Who are your favorite characters?
Some of mine were 1Harry Dresden loved all the Dresden files especially when he used hellfire 2.bilbo 3.geralt of rivia 4.vin 5.Jon snow 6.Conan
No Wayne? 1/10, unsubbed and unfollowed /s
@@gerhardfehr6238 Such great characters!
@@niklasstahl98 Lol I was so close to putting Wayne on the list!
Gotta do a "best supporting and side characters" next! I vote for Lini, nursemaid for House Trakand in WoT!
Say one thing for Logen Ninefingers, say he’s not on this list. 😭
😂 he deserved a spot for sure...
Thankfully, Glokta is
But yes, I agree that more Joe Abercrombie characters need to be on this hehe
you have to be realistic about these things
@@mysticmagicsmurfdarklord6844Well , is the personal opinion of Captured in Words this video.
WHAT?? I WAS LITERALLY ABOUT TO COMMENT: say one thing for Logan nine fingers say he better be top of the list or I’m not watching so thank you, I’m not going to watch. Literally my profile picture
"Sometimes a hypocrite is no more than a man in the process of changing"
Love it!
I really like Adolin Kholin from Sanderson's Stormlight Archive. His optimism and positivity towards everyone and everything even if he isn't a radiant makes him a very lovable character. The way he considers for Kaladin and met him before his mission in to Shadeshmar in ROW made me smile. And also the way he treats his Deadeye Spren, Mayalaran with respect and love and also introduced her to his soldiers. Damn! I really loved that part😅.
Bro the art in and edits of your videos are literally the best on youtube! Incredible every video!
Thank you so much 😀
Wayne from Mistborn Era 2 had a wonderful transformation from simple comic relief to literally making me cry.
The scene from BoM of him coming out of the shadows, in the snow, with a shotgun on his hand and blood splattered on him... That imagery is still engraved in my mind
Elodin from the Kingkiller Chronicles is my favourite fantasy character. I hope to one day learn more of his backstory and more relationship development between him and Kvothe.
I can't explain how much respect I have for you when you were talking about Steris and how she's pretty clearly autistic, then later when talking about Kaladin you brought up mental illness...you didn't call autism a mental illness. Being autistic myself, that's so great of you!
♥
It's not a "mental illness"? What is it?
Lmao
Not an illness just a defect
You are mentally ill, dude
fitz made me throw my hands in the air so many times, like how do you make the worst possible decision every time, but he holds a special place in my heart still.
if there is more characters that you wanted to put on here... THEN I DEMAND (respectfully) A PART TWO!
I love the Steris pick - so enjoyable watching that character develop. My top 5 would be FitzChivalry Farseer, Samwise Gamgee, Roland Deschain, Logen Ninefingers and Tyrion Lannister. Glad we share our favorite! Just wait until you get through the later Fitz books. Great list!
I could not agree more about Fitz. He is my favourite character I’ve ever read about. Have fun reading the rest of his story ;)
Absolutely agree that Fitz is no 1. Annoying as hell but so real with it. Thank you for giving Nighteyes and the Fool a shout out too. Also finish the series. The emotional damage is worth every second of trauma 😁
Great list man! But I'm always amazed with your video editing! Beautiful videos! You must put so much time and attention into making these! Awesome work! 👍🏼👍🏼
bro you need to read the rest of the realm of elderlings if Fitz is #1 just from farseer. his growth is astounding throughout each series, not to mention the fool and nighteyes.
also malta and paragon from liveship traders. Robin Hobb is a master of character work.
Yeah can't believe he's only read Farseer! Farseer is my least favorite RoTE trilogy aside from Rain Wild Chronicles.
You are forgetting kennit, he is one of the best villians ever created.
Fitz is the deepest most well developed character in fantasy period. I'm one book away from finishing Realm of the Elderlings and it feels like I've been with Fitz his whole life seeing him grow from a teenager to an adult in his 30s, then an older man. He is so flawed which makes him quite realistic and believable. I'm gonna miss my old friends Fitz and The Fool when I'm done reading :(
The book hangover after this series man. It’s the worst I’ve ever (and probably will ever) feel. I truly felt like I was saying goodbye to some of my most beloved friends.
I haven't the read the series but how well does Fitz compare as a developed character to Rand Al'Thor?
Fitz just makes me want to cry
Totally agree with Fitz in the #1 spot. Good and well thought out list.
I would have included Mat from WoT and Pug from Raymond E. Feist.
Fitz is such a great complex character! :)
I'm glad to see Pug somewhere. I'm still reading but I thoroughly enjoy the moments when Pug shines.
Also, love Mat.
I just discovered The Farseer Trilogy and i love it. Robin Hobb writer The characters in a Marvellous way!:)
If you think Fitz is good in the first series, read the second trilogy and you'll be ready to start crying 3/4s of the time. So good
Fantastic list!! Love that Fitz is #1!!
I agree on so many of these! I would add Roland from the Dark Tower series and Death from Disc World.
Dritzz, Rake, Eowin, Samewise, Glokta . These are some of my favourite characters as well. Great video!
Agree wholeheartedly about Fitzchivalry! I would have even added Nighteyes to the list. Would love to hear your feedback on the Tawny Man series where you get even more Fitz!
Logen Ninefingers, Fafhrd, the Grey Mouser, Kelsier, Royce & Hadrian
I came just to find fantasy books
Yeeah! Yes Fitzchivalry is my favorite character of all time along with Death, and Nighteyes being my favorite animal companion, Robin hobb makes Fitz a living breathing person instead of a character in a book. I love the Fool too.
Number one will obviously have to be stick.
Shea Ohmsford. Wil Ohmsford. Allanon. John Ross. Nest Freemark. Logan Tom. Angel Perez, and practically every other character from the Shannara series by Terry Brooks. I love that world so much, especially the prequels and original trilogy. For many its Lord of the Rings that they point to as the Fantasy epic that inspired them to write or influenced them the most as a writer, but for me it was Shannara.
The Guildmaster, Theresa, Sister Hannah, and Garth from the Fable video game series by Lionshead studios are also among my favorite fantasy characters of all time. The Fable series was such a huge part of my childhood and teenage years and just like Shannara had a big impact on me as a Fantasy writer.
Thank you for mentioning Terry Brooks. I've read about 40 of his novels so far.
Love that you had Dalinar on here. He’s my favorite in that series and a top 3 all time for me as well. Such a compelling character
I'm going threw Robin Hobb's Farseer series and I love Fitz even though he frustrates me almost as much as Kvolthe. I've shed a they tears in this series and haven't even started book 3 yet
Keep reading, it only gets better. He will feel like an old friend or sibling by the time you finish!
You haven't even scratched the surface of Fitz yet. Neither has CIW. It's a character journey unlike any other.
Fantastic list, I can't believe how hard it would be to create this list. All excellent characters.
Amazing video! Great List! Yessss! Glotka! Just finished the Blade itself and posted my review yesterday. This character makes my all-time favorite list!
Glotka would probably be the highest in my list... that man, he's probably the most hated and loved character I've ever read
@@nrjovanovic so true!
Top five for me are…
(Now the first one might seem lame but this is my opinion after all. Also I haven’t read enough fantasy to pick from)
-Weasley twins from HP
-Samwise Gamgee
-kaladin stormblest
-Eragon
-Kvothe
Hey the Weasley twins are awesome!! Really great list!
@@CapturedInWords thank you!!!
I've really only read the Cosmere books! I want to get into fantasy more! I love all these character based recs in this video!
Great list! Not sure about the order, but some of my favorites would be Kaladin, Vivenna, Vin, Wit, Kelsier, Lightsong, Samwise Gamgee, Death, Harry Potter, Royce and Hadrian, Myron, Arista & Modina (two most underrated female characters). I also recently read The Will of the Many by James Islington and main character Vis is already one of my fav protagonists. One of the best I’ve read!
wit? u cant choose wit, thats cheating
Lightsong! top five for me
@@1994abh Yes he's so great, and quite an underrated cosmere character
I love Fitz! All of Hobb's characters are amazing, super deep, intriguing and human. You really should continúe with the next books in Relam of the Elderlings, they get even better :)
My top 20

Charlie bone
Gandalf
Legolas
Levin thumps
Seth Sorenson
Leo valdez
Matthew Fairchild
Galadriel
Magnus bane
Ty blackthorn
Connor (land of stories)

Tyrion Lannister
Tsunami(wings of fire)

Butler (Artemis fowl)
Artemis Fowl & Butler, I love to see them get mentioned!
I watched this video just to see where you placed Glokta. I can't imagine any great characters list without him.
Awesome video, I cant wait to get into some of theses series! Also, what kind of watch is that ?
Thank you! And it is a wooden watch from Jord.co
Dude, there’s a LOT of Steris love right here, ok?
Putting Gerald above Eowyn is a crime against Humanity my dude
Halt will or thorn from rangers apprentice are my three favorite characters of all time even though the books are y.a I still remember these characters and love them
Great video! Some characters not in the video that I really enjoyed reading: Kaul Hilo, Collem West, Logen Ninefingers, Druss the Legend,
Zorian Kazinski; and more, but those are my top 5
So happy to see some Collem West love! His chapters and Jezal's chapters were my favourites in First Law which I know is a super duper duper uncommon opinion (not that I disliked Logen and Glokta by any means), so your comment makes me feel a bit less weird.
Great list...
My version in no particular order:
Kaladin - Stormlight Archive
Kelsier - Mistborn
Arlen Bales - Demon Cycle
Wayne - Mistborn
Sonia - Magicians Guild
Vin - Mistborn
Moog - Kings of the Wyld
Kylar Stern - Night Angel
Kip - Lightbringer
Kvothe - King killer
Lift - Stormlight
Auri - King killer
Logen Ninefingers - First law
Locke Lamora - Gentleman Bastards
Mat Cauthon - WoT
Geralt - Witcher
Hoid - Cosmere
Clay Cooper - Kings of the Wyld
Nyneave - Wheel of time
Glotka- First Law
Really great list! I love that you included Moog from Kings of the Wyld! Also Kylar Stern! The Night Angel trilogy was actually the first adult fantasy series I read back in middle school. Awesome choices, all these characters are great
@@CapturedInWords I'd never read "a proper book" until my now wife convinced me to try one. I'd recently played Assassin's Creed and saw the covers of the Night Angel Triology - it hooked me in straight away.
I must say, I have a weakness for the chaotic comedy type character such as Moog, Matt, Lift, Locke and Wayne. They just lift (pardon the pun) everything around them.
Love your videos, keep up the awesome work 👏
Arthur Pendragon? Beowulf? The knight from Canterbury tales? Odysseus, Achilles, Hercules? Goku, Loofie, Guts, Naruto? Sun Wukong?
More recently Arlen Bales, simon snowlock, col. Ben Styke, Kip Guile, percy Jackson, wolverine, Deadpool, spawn, Michelangelo (TMNT). Just off the top of the head.
All really great choices!! I was tempted to put some characters from anime/manga on the list but I tried to just stick to fantasy novels.
Isn't Naruto technically scifi now ?
This is an impressive list of some great characters.
Great list of characters. I've never read the Farseer trilogy but it seems like something I need to put on my reading list that keeps on growing! Right now I have Rand as my #1 so knowing there is possibly someone even better is intriguing. Currently trying to get through Malazan as well and its been pretty tough but that is what I expected based on what people have said about it. I was surprised you ranked Dresden so highly, but when you said he gets better after 3 books I guess that makes sense. I listened to the first audiobook and honestly really didn't like it very much. Anyways great video once again, I always enjoyed your editing and opinions so thanks!
I don't have the time to go full top 20, but I can do a quickie top 10 fantasy characters. And yes I'm including some manga
1. Matthias from Redwall
2. Guts from Berserk
3. Aragorn from Lord of the Rings
4. Rand from Wheel of Time
5. Fiddler from Malazan
6. Dalinar from Stormlight Archive
7. Mat from Wheel of Time
8. Vin from Mistborn
9. Ged from Earthsea
10. Kvothe from the Kingkiller Chronicle
Excellent choices!! I really wish I included Ged on my list. Aragorn and Guts are great choices too! Matthias from Redwall is so nostalgic, love that choice
just a couple out there.... Mat Bloody Cauthon in WoT was a bloody fantastic arc. Fiddler from the Malazan series is a character i looked forward to reading and Kip from the lightbringer series is a bloody good underdog story
Some of my favorites are:
Wichtig and Stehlen from Manifest Delusions
Roland from The Dark Tower
Guts and Griffith from Berserk
Ruka from Ash and Sand
Glokta from First Law
Haven't read most of your series, but I do love Sam Gamgee, Eowyn, Locke Lamora, Tyrion (at least from the show), Moraine and Rand. Other Hon. Mentions to Jean Tannan, Tannis Half-Elven, Piranesi, Albus Dumbledoore, Nest Freemark, Atrus, Luthien Tinuviel, Aslan, Anakin Skywalker & Conan - some of them may yet move to the top ten, but for now:
10. Mowgli - the Jungle Books - My Tarzan. Not too complex, but he emotes so deeply, being caught between two worlds hurts! Even a clever Jungle god.
9. Ofelia - Pan's Labyrinth - the movie's great but I think the novelization is even better, especially for getting into her head: How to be disobedient and loyal at the same time.
8. Ser Duncan the Tall - Knight of the Seven Kingdoms - I actually haven't read the other SoIaF books, but I love low born nobility characters like him showing them all how it's done.
7. Ged/Sparrowhawk - the Wizard of Earthsea - only read the first book, but I his found humility and courage inspiring.
6. Gabriel Knight - Sins of the Fathers - sort of like Harry Dresden, but a complete newb to magic. The Novelizations of this game series were actually very good, and his growth of moving from self obsessed hedonist to monastic hunter of evil gets me in the feels, but he's rather incomplete without his partner, Grace Nakamura.
5. Lyra Belacqua - A wonderfully passionate trickster archetype, we don't often see the virtuous liar.
5. Bastian Balthazar Bux - the Neverending Story. ...be careful what you wish for...especially if you don't like yourself.
3. Haplo - the Death Gate Cycle - the perils of nursing your well-earned hatred and choosing the right found family.
2. Caramon Majere - Dragonlance Legends - I'm claiming the "twin clause" so that I get to throw in Raistlin Majere in this spot also :D - ultimately they both become their own person, navigating mutual addictions, but as much as I pity/love them both, I respect "caring man" more in the end.
1. Bilbo Baggins :) I'm surprised to say he means more to me then any of the Fellowship - and his spirit was there through most of LotR I reckon, when he wasn't physically. The OG inspiration. The Poet. The Adventurer Burhobbit.
Great list! One of my favorites from a series you didn’t mention is Roland Deschain from The Dark Tower. The series isn’t for everyone, but it’s as unique as they come, and Roland is a great character
Awesome! I definitely need to get to Dark Tower eventually
Your forgot my favorite- Pug from Raymond Feist the Magician!!! But in general good list. Thanks for doing this.
have you read any of the grishaverse books? (couldn't find on the channel). Seen some of your content and enjoy the way you tell things, though I've not read most of these
Tsk, tsk, tsk... "I won't have an honorable mentions list." and then over and over "I was gonna put *insert great character here* but..." And that, friends, is the difference between a plotter and a pantser.
Bro I can't wait for you to keep going trough Malazan. I'm on book five and it has so many epic charteres. It will change your list, maybe you can make video only about Malazan charters.
Artemis Fowl & Holly Short- Artemis Fowl, Nico Di Angelo & Reyna - Percy Jackson/ Heroes of Olympus, Bartimaeus - Bartimaeus Trilogy, Jarlaxle & Artemis Entreri - Legend of Drizzt
Hoid & Jasnah Kholin - Cosmere, Kaz Brekker & Inej Ghafa - Six of Crows, Kel - Protector of the Small, Lethe - Hollow Star Saga, John Marcone - Dresden Files, Royce - Riyria
I bet all the malazan veterans smirked when he talked about Anomandaris Purake
completely agree with the Steris take. she is easily the best character in the wax and wayne series in my opinion
I really enjoyed Wayne. The first three books he was mostly comic relief but over the course of the series (and especially the final book) he got really fleshed out.
@@fakjbf3129 Yea I agree with that. Wayne would probably be my second favorite character of the series behind Steris.
Fitz is such a frustrating character. He is so well written that I often get the urge to slap him and call him names for all the stupid decisions he makes. And yet I feel for him deeply on many occations. His relationship with Nighteyes is one of my favorite character links I´ve ever read about. He absolutely deserves his place on this list.
Other favorites include Moiraine and Verin from Wheel of Time, Sazed and Vin from Mistborn, Polgara from the Belgariad, the book version of Faramir and Wintrow from the Liveship traders.
Eowyn is one of the most misunderstood characters in fiction, a lot of it can be blamed on her portrayal in the movies which really oversimplifies her character into some kind of Feminist icon and doesn't focus on her real issues or growth. Her conversation with Faramir is completely absent in the movie and so are all the nuances of her character like the fact that she wanted to die in battle because she had no hope but Faramir manages to change her mind. It's a fascinating conversation on the over-glorification of War just for its own sake and in the end, she lays down her shield to become the White Lady of Ithilien, a healer and a Gardener alongside Faramir. People seem to think this is demeaning but that is because they haven't been paying attention, Eowyn herself was healed by Aragorn because the hands of a King are the hands of a healer. To Tolkien, war was necessary sometimes but it wasn't something to glorify just for its own sake, Faramir criticizes Rohan because their whole culture was based around glory in battle and he praises Numenor before it fell because even though they were great warriors it was never the focus of the Kingdom, they held far greater respect for the Arts and building.
Good list, I haven't read/still need to read a lot of these. My Top 10 is:
10. Bilbo Baggins - the Hobbit
9. Clay "Slowhand" Cooper - The Kings of the Wyld
8. Jarlaxle Baenre - Legend of Drizzt
7. Locke Lamora - The Gentleman Bastard Series
6. Roland Deschain - The Dark Tower series
5. Harry Dresden - The Dresden Files
4.. Kvothe - Kingkiller Chronicles
3. Oliver De Burrows - The Crimson Shadow trilogy
2. Tyrion Lannister - A Song of Ice and Fire
1. Raistlin Majere - Drangonlance Chronicles and Legends trilogies
Jarlaxle Baenre, He is a wonderful character, great choice.
Based #1 spot. Also was cool to see characters like Steris and Rikke. Nice list!
Such a good roundup
Gotta do a "best supporting and side characters" next! I vote for Lini, nursemaid for House Trakand in WoT!
From the ones I've read "enough" (will continue with TWoT one day, I suppose), I only disagree with Kvothe and Fitz (I can't stand their first person narrations, I'm afraid). Tyrion and Glokta would be my top 2, I think. And from series I don't think you have read yet I would add the sassy Lady Trent from Marie Brennan's Memoirs of Lady Trent (aka A Natural History of Dragons). One of the very few cases where a first person narration actually elevated the story for me :)
you should do a whole video on personifications of death, it's one of my favorite tropes.
I came to this video expecting The Fool to be on this list, not Fitz. But if you've only read the first trilogy it makes sense.
Wow this would be a very hard list to put together for me. I agree with most on your list, though I would place Wayne over Steris. And I agree with all the commenters. Finish the other two farseer trilogies! You may need therapy afterwards but so good!
I would add Haplo and Alfred from the Death gate cycle, Gerald Terant from Coldfire trilogy, Lady from Black Company, Gavin Guile (or any of the Guile extended family) from Lightbringer series, Nynaeve from Wheel of Time, Navani from Stormlight, and Arithon from Wars of Light and Shadow. 28:13
heyyy did you read shadow and bone novel? do you have any review about it?
I know I'm in the minority of fantasy fans when I say this but I'm ok with the farm boy trope
When we look at history prior to the industrial revolution 80-85% of people were farmers, it wasn't until technology started allowing for farmers to produce far more food that we got a wider range of jobs.
Unless there's some magical way to produce food in your world, most people in that world will be farmers, so having a character starting from nothing before embarking on the heroes journey, well it just makes sense for them to be a farmer
So it doesn't bother me at all that it's an unoriginal story arc, because it's one that just makes sense
It's one I'm good with too. It's just a good classic coming of age trope that WORKS
@@LordNovaPrime1 Yep and that's why it's used so much
If it aint broke don't fix it
@@Trepur349 preach it my friend lol ill die on that hill with you!
@@Trepur349 I love that there are people who don't mind that trope. After all, what matters is not the idea but the execution of it.
My Favorites:
20 Eddie LaCrosse
19 Roland Deschain
18 Simon from Memory Sorrow and Thorn
17 Drizzt Do;urden
16 Jake Chambers
15 Kip Guile
14 Rand Al'thor
13 Bruenor Battlehammer
12 Gavin Guile/Dazen Guile.
11 Lan Mandragonan
10 Mat Cauthon
9 Davian from Licanius Trilogy
8 Caeden from Licanius Trilogy
7 Artemis Entrei
6 Kaladin Stormblessed
5 Sam Gamgee
4 Perrin Aybara
3 Aragorn Ellesar
2 Dalinor Kolin
1 Kvothe the Bloodless
I agree with Steris, she really turned out to be a great character.
I think my top 5 would be Dalinar, Rand, Glokta, Matt and Dresden. Death from Discworld would probably be 6 and Vin 7 and then after that would be tough to narrow it down. Lots of great ones to choose from.
Great choices! all those characters are awesome
I love the Death from Piers Anthony's "Incarnations of Immorality: On a Pale Horse"
I have so many favs that im just going to list them! I cant expalin as i will be here all day. Starting of with ones you haven't mentioned. Killashandra Ree - crystal singer series, Both The Rowan and Damia - The tower and the Hive, Lessa - Dragons of Pern, Magrat & Agnes Nitt - discworld. Silk & Beldin the Belgariad. I also completely agree with Sam from lord of the rings as i have always said he is the real hero of the books and wished the films could of given him the same ending (yes i know its too long winded for cinema!)
Props for including Rikke and voicing the opinion that the Age of Madness cast lives up to the legacy of the original First Law trilogy. A lot of people say the first trilogy was better in both characters and story, and I couldn't disagree more. The characters in the original trilogy had a hook. The remorseful berserker, the bitter crippled torturer, the self absorbed playboy. The cast of the Age of Madness were less built around a gimmick, for lack of a better word, which makes them less immediately memorable but makes their character arc feel even more substantial and grounded. Savine and Orso might be his two best characters in the whole series in my opinion.
Looking for reccomendations on new stuff to get into for Fantasy books!
So far ive enjoyed Mistborn, Stormlight, and the cosmere, GoT, and Kingkiller.
I tend to lean towards audiobooks to listen to at the gym.
The First Law by Joe Abercrombie is by far my favorite fantasy series of all time. Would recommend
If you enjoy audio books then you have to try the Dresden Files. As mentioned in the video the first 3 books although enjoyable they are the weakest but it’s definitely worth continuing just alone for the fabulous James Marsters, a great narrator who does an amazing job with the Dresden Files. The story becomes much stronger and darker as the novels progress and Marsters portrayal of Dresden is awesome.
When I saw title of the vid first characters came to my mind were: Fitz, Kvothe and Kaladin. Btw how could you pick Steris over Wayne? ;D
Have you read Malazan far enough to meet Tehol & Bugg? I wonder if Tehol would make a spot on this list of yours.
"nothing but bones, but is the one of the most fleshed out..." well done there
My favorite personification of Death has got to be from Puss and Boots the Last Wish. An excellent movie for any fantasy lover!
"Death is nothing but bones but is one of the most fleshed out characters"... Well done.
Mennolly from DragonSong/Dragonsinger by Anne McCaffrey is one of my favorites. Also, Aragorn and Hoid are some of my favs.
I love Mennolly too! As we as Lessa
How about Death from On a Pale Horse by Piers Anthony?
I would also mention another Moorcock Eternal Champion as one of my favorites: Corum
Not fantasy, but the Book Thief has a great personification of Death. My favorite book of all time.
I'm not sure how far into Malazan you are, but Rake only gets better and better throughout Book of the Fallen and Kharkanas. Great list.
Also, you definitely should read the rest of RotE if you enjoyed Farseer that much ;)
I read all the Malazan books but which scene is depicted at 8:11?
"Sometimes a hypocrite is nothing more than a man in the process of changing." Was that a quote from something or did you make that up? That's a pretty amazing sentence.
Oathbringer by Brandon Sanderson
I'd like to say I came up with it haha, but it's a quote from Oathbringer 😄
I read oathbringer when it first came out but I totally forgot about that line. Thanks .
Can I add Dorian from the Night Angel trilogy by Brent Weeks? Despite his up bringing, he rejects his intended purpose then pursues a path he knows will be his end to save the world. He assumes the role of the bad guy to avoid a power struggle, doing his best to play the part whilst not completely compromising his morals before embracing his fate and sacrificing everything.
Ngl Steris is my favorite Misborn era 2 character as well.
Raistlin Majere deserves to be on this list!
Kaladin isn’t nearly as enjoyable if it weren’t for Syl.
Gollum over Eowyn.
That’s all!
You should check Another Fine Myth by Robert Asprin. I'm four books into the MythAdventures series and so far they've all been a lot of fun.
Each to their own and everything but I struggle to see how Eowyn makes this list of all the fantasy characters out there 😅
I have to read more because I didn't know these characters except for Geralt!!!
Not fantasy books -but I do really love the critical role cast, especially Caleb in campaign 2
No Darrow of Lykos 😭 if you havent read through red rising i highly suggest it. He has some of the best quotes.
Dracula is pretty good.
You've me say it before, but i'll say it again, Paksennarion from The Deed of Paksennarion, by Elizabeth Moon. Would love to here your thoughts on those books at some point.
No Elric but Geralt who is ahem "inspired" by him gets in. 😕
Geralt is a great inspiration, I placed Elric in my top 10 fantasy books video at least 😉
@@CapturedInWords yeah saw that. Your channel is great. I just think the word inspired is doing some heavy lifting here. 👍
Found Rand interesting in the first half of the series, but as it went on I found Matt and Perrin even more compelling. Especially Matt.
You found … Perrin…. More interesting?? Hah
Once Faile was introduced, yes.@@TheBenFors
@@rons3634 wow… fair enough. Incredibly surprised is all. My take on Rand is that he is without fail, the most interesting character in the books.
@OGForz There wasn't any point in the books where I liked Rand as a person. Felt bad for him having to save the world and try not to go insane, but there was nothing in his personality that made me like him very much. Not a popular opinion, but I like what I like. lol
