This play was created and put on by three 14 year old Vincent Massey Students. It was a non-profit organization benefiting homeless teens and drop in centers in Calgary AB. Special thanks to all the parents including Nan Balkwell and Shamus Malloy.

I'm a horrible person and I so badly wanted to criticize this but... I have to stop and remind myself that this is most likely a middle school production. They don't have most professional equipment, such as what Man On The Internet had in their production. And really, this is a pretty good show for a limited middle school theatre budget.

In all honesty this is better than what the Man On The Internet did, for one it's actually a musical rather than just singing over soundtrack. Middle school theatre budget aside, you can't compare the production of a play with the production of a video.

hey gang, felt like now would be the best time for me to comment and claim my role as Papyrus!!! even after 4 or so years after we did this production, i'll never forget the nice comments saying how well I did that seriously boosted my very low confidence in middle school.

Instead, we did Mama Mia.

Yeah, they could have had the music not cut out. I feel so sorry for the kid. He was really given his all, but when that music cut out, yikes. The tempo of that song is not one that works without the backing track.
Despite the girl did what he could do, a better battle could be done if they use the white cloth and focus there the soul animation
Toriel coming in and yeeting Asgore near the end was a personal favourite of mine

For a middle school play production this is really good. I couldn't hear most of it but it's obvious a lot of heart and soul was poured into making this.

I love the people who played Sans and Papyrus
Finally watched this. I actually really enjoyed the production elements, the costume and sets were simple, but effective. The main issue I had with this was with the script. For one, it didn't have enough songs for a musical, though I enjoyed that they had a few original songs instead of just singing over the soundtrack for each one, and they were pretty decent. The larger problem was the plot made very little sense. It was hard to follow because there was too many little, disjoint scenes that went by too fast. The bad audio quality really didn't help, but even if it was fixed these problems would still remain. I noticed there was several lines from the original game that no longer made any sense because the plot points they were referred to were completely cut out. Finally, the overarching plot was quite weak, it's just a basic character motivation of trying to get home (and then deciding to stay in the underground anyway?) going through a bunch of random episodes when some theme about friendship and nonviolence tacked on. The main issue is that even unedited Undertale's plot doesn't make for a good linear narrative - it's strength relies on the fact it's a game. I think an effective adaption could be done, but it would be a very challenging feat, and these kids made a good attempt. At least they managed to make a musical with a plot, even if it was a weak one.
I mean for like a middle school, it was great obviously it could have been better but they nailed the basic cutout of an Undertale stageshow (that i would still love to see/be in one day;

This is actually kind of awesome! It may not be the same as MOTI's version, but this one is just as charming. I wish I could hear more of the dialogue though, I could tell there were some witty lines in there ;) I particularly loved Papyrus's improv. "Wait, wrong song! WRONG SONG!!!" XD
Of course, if I have to complain about one thing, it's the massive changes in the story. I can understand that you had to simplify the plot considering the budget of this play, but Mettaton being a girl and hooking up with Papyrus was... kind of a weird choice. I still thought the whole thing was pretty cool, and the extra bits of humor you added were really entertaining. It may not be the best production out there, but I can tell you all had a lot of fun doing this. ^_^
Yes, my favourite part was when I completely embarrassed myself by furiously whispering "where's my jacket" into my mic several times.

They should have changed the story more, what they had didn't make sense because they kept some parts that relied on other parts that they cut out. Mettaton's gender is completely irrelevant.

What a great job they did. The only thing I could say is that maybe the parte when Flowey tuns back into Asriel should have been a bit longer. Aside of that it was incredible.

The part where Toriel throws a fireball at Flowey could’ve been a bit better...
They could have rolled the ribbon into a ball and taped it. It would have looked like a fireball and the actor for Tori wouldn’t be hitting the actor for Flowey with the equivalent of a whip.

When I was younger, bout a few years younger, I always wanted Undertale to be a play. Now that I watched this. I can safely say my wish has come true! Thank you whoever had the amazing idea to do this! I hope people do it every year at this school so I can visit and watch in person!
P.S.: my favorite part was the temmie rap. I never expected they would do that with temmies! XD

I honestly can't say I liked it as much as I hoped. I tried looking at it not comparing it to Man On The Internet's version, but still. The dialogue is hard to hear, a lot of plot holes(Asreial breaking the barrier never mentioned, so the ending is weird), and some other small stuff. But I got to admit that the fact that everything from the props to the glow in the dark effects and the hilarious original puns and script are amazing. So it balances out. Again, just my opinion. If you love it or not, that's your opinion and I have my own.
Oh! And if you guys could... Could you do genocide run? (Flowey was here)

This video was posted so long ago that idk if anyone even checks the comments anymore, but I just wanted to say how much I appreciate this musical. It was done around the same time that I was an Undertale obsessed middle schooler. I remember watching it in 8th grade and being inspired to write my own Undertale musical. I can’t say I’ve given up on that dream, but I’m not actively pursuing it anymore lol. Still, years after I initially found this video, I find myself coming back to it. It’s like a time capsule that takes me back to being 12/13. If anybody out there still has the script, I’d love to be sent a link. Even after four years there are still words I can’t understand lol. Hope everyone involved in this production is doing well!
