sheep. I love ABBA and I think I need the album now. Love your talks and your work ❤
I have such a good time, sitting and knitting my Christmas stocking while you gents talk about your lives in Norway. When Arne talked about his "fabulous" glasses, I pictured him getting out of the Beetle (or maybe a blinged-out fabulous Beetle) with a big gold chain, smiling with a gold tooth and wearing his fabulous glasses! I hope we get to see these fabulous glasses someday! Neither one of you should change--you're marvelous.
Enjoyable, as always! We always pack down the first couple of snows before plowing, otherwise the gravel ends up being removed and it's a pain to fix it in the Spring. My dog, Bailey, knows when your music starts that there will soon be some barking, so she comes running into the room to wait for it, and of course she has to bark back! I laughed when Arne randomly announced that another box was on the way...Carlos's expression was priceless. Have a good weekend!
Carlos' face as Arne dangles the tinsel in front of him with great enthusiasm 🤣 I see my husband's and my personality differences in you two it makes me laugh so much.
Happy Thanksgiving from the USA! Please, please, please don't end your weekly Sit and Knit for a Bit podcasts! While I love seeing your knitting, crocheting and embroidery projects, my FAVORITE part of the podcasts is learning about Norway and Sweden. Each of you share the traditions of your childhoods which stories. And I love your discussions of your daily lives - the dogs, the VW, gardens, cooking, remodeling projects, UFO's, cleaning out the upstairs room and on and on. One of my favorite episodes this year was the hike up the mountains. Arne, your genealogy stories are fascinating. I'm from Utah and a church member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormon). My mother was a wonderful genealogist. But it's my husband that spends hours each week - he has over 50,000 names in his database. My interests are the journals and family stories. Arne & Carlos, you are masters at storytelling! Bye
How I laughed at the sunglasses comment "I want something big and fabulous!" and the look on Carlos' face when he saw the glitter yarn/tinsel. Dare we ask how much glitter yarn/tinsel Arne has stashed away? Arne quotes on merchandise would be fabulous. My favourite quote from last week's episode was "Everything goes with champagne" which I would wear on a T-shirt for sure. Or perhaps quotes knitted or embroidered on cushions? Hmm... when it comes to cushions I want something big and fabulous too!
Arne, you had been so busy!!!! I love the pillowcases. With the red back. They look beautyful!! I must repeat, how lovely you are as a couple. I like to listen to you both. We have ABBA GOLD with all the old songs, we love it. We listen ABBA since the 80s.
Gentlemen, I was traveling during September, so this past week I finally binge-watched your Setesdal series. So fascinating!! Now I want to go there, too!
Your videos really helped me during the pandemic, but I have been watching you guys since way before that! I just adore your home, garden, and lake! Where we live in upstate New York, off of Lake Ontario, there is also a lot of snow. A LOT. Sometimes we get snowed in, and it takes hours to shovel. Everyone knows how important snow blowers are, especially when you NEED to get out to go to work, school, or to the doctor's. So in the fall, everyone around here has to invest in either snow blowers or they pay to have their driveways plowed, and we have special tools for cleaning off the cars and antifreeze by the gallon to de-ice our vehicle's windshields. We have special ice melt we buy by the bag, that we spread along our front doors, sidewalks, and around the cars. We have a whole fleet of snow plows that keep the roads relatively clear, that also spread sand and salt along the roads behind them. There are times when we have crews come in with large dump trucks that have to come along the village streets, that work with bulldozers and plows, to get the top three or more feet of snow off of the top of the piles that accumulate along our streets and driveways. It's dangerous if people try to walk into the streets, from parking lots or their own driveways, and drivers don't see them until it's too late. There are Amish families around us who drive (their horse buggies) into town sometimes and the young men offer to shovel driveways, sidewalks, or shovel the foot or two (or three +) feet of snow that can start to accumulate on people's roofs. My suggestion, after working at a Home Depot service desk for several years: DON'T let your snow blower get out of condition. Have it taken care of by someone who knows a lot about small engines, blades, etc, EVERY spring. Take care of the oil, get the blades sharpened and oiled, and do not let water condensate in the fuel tank! Then when it comes time to fill it up with gas, or you have a few feet of freshly fallen snow, you will have no problems starting it up again. I would suggest finding a person who could do this for you every year. It would save a lot of stress and even heartache. Also, if you use your snow blower when the snow is still falling, before it starts to get 2 or 3 feet deep, and it gets very heavy and wet, it will be very easy to use. It's kind of fun, to be honest, if you have warm hats and gloves, warm wool socks and really good boots!!! You will see men in their driveways (during December, January, and February) who usually start snow blowing as soon as they see the first flakes because they understand it's better to get a jump on it before it gets out of hand! And please, NEVER try to get the blades to start turning by sticking a crowbar or other tool between the blades, if there's something stuck in the blades. Turn it off first!!! Trust me. Then when you're done, you can shovel if you like. And you can come inside and get a warm cup of cocoa, chai tea, or coffee, and it's very hygge.
I love that Arne is finishing someone else’s starts, and his creative touches. But I’m with Arles on the tinsel - no thanks! You’re very engaging to watch, and I find myself smiling at you or nodding in agreement, or otherwise interacting from afar (Tucson, Arizona). ❤️
Love your vlogs and videos, just like those of Kate (Last homely house )and Andrea and Madelyn (Fruity Knitting), it gives such nice cosy peaceful moments. Thank you for that. Love, Anneke
You two are just a joy to watch. So nice to listen to your life, and watch you interact with each other with kindness. I would love to hear more about your early careers. Also, love hearing about your holiday traditions.
Thank you again for another fabulous episode. I also feel so uplifted when I listen to you both. Your channel is very special. Looking forward to many more Sit and Knits.
Beautiful scene outside your window! I love how Carlos is so endearing with Arne, telling him he is not stupid and don't change. Arne I would love to see pictures of you in your fashion clothes of the 80's. It was a crazy weird time for fashion. You are both so special and I just love your podcasts. How do I get on the cruise waiting list. I am on the email list. Until next time!
As soon as you said “snowblower” I told my husband and he made sure ours still runs and is nearby. We get plenty of ❄️ in Ohio! I discovered an ABBA song I hadn’t heard before...Angeleyes. Great melody. And I’ve got my pattern, yarn, and wool stuffing ready for the next lesson! 👏
I was at the Zoom event at Wool & Co., and happened to be sitting behind the woman who sent the sweater to you. It is indeed beautiful! That was such a wonderful event with you two and Rowan. I bought yarn to make the Solveig hat and am so happy with it.
The first time I watched the Advanced Style Documentary I wanted to start creating something fabulous. But, like you I live rurally, and wearing something like that to the grocery store, or the farmers market would cause nasty looks. I think Iris Apfel is incredible. Now there are some fabulous glasses. Thanks for today's Sit and Knit. I was so glad that today was Wednesday.
My dog also starts to bark when Frey’s does. How cute!!! I can’t thank you enough for sharing your wonderful talents. I’m super excited about the matching Christmas balls and advent sweaters. I received my Rowan yarn yesterday!!! It’s gorgeous!!!! I’m so excited to start. I’m also in ownership of the prym icord machine. I thought it would be fabulous for my granddaughter and I to begin knitting project. Thank you for sharing these items with us. Good luck on your doctor visit!
I loved watching how th scenery changed over the 15 minutes of Sit and Knit. The trees went from grey white to greens and the lake from white to shades of ice blue. It was a great reminder to go back to the Sweater ornaments Future pod casts sound like fun is in our future. Our Opticians are working to rule; young children and those over 65 yrs can only be assessed for retina changes and eye pressure the actual exams are not available. The government is has not changed the payment for exams for 40 yrs. luckily I have no changes. I feel badly for people who need a new prescription. Our wardrobes have changed so much due to staying home so long. Thank goodness for sweaters and shawls
Yes I agree ! If you like your spectacles you only need to change lenses! Yes both of you keep fun and fabulous because it’s exactly how you are ! Love it! Xx 😘
The sunshine on the snowy trees across the lake is stunning! But it did cause some lighting issues. It’s okay, you both still looked fabulous. 😀 “there is no Christmas without balls”. Amen to that!😎. I can’t wait to do a garland of jumpers and balls. ❤️ from 🇨🇦
I have not been watching you all because I have been gardening, but now the plants and lawn don't need to be watered every day, the weather is in the 70's and I am starting to knit again. I decided to make a scarf for my son, who moved away from us in central California all the way across the country to Delaware. I am using the three balls of jade green yarn I bought in a second hand store last year. I took a peek at the Rowan yarns you show and, in looking at the labels, saw one that was felted tweed, 50% wool, 25% viscose, and 25% alpaca? I compared it to what I am using right now, and it is the same! Wow!. I am knitting with a Rowan yarn. It has a nice feel and does not fight. Because I probably don't have enough yarn, I am inserting a pattern of sheep close to the ends of the scarf. I am also knitting two pieces and will join them, to be able to make the scarf as long as possible with every last bit of the yarn.
The book about older people dressing fabulously, is that “advanced style“? Thanks for everything you‘re sharing, I just love to hang out with you. It’s so relaxing 😌
It was fun watching the look on your face , Carlos, when Arne was showing the yarn ‘tinsel’ 😄 I really like the mandril design, it makes me want to take up tapestry again but I have too many UFO’s! I hope you come back with some fabulous and eccentric glasses to wear (I am inspired by the outfits on Advanced Style too). Be well, Sally 🌹
I have so much Christmas knitting I have been avoiding, but then there was this great balaclava designed by a couple of Norwegian knitters that I just HAVE to knit for myself....
Your tapestry pieces are lovely Arne! I especially like the argyle background with the cats, and the hound's-tooth background with the flowers! I've just discovered you and Carlos and I spend time with you every day. Love to your puppies!
😅😅😅 I can't hold my breath. Arne, you are shoveling up all the garlands in front of Carlos' nose and Carlos you have this "thriftstore-excitement-smile" on your face: "Yes". 😅😅
Well, that was fun and FABULOUS - I think you both are fun and fabulous (although, Carlos, it was incredibly sweet when you told Arne he isn't boring and is fun and fabulous)! Arne, you have a beautiful laugh and Carlos, don't change your everyday glasses I love them on you... I also love your everyday glasses Arne so I think all you need is your amazingly stylish and FABULOUS sunglasses! Hugs, stay safe and be well 💖💖💖
I purchased your new Christmas ball patterns a week ago and am so excited to start them!!! Can’t wait for the daily podcasts!!! I REALLY love this set! May this holiday season bring you both infinite joy and blessings!!!
Lazy is hardly the way I would describe you two!!! Those jackets sound complicated . . . I would have let them slip to the background too!! 😉. Thanks for another great podcast!!!
I was in that Chicago zoom call & near the lady who offered to send you the Norwegian sweater! How lovely to see you got it! I just received my Norwegian wool for my Christmas stocking in the mail! Yay!
Thank you for another splendid show. Made me laugh so often ... that look Carlos gave directly into the camera when the tinsel came out. Hahaha! Love it. Please show us how you use the snow blower! We would love to see it. 😊😊💙💙 XXXX
Is it possible for Arne to become even more fabulous?? lol!! 😂 I really like the kitty needlepoint, it's turning out so well. The bright background is quite nice.
Here's another reason to continue Sit and Knit for a Bit every week. Arne, your English has improved so much! In the early videos, you searched for words. And now you're completely fluent!
Carlos, you are not lazy. I think if I am remembering correctly you were still feeling yucky and were resting and trying to recuperate from Covid. Then when you started feeling better it was summer and you probably had outside things to do. You will get your jacket done.
Enjoy all you videos and everything you talk about.. You bring smiles and laughter. God bless you both and keep you safe and well. Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday. Enjoy the day
Lovely episode! Arne, you made me laugh outloud with your garland again. It always makes me chuckle when Carlos just hates it and you love it so! You both are so charming! All the best to you both!
I just about managed to knit one of your Mini Christmas Balls while watching this episode. If it was the regular 15 minutes and not 13 minutes I would have completed it! Can’t wait to see Arne’s fabulous new sunglasses!
Snow for you, spring weather for us in New Jersey USA. Crazy!!!! Yes, used to your dogs. Not annoying to me. I remember working in high school around 1975 or 1976 and the supermarket always played Fernando” on the overhead speakers. ABBA was the top selling pop band on AM radio. Yeah, I’m that old!
Sometimes I marvel by how very different you two are and yet how much you love, admire and respect one another. Other times you just make me laugh at it. Thanks for the quick 15 minutes today - maybe 13? - I got my next hat cast on and the first 96 stitches knit. Awesome.
I first learned about Norwegian wool from a recent YarnYay (Vickie Howell in the US)subscription box...it is lovely...the project was a cowl in Daphne and Cappucino...such beautiful colors! Lovely yarn! Can't wait for the Setesdal hat knit-a-long! My bundle is on the way! It will be a challenge for me for sure!
I can relate to the eyewear dilemma of which frames choose and type to get next. I have multi focal’s with prism lenses, reading/computer glasses plus special contacts for when I go swimming. I need some prescription lense sunglasses and my optician is going to “mend” some old frames for gardening. It all been put on hold due to Covid but now I can get them made. Choosing frames is the most difficult for me as it is something you wear everyday. I need to really love them. It’s also expensive! … Enjoy making your folk costume jackets. I know you want it to be perfect - as it is a traditional costume - but try not to worry if there is a mistake. The imperfections in a hand made item give the uniqueness and character that truly expresses who you are and the hand of the maker. I’d love to see Arne’s shoes and Carlos’s jacket too! Excited about the prospect on Annemor being on the show again and attending your cruises. Not sure if I’ll ever get to go on one of your cruises but I do hope they can happen sooner rather than later for everyone 🙂
37:03 If I may, if you're planning on not doing the next step right away, marking the allowance with thread might be better since chalk can rub off. You can use a long stitch length so the thread is easier to pull out once you're done. Hope that helps a little
I love Carlos saying "You're not boring, I think you are fun and fabulous - don't change." ♥
😊
So beautiful
Things I didn't know that I needed to see 15 minutes ago:
Arne's fabulous new sunglasses
Arne's giant platform shoes
Pictures of Arne in the 80's
Carlos's reactions to all the above
Let's not forget Carlos' Jacket from 2017.
Yes to all of these!!!
Yeah I'm thinking we need to see some old photo albums of the boys!
You are both so very sweet and kind, I feel very uplifted to listening to your chats. Thank you for sharing 🙏🏼💫❣️
Wow, I think it‘s very courageous to take on that highly tailored folk costume as a sewing project. Impressed.
You both add a ray of sunshine to my day, once I saw Arnie pull out the tinsel and the look on Carlos face I was waiting for that's Hideous and out it came, oh my gosh too funny🤣
I loved Carlos’ expression and tone of voice when the pink glitter yarn was produced! X
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at your house! Great sweater weather

This is so true! I though my dog was the only one to do that! :)
I asked myself recently “Am I an Arne or am I a Carlos?” After the discussion about the tinsel garlands I now know I am definitely an Arne.
Oh I like that thought!
😂
I am more like Carlos in that too much stuff makes me anxious. They are both fabulous in different ways.
Oh I got such a laugh, my Hubby's Carlos and I'm Arnie can never hv Enough!! 😊

@@Stettafire I’m from Wales too.😊 So hello all. I don’t have a dog tho’. I guess we’re all loving Arne & Carlos!🥰
Janet, we live in Germany, but "moose, moose", is our joke regularly. 😍😍 I think, with all Arne&Carlos fans its an expression.
😀😀😀😀
I live in Wales too. I have a dog but he's too deaf to hear Freya. We love Arne and Carlos 😍
@@willow9526 hi I love them 💓

Arne and Carlos this was a great vlog. The candles and scenery out your window were perfect. Was fun hearing Freya and Helmer, please pet them for me.
The joy you guys find in life is infectious.. Your chats I find relaxing and they really give me a lift. I wish you could podcast everyday. lol.
Looking forward to seeing you both looking fabulous after the opticians.

Our wardrobes have changed so much due to staying home so long. Thank goodness for sweaters and shawls
Yes I agree ! If you like your spectacles you only need to change lenses! Yes both of you keep fun and fabulous because it’s exactly how you are ! Love it! Xx 😘
I would've loved to do that with mine, had the lenses not be knackered. Thank you for the reminder though, I do need to go get new glasses :)
👓
Thanks for another great episode! I hope Arne shows his new fabulous sunglasses when he gets them! I think you both are fabulous!
The sunshine on the snowy trees across the lake is stunning! But it did cause some lighting issues. It’s okay, you both still looked fabulous. 😀
“there is no Christmas without balls”. Amen to that!😎. I can’t wait to do a garland of jumpers and balls. ❤️ from 🇨🇦
O Alison, what a brilliant idea! I love it. I am going to think on that for a bit.🤭
“That’s hideous, come on.”
Best line of the day. 🤣
Or, perhaps
“This is not the dead lady’s work.”
Tough choice.
❤️
Yes, hilarious! Love it. 🐕🌲💕
Has Tinsel Gate 2021 begun? 😄
"I want something big and fabulous!" LOL. Arne quotes would be great on merchandise.
@@JaneDawsonWiley I agree with you 100%. This is a great idea for Arne and Carlos.
I like the concept of the one stop shopping place- a supermarket where you can get your mail too!
Arne and Carlos, I smile and chuckle at you two... you are super troupers❤️🎉
Arne in particular was in fine form today. Thank you both for the entertainment.
And yes I too am looking forward to Tinselgate lol
fun & fabulous, absolutely!!! would love to see Arne's shoes & Carlos' jacket 💞
Thank you!
Fabulous has no age limit, and vintage is the best!
Well said!
"I'm going from boring to fabulous" with your BIG sunglasses. I love it!
Your show today has been very relaxing, I enjoyed my time with you both stitching birthday gifts for family. Life is good!
I have so much Christmas knitting I have been avoiding, but then there was this great balaclava designed by a couple of Norwegian knitters that I just HAVE to knit for myself....
Carlos's sweater is great! Thank you both for sharing your stories!
I think you are both fabulous. Clothes and style are fabulous but your personalities and exchanges are what is really fabulous.
Thank you!
I love Sit and Knit. I watch it on the Smart TV while I knit.
Thank you for listening!
I love, love the cat embroidery. Arne you are super talented.
Thank you!
You guys are to funny 😎 I laughed out loud when Arne said he was going to get fabulous sun glasses. 😄
Your tapestry pieces are lovely Arne! I especially like the argyle background with the cats, and the hound's-tooth background with the flowers! I've just discovered you and Carlos and I spend time with you every day. Love to your puppies!
Another uplifting episode. Thank you. I think that you are both fabulous.
Give a thumbs up to this comment if you agree that it isn’t possible for Arne to become more fabulous👍🏽. He is maximum fabulous now 🤷🏻♀️
I feel as though I just had a very pleasant visit with some good friends.... oh wait! I did! Thank you Arne and Carlos!
Thank you for coming over MaryAnn!
😅😅😅 I can't hold my breath. Arne, you are shoveling up all the garlands in front of Carlos' nose and Carlos you have this "thriftstore-excitement-smile" on your face: "Yes". 😅😅
Hahaha. You describe them perfectly.
When our dogs would bark at "nothing," my dad always said it was the wind in their ears!
This is always one of the highlights of my week. Thankyou for brightening the day! Take care.
Looking forward to see Arne's fashion shoes and sun glasses.
The snowy background makes me happy ☺️ As does the new stocking.
I like to hear and see the dogs, not irritating to me.🐕🍁🥰Ingrid
The snow has come to stay -- already! Wow. And please -- I want to see the fabulous shoes!! Thanks as always!
😊😊💙💙 XXXX
I loved hearing you chat about the new Abba album. I adore Abba and I’m loving the new album 💿
Is it possible for Arne to become even more fabulous?? lol!! 😂 I really like the kitty needlepoint, it's turning out so well. The bright background is quite nice.
Great episode 😀. Love Arne's 80's fashion style. 🥰. ❤ it all. Thanks!
Here's another reason to continue Sit and Knit for a Bit every week. Arne, your English has improved so much! In the early videos, you searched for words. And now you're completely fluent!
That is a good point Kathleen!
Carlos, you are not lazy. I think if I am remembering correctly you were still feeling yucky and were resting and trying to recuperate from Covid. Then when you started feeling better it was summer and you probably had outside things to do. You will get your jacket done.
Love your chats so much. Thanks
🤗 Enjoyed the visit, thanks guys!
We are all that old!
Sometimes I marvel by how very different you two are and yet how much you love, admire and respect one another. Other times you just make me laugh at it. Thanks for the quick 15 minutes today - maybe 13? - I got my next hat cast on and the first 96 stitches knit. Awesome.
It’s a new Christmas, new balls! 🤣 I love it! Your window view is breathtaking. Thanks for sharing it with us today. ❤️
Thank you for watching today!
Arne your needle point projects are excellent! ~
Thank you!
Thank you once again for this podcast guys. I’m slowly working my way through stuff that I have missed. 😊
We are glad you liked it
@@ARNECARLOS I enjoy all of your podcasts. 😊
Very enjoyable and entertaining. Thank you again!
37:03 If I may, if you're planning on not doing the next step right away, marking the allowance with thread might be better since chalk can rub off. You can use a long stitch length so the thread is easier to pull out once you're done. Hope that helps a little
