Wow! Great analogy! Thanks so much for clearing that up.....I have seen several tutorials where all that is used is glue, but I honestly thought they just didn't want to mess w nails and such. Thanks again for helping me understand. Now if I could just find some 1/8" ply! :)
Thank you!
Cool snare tension system. I'm making and modding cajons over on my channel and have to try your setup some day. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you. This video helped me fix my cajon
Great video, thanks much
Brilliant!
I especially like using the turn buckle to adjust the snare.
! Gracias.
I like that!
yes that will be strong enough. You can glue a small strip of wood purely for safety in the corners. I weigh over 100 kg and I can sit on the cajon.
Very stable.
Well....... How does it sound ?!
Great ! I wonder why you gave that strange shape for the hole in the backplate ?
Does it modify the sound ? how ?
Thus, the cajon has a good sound is the main frame has only been glued. With white wood glue. No screws and no nails. The back plate provides stability 5mm. The main frame is composed of simple rectangles. You do not need special tools.
Keren zz
hey i was just wondering if you would be able glue the "holders" in instead of screwing them??????
good
Xou amigo.
so we dont get to hear it or see it work?
The cajon is an acoustic instrument. So that the sound is clean all surfaces to be glued. Except for the front panel. This is with many small screw mounted. A guitar or a violin would not mount with screws and nails.
with no special joint? and one last thing what is the height, width and depth(front to back) of your whole cajon?
clever
What kind of wood are you using? Can you use pine if you use plywood for the front?
Great video btw.
Baru Tau saya , cara memasang snare di cajon
Itu membuatku sangat bahagia
how did u attach the main frame together, i dont have equipment to do a rabbet joint and don't feel like a simple glue and nail will be strong enough, did u nail or did u screw it together, thank you
I used plywood because it is the easiest and cheapest matrial for me.
do you have the opportunity to buy boards from 30x40 cm pine are very straight?
I have no experience with it but you can test it easily.
Vayri good
Xou. Onde comprar essa esteirinha??
Ok. Potential dumb question..... How does the absence of nails or screws improve the sound? Maybe you just meant it wasn't necessary? idk. Thanks for posting these vids! They really help. :)
Kreatif
In Mexico was developed a Cajon independently of the peruvian cajon. It is called "Cajon de Tapeo".www.quazoo.com/q/Caj%C3%B3n%20de%20tapeo
Awesome, I get a question: Whats the name of the song on the background?

Thanks a lot.
What the material about this video ?.
Wow
😍😍😍
Keren boy
I don't understand what do you mean?
Great job man!!! Is it a rope or an elastic assembled in the wood bar (0:26)?
it is a rope, no elastic part.
so if i just use wood glue and stick the top on the sides, it will be strong enough?
Yes, I have one that is put together only using butt joints with wood glue, and it is still fine 10 years later. Many people well over 200 lbs have played it with no problems, so no worries.
where do you find the snare parts? or could you potentially just make it with some wire
BUILD SNARE CAJON DRUM - HOMEMAD CAJON TUTORIAL

How did ypu cut the snare strings?
with a pair of pliers. side cutters or tin snips
Wanna support from u
ok
where do i get the snare
buy a regular replacement snare (for a snare drum) from any music shop that sells percussion instruments.
just in case: that is a spanish cajón because it got metal pieces in it, the peruvian cajón is only the wood box and no more pieces.
How proses😬😬😬

Yikwanak Wewa my no comprende!! xd

What the hell.. how it works. ?
A rope is twisted around the wooden axis. We shorten the rope with the turnbuckle and the wooden axis rotates. With this we regulate the pressure of the snare. Please have a look at my other videos about cajon. That makes it easier.

Looking the whole video.. expecting how it sounds.. and just nothing. Just that horrible music
Rather than playing that stupid background music during the video, why didn’t you demo the sound??
I built the Cajon for my friend. I can't play myself. But the sound is comparable to the purchased cajons.
Lousy video, lousy system, sorry...
the video is very old, today I would do it better. But the system is ok and has helped many people. Lousy is just your whim sorry...
good
