Most people are usually surprised that I do boxing as an Orthodox Jew, and I always say that as a man you need to feel your knuckles scraped ones in a while. With antisemitism on the rise it is paramount to teach our young men to defend not just themselves but also their families.
I am Christian. I'm a black belt. The next level is 2 layers of wood, and after 3 layers, and so on. And that's how you end up being a karateka with a black belt. And not kidding. Another perspective is you've trained hard for it, you train harder every day for challenges and you believe you can overcome them, but never tried 5 layers, so you put your faith only in your powers? As a Christian, I say it is a 20%-80% relation, 20% my sweat, and 80% God's will.
