  • Part one of our Upper Missouri River National Monument Canoe Trip. This series covers the 149 miles of the Upper Missouri River Breaks National Monument. In this video we travel from Fort Benton, MT to Wood Bottom Boat Camp - River Miles 1 - 20.3. We encountered a lot during our first day - Wind, Rain, Sandbars and we also had a brief thunderstorm at camp that produced some pea size hail. The trip was awesome and if you would like an info on gear or planning, please feel free to contact me. Ive listed some links below.

Min 14:00 to 14:50 river left site of Ft Mackenzie. Major fort on the Missouri. Read about the big battle there in Prince Maximiilians Journals for the early 1800's.

Btw, could I contact you via email? I've got some questions. My email is "mark"."stamp" at "sjsu"."edu", without the quotes, and with "@" instead of " at "...

Hi Mary, I would say that the scenery in this short section is not as inspiring as say the white cliffs section but I loved every mile!
