In my country, they have fiber, but they limit the max speed of normal clients... Only government facilities, other than the schools, get the full speed service.

There was that time when an ex-minister of communication and informatics of Indonesia asked the people, "what do you need fast internet for?" And the average internet speed at that time was only 1-5Mbps (not BYTES, bits.)
Fortunately the internet situation has improved quite drastically since then.

I had 1mbps up until 2021 and then upgraded to fiber after moving. The first thing I did was install a bunch of games. Went from taking literally all day or more to download a single game to being able to download any 80gb+ game in like 10 minutes. I don't think I could go back again...
On fibe I still need a whole day to download a game as big as that. Simply due to the fact my internet can only reach 60mb at max and once I start downloading something big it cuts it in half

At the size of that game, that's like a 150mbs connection. Pretty fast, sure but a lot of people have gigabit nowadays.
how did you work out the math? on steam, panicore demo is approx 4.8GB = 38.4Gb (1 byte = 8 bits). divide that by 15s and you get 2.56Gbps. Assuming a slight exaggeration, that number would be closer to 2.38Gbps, which is the maximum actual download speed you can see on a 2.5Gb ethernet port after accounting for overhead. Im pretty sure Kronii has at least a 3Gbps connection from Telus (assuming west coast Canada). I have a 3Gbps connection and tried the download but it seems like Bell or steam servers in my area are limiting the download speeds to around 600Mbps, even though i can get speedtests with 3.2Gbps up and down. Download took just over 50s for me.

So it appears us south asians share the same pain as the south east when it comes to internet
TFW our city has 1Gbps fiber... But just not in my old-ass brick house made in 50s or 60s. I kept asking directly, but... nope. "Population of your house is too old," they said.
Meanwhile last year my apartment block's housing association carried out the property mid-life piping refurbishment (the area was built towards the tail end of the 60s-70s rural flight) and on the side had the old dial-up phone cables ripped out and replaced with fiberoptics, alongside sundry other modernizations.
I suppose it doesn't hurt that the old folks in the district, often first-gen residents, in general are nodding off or moving to retirement homes and younger generations, often couples with small children, moving in - Hell I bought my small flat from the heirs of some old lady who'd recently been carted off to senior care. They pretty clearly had no use for it and just wanted to get it off their hands.

1.5 Gigabit ethernet speeds at the price of like $100+ a month. The issue becomes whether you as an individual uses that much bandwidth, it's mostly due to a family network that you need a higher downstream and upstream.
Do know that more devices that uploads, the more of the total bandwidth is used.
1 plan of 1500↓ and 50↑, if a pc uses 700↓ and 10↑...
That's 45% download and 20% upload, so 65% of bandwidth used up for one pc.
Remember you can't do 100% download speed and 100% upload speeds at the same time.

danm Indonesian internet must be really bad here in Canada we pretend to have many different providers but we only have 2 and they share the same danm cables. the best you can hope for in games is around 50ish ping, avg of around 65, and lucky to get lower then 70 between 6pm-9pm it's decent internet but it's definitely not fast. This mistake brought to you by the Government of Canada when they gave full monopoly to Rogers and Bell.

Eh major cities have fiber so if you're middle class and up you're probably on 250mb to 1gb speeds. If you're frugal, probably 25 to 100mb speeds.

Those are different things. Download speed is different from ping. Download speed is how much you download in a given timeframe (kaela’s issue) and ping is how long it takes for data to travel from one server to another (what you feel in online games) The first is affected by your internet’s bandwidth and the latter is affected by proximity between servers.
