Sadie tends to chew up slippers and ball caps. I'm always concerned about her actually ingesting those items. I'm always making sure there is nothing laying around that she could ingest. Great video!
Yup! I have a naughty one here too! Charlie likes to try to eat stuffing from the stuffed animals...the moment I see them start to dig into the fluff..in the trash it goes..Or I defluff it!
at what age would you consider it pica vs just being a puppy? my 13week old picks up every stick, acorn, and digs up grass clumps (including the dirt) to try to eat every time she goes outside. we already ended up at the ER yesterday (thankfully no blockage, yet).
I would say a puppy doing that is just learning they learn through touch and taste, But you want to limit what they can and can't put in their mouth. Some puppy's will ingest something one time and that's that, they learned a lesson. But some continue on with the behavior. If it were my pup I would limit what it has access to, by leash walking now, because if you can teach them something is not good for them by redirection or removing the item, then do so! It will save a LOT of money down the road. What breed is your puppy?
I love Cattle Dogs! I know that they need jobs! So if you don't have Cattle for her to work, make sure you get her appropriate toys, and activities to keep her mind busy! A puzzle food bowl, or lick mats! Keep her mind so busy during the time you are able with her, tricks and fun stuff! Then she won't want to put other things in her mouth if her mind is busy! I hope that helps! if it doesn't stop make sure you address it with your vet, there are meds that can help!

Hey, my dog is whining super bad there is something wrong w her stomach I was wondering if u could video chat me. The girl in the woods mentioned you.
Hi Phil, I don't do video chats. I think if she is whining bad...she needs to be seen by a veterinary professional very soon!
