- On 4 September 2023, after many years of sailing on the West Coast of Scotland, we were now liveaboards on our Island Packet 420 as we set out on a journey from Oban, Scotland which we hoped would take us across the Atlantic Ocean to the Carribean and beyond.
Inspirational guys. Retirement plan in action.
New follower here, about to embark on similar route from up north to down south of the uk, just as soon as renovations are done and we splash……looking forward to following.
Bon voyage!
Hi, just found your channel and it's fantastic , thank you, just going to watch episode 2
Hope you enjoy!
Great to see another sailing channel and a Christian one at that! What a wonderful way to retire after “full time ministry” As ex Brethren I might be the only viewer that understands that terminology ! A refreshing outlook that no other channel has being able to mix your sailing life and sharing the Gospel at the same time Keep it up
Blessings Nick from NZ
Thank you Nick - we have wrestled with the balance and decided that we should just be ourselves and share our story as we go along.
Fair winds guys, good to find another channel to follow. Beautiful boat.
Thank you, you too!
Excited with your new channel and looking forward to be following you along on your adventures. Best regards and fair winds from Denmark
Thank you, you too! ⛵
Nice video! Greetings from Canada 🍁
Hey, thanks! If we manage to become ocean sailors we hope to visit ...
Just came across your channel...New follower here. Looking forward to following your sail to the Caribbean 👍
Thank you for following. Hope you enjoy!
Though already viewed earlier, this revisit makes 2,332; and the 66th LIKE is posted due to the common faith we share;
which convinced me also to decide to become your 134th subscriber.
I'm quite new to this RUclipsr stuff, too; but have been following several sailing channels for a few seasons. Cheers! from a new tag-along-from-my-desktop.
Thanks Peter!
Nice video good content the only 1 thing i could say was a put off was the loudness of the music i had to keep turning the volume down for the music then back up after the music. Otherwise good video i enjoyed it keep safe 👍
Thanks for the comment - we do need to work at that.
Hi. Here's my advice as a RUclips and social media professional. 1. Speed things up. 2. Try not to give away endings or future events, build those into the narrative. You know what happens en route, but you didn't even you left Oban so why should we know? Remember why your audience is watching, it's for the boat and sailing but five minutes in and we didn't even know if you had a cat or monohull. The key to a successful channel is in the storytelling! Good luck!
Thank you Adam, your comments are much appreciated and we will take note going forward.
Enjoyong your journey, safe travels, is the yacht an Island Packet?
Yes, an Island Packet 420. Great boat!
Good luck on your voyage...what maker/model of boat do you have?
An Island Packet 420.
May the Strength of God pilot you
May the Power of God preserve you
May the Wisdom of God instruct you
May the Hand of God protect you
May the Way of God direct you
May the Shield of God defend you
May the Host of God guard you
Johan, The Netherlands
Thank you so much Johan.
Don't bother about the sea sickness, Ive sailed with some serious Ocean racing crew and many of them accept the first few days as wasted..
I'll be interested to follow your progress and as a heathen Id suggest far more reliance on good seamanship and practicality,,
far less on divine intervention.. Don't forget that JC was only a carpenter (apparently) , so of limited assistance in mid Atlantic
Fair winds & Bon Voyage
Thank you! Don't worry JC also expects us to be responsible in what we do with our lives, so totally agree about the need for seamanship. Hopefully that's what we are learning too.
I cannot hardly hear u talking for ur background music
We need to work more on that. Still novices really, so thank you for your comment.
I'd be happier with less of the loud music.
Yes Charles, several have commented about that and we will aim to do better. Thanks for commenting.
I lost interest & stopped watching when religion was mentioned - what a shame !!
Please don't let our core beliefs put you off John. You can always fast forward when it happens??? :)
