Faheem bhai because of the track condition train travels at very low speed and as you have shown in this video that it takes 4 hours to reach Lahore from Sialkot whereas by road it takes 2 hours that's why most of the people prefer other means rather than train. Despite of the conditions I prefer rail as I love it's journey and it's also more convenient for me. Thanks for the video.
My Grandfather Akbar Shah Gillani used to run buses" Azad Jamu Kashmir Transport in 1967. His bus yard used to be right opposite the Sialkot Railway station. Still love every moment. Allah may him more and more.
As per 1945 Timetable that i have with me. All links to Jammu from Delhi and Punjab were via Lahore line. Maze ki baat yeh hai. From Lahore, four through coaches (1st class, 2nd class, Inter Class and Third class) would run attached on the Rawalpindi Express and 295/296 passenger to Jammu station via Wazirabad. Calcutta- Punjab Mail and Punjab Express trains from Calcutta would arrive into Lahore Jn station at 14-45 and 17-45 in the afternoon and evening time. These trains from Calcutta connected with Jammu coaches via Lahore Jn. 57/58 Bombay Express also connected Jammu coaches at Wazirabad Jn station. Raat ko Lahore station se reservation waale compartment per baetho aur tadke subah- subah Jammu. At 20-45 in the night, Jammu coaches departed Lahore Jn and arrived into Jammu station at 6 o'clock in the morning time. Wazirabad per layover hota tha 4-5 ghante ka. But passengers wouldn't have to change trains as they were through coaches running. In today's time Jammu station is connected by Delhi via Mukerian line. Jalandhar se line alag ho jaati hai Jammu jaane ke liye. New Delhi- Jammu line in today's time is one of the most profitable and high density traffic lines in IR.
Watched this video again. I remember Taseerabad and Allar were small operational railway stations when I was a child. I traveled from Sialkot to Lahore via train in my school/college days but the train went via Wazirabad. The one going via Narowal was considered very slow. Narowal was a Tehsil of District Sialkot at that time. Instead of restoring tracks and improving train service, they eliminate trains to cater corruption in railways and under pressure from transport mafia where many politicians are involved. It really hurts to see state of affairs in Pakistan. Inshallah next time I visit Pakistan, I will travel on this train from Sialkot to Lahore only to enjoy and refresh my memories. This is pure nostalgia.

My Father was a Station Master at Wazirabad Junction...after Track restoration this train can complete travel Sialkot to Lahore VIA Narowal 2 to 2.30 hours At Wazirabad Junction there is A place where SKT and LHE tracks enter ...at that point if Pakistan railway install a Curve then from SKT to LHE Via WZD travel time will be 2.15 to 2.30hours safe and Fast .......
Good video. Reminded me of old time when I used to ride rail car from Sialkot to Pindi. It was very nice service but eventually was eliminated like every other good thing. Two cars were parked overnight at Sialkot and one used to come early in the morning from Narowal, two cars attached from Sialkot and this 3 cars (boogies) train reached Pindi at 10:30 am. Good old times
wow. You are travelling from our city.......A few years ago. I travelled through this route / section (SKT~LHE) during peddy season. That time greenfields around track enthralled me.
Faheem bhai, hats off to your efforts. The track condition from Skt-Lhr is so poor that it has maintained an average speed of 35-45 KM/H. Whereas a few sections catch up 65-75 KM/H too. But, overall maintenance is much too demanding.

Distance from Sialkot to Jammu is 43km ( 27miles) not 36km. The railway line between Sialkot and Jammu section was built in 1890 and was the first railway line/service in the history of Jammu & Kashmir province. Maharaja Pratap Singh was the ruler then. The railway service was formally closed in September, 1947, a month after taqsim e hind.

Came to this video by accident. Are all stations and trains similar to this? Do not wish to talk down but the conditions of same is similar wo what we had in 1980s. Looks very run down. We might still have similar look in the very small towns but the bigger towns and cities would have much better facilities

Sialkot Station ko completely new building aur platform ki jarurat hai. Jitna maine soona hai Sialkot ke bare me, ke ye rich city hai... lagta nahi ke train travel ko ye log preference dete honge. Ye log jarur luxury coach ya flight se travel karte honge.

Dear Faheem AOA. Again good Job. Although the views along side railway track are not as beautiful as were in your videos of balochistan province specially the one going to Chaman from Quetta. Yet the present one is interesting. Keep it up. It was good to see that you highlighted the delipidated condirion of the track. In such a way railways would never be able to complete with road transport. Aurhorities concerned should think over it. Event today they are looking towards Chinese side for upgradation of ML 1, thought it looks difficult to start that project even in another 5 to 6 years. Thanks and regards.
