Hey Phil, you taught me how buffs expel unwanted particles. Now, all of my hair rigs are only 6-7" and I never have that problem of catching them in the gill plate. Nice video buddy!!

Nice, I caught me at 25 lb grass carp on Thanksgiving except the guy who helped me catch it didn't realize how big the fish was and he just tried to lift it directly out of the water and he bent my net lol hook didn't even bigger one earlier than that but after I was done tiring it out about to bring it in he swam around a rope to a floating alligator toy in the pond and that nylon line just cut right into it and he eventually broke off after me trying to get him untangled

Geeez, that sounds like an ordeal 😂
I’ve lost a few big ones myself, mostly from the drag being too tight and it snaps the line.

I've been a few times. It's hard fishing for some reason, especially Lady Bird Lake. But I've seen videos and pictures of absolute monsters.

@@BitesandStrikesFishingdude I caught a common carp over 40lbs and 32 inches long from ladybird. Known for its trophy carp, you can’t keep them though unless they’re over 33inches. I fish the Colorado river a lot here in Austin area.

Hey! Been watching for a little while now and love the gar videos. Maybe I missed something but have you ever considered a Patreon where you could share exclusive videos, posts and maybe a couple spots, similar to what wildlife provides. I enjoy gar fishing but haven’t caught one after many tries and living in AZ makes it that much more challenging and expensive. Totally understand if that doesn’t interest you but I think it would benefit you and your fans especially the ones who watch consistently. Sorry for long post lol thank you!

Thanks for watching, I appreciate the support. I currently don’t have a Patreon but I have considered doing a RUclips membership but I haven’t pulled the trigger on it yet

Fishing in the cold? Bud Ohio has 6+ inches of ice. I'm old and have grown to hate the cold.

I have family in Canada that say the same thing. But down here in Texas we only dig below freezing for one or two days a year

This guys definition of cold is a mild 67 degree day lmao

In Texas, we get below freezing for about 12 hours a year, so anything under 70 degrees is cold to us. But it needs to be above 100 degrees for us to consider it hot, 99 and below is just warm
