I have a groundhog family that had babies that stayed this year. I feed them every day and it’s at the point now where my wife even gets guilted into putting out food haha. I didn’t get out early yesterday and the one I named Moe came out to find nothing, and stared into the kitchen window at my wife until she felt guilty and brought out some banana and carrots for him. The smart one knows when he hears the hitches door creek that I’m bringing food, and will stare at the house when nothing is out there for him. They are literally the highlight of my day, although my wife is due with our first child on the first week of January, so I’m trying to have the last peaceful mornings for a long time now, spent drinking coffee and watching my friends chomp down on their veggies
I love how the later in the year and the more fatness chunk amasses, it allows him to use his own rotundity as a built-in bean bag that he plops down on whenever he feels like it

Sorry, but Chunk is a Groundhog. Chipmunk's are much smaller and have 2 black, gold and bronze stripes that run parallel down it's back on either side of it spine. Sorry to burst your bubble but Chunk is definitely a fully grown Groundhog. ✌💞🐾🍎👍
